4 Introduction and basics 1 Introduction and basics 1.1 Symbols and warnings Important (Note) This symbol indicates operator tips, particularly useful information, or important information about the product or its further uses. It does not indicate a dangerous or harmful situation. 1.2 Intended use ScanMaster DTM is a piece of diagnostic and verification software that enables cyclic checking of the ProcessMaster and HygienicMaster electromagnetic flowmeters. 1.3 Description ScanMaster checks the input and output functionality of the transmitter without any need to disassemble the device. The sensor integrity is also checked without the need for disassembly. ScanMaster reads out any gradual changes that are recorded as a trend in the ProcessMaster FEP500 or HygienicMaster FEH500 and produces a graphical representation of them. Thus, ScanMaster offers an easy way of performing a cyclic check so you can verify the measurement values and whether the installed device is functioning correctly. The test and verification results produced are stored in a database and can be accessed and printed if required. Important (Note) To use ScanMaster, the software revision of the connected device must be as follows (see name plate): with HART communication with PROFIBUS PA or FOUNDATION Fieldbus H Furthermore, the "ScanMaster Option" must be activated on the device. You can purchase this activated "ScanMaster Option" via the device order number. If this option is not activated, ScanMaster cannot read out data from the device. The "ScanMaster Option" can also be activated subsequently by contacting ABB Service. You can find out whether the "ScanMaster Option" is activated on the device by selecting the "Device info \ Transmitter \ ScanMaster Option" menu in the device software. 4 ScanMaster FZC500 UM/FZC500-EN

Installation 2 Installation ScanMaster is based on DTM technology and works in the same way as the ProcessMaster and HygienicMaster HART DTM. ScanMaster can be run on Asset Vision Basic or other frame applications (as of FDT 1.2). Communication with the device is configured via the frame application. Different connection types and software installations apply according to the communication type (HART, PROFIBUS PA, FOUNDATION Fieldbus). 2.1 Connection and software installation for devices with HART communication There are two ways to communicate with the device. These are described below Communication via HART protocol on the 20 ma line What is required: PC / laptop with frame application installed (e.g. Asset Vision Basic) USB HART modem with COM-DTM installed in the frame application "ScanMaster" DVD A HART modem is used for communication. 7 Installation 1. Install ScanMaster DTM. Insert the data storage medium into the drive and start the installation wizard: <drive>:\scanmaster\setup.exe. 2. Start frame application (select expert mode if you are using Asset Vision Basic). 3. In the frame application, add ScanMaster DTM on the network under the HART communication DTM of the USB HART modem. 4. If ScanMaster DTM is not displayed in the device catalogue, you need to update the device catalogue. 8 Installation Once the connection is established, the "HART communication DTM" and "ScanMaster DTM" entries are highlighted in bold and italics. To actually start the DTM, select "Additional functions / Identify" from the same drop-down menu (fig. 4). 9 Installation Communication via FZA100 infrared adapter What is required: PC / laptop with frame application installed (e.g. Asset Vision Basic) FZA100 infrared adapter and corresponding data storage medium "ScanMaster" DVD Free access to the device is required in order to use this communication method. The laptop and connection area of the flowmeter must be accessible. Install the software supplied with the FZA100 infrared adapter (USB driver / Service Port Splitter software) in accordance with the accompanying instructions. 2. Configure the HART channel of the ServicePort Splitter software on a free COM port (see fig. 6). The infrared adapter must be connected to the configured USB port during this process. 10 Installation Important (Note) To allow communication via the infrared adapter, it may be necessary to activate the relevant option in the device software: Communication \ ServicePort \ ServicePort (HART) When communication via the ServicePort is activated, HART communication via the current output is deactivated. The infrared adapter's transmission rate may not exceed 9,600 baud/s. Higher transmission rates can lead to a loss in connection. To adjust the transmission rate in the device software, go to: Communication \ ServicePort \ Max Baud Rate 3. Install the HART communication DTM. This is located on the ScanMaster data storage medium in the following directory: <drive>:\ ABB DTM HART Communication ServicePort. Important (Note) Before starting the DTM installation, ensure that the IPS (Intrusion Protection System) in McAfee or any similar virus scanner is deactivated. To deactivate the IPS, click the virus scanner icon in the Windows taskbar, right-click on "McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention" and then select "Disable IPS". 4. To perform the installation, launch the "Setup.exe" file. The installation wizard guides you through the installation process. 5. Install ScanMaster DTM. To do this, launch the installation wizard as follows: <drive>:\scanmaster\setup.exe. The installation wizard guides you through the installation process. 6. Start frame application (select "Expert Mode" if you are using Asset Vision Basic). First, add the "HART Communication ServicePort" DTM to the network. If the installed DTMs are not displayed in the device catalogue, you need to update the device catalogue. In the ServicePort Splitter software, select the virtual COM port assigned to the HART channel under "COM connection" (e. g. COM8). Run the ServicePort Splitter software for this purpose. 8.
