5 1. Before You Start Please read this Installation Guide carefully before starting the installation process. It will guide you through system set-up and provides vital information. The OPC Server DP of Trebing & Himstedt Prozessautomation GmbH & Co. KG is an OPC Server that functions via a class 2 DP master and enables access to PROFIBUS data. This includes access to information provided by the DP class 1 master, DP slaves and their modules. The OPC Server DP supports Data Access V 3.0 and Alarms & Events V 1.1. For configuration of the OPC Server DP, a configurator is included in the delivery, providing easy-to-use configuration via graphic user interface. The configurator is used to set up the configuration necessary for OPC Server DP operation. Within the configuration, you can define the parameters of DP master, DP slaves and modules which are to be monitored and assign them to the OPC tags. Detailed information about the program is available after software installation by clicking the F1 button. 2. It will help upon hardware and software installation and contains essential information. Please also read the»readme.txt«file on the Trebing & Himstedt Installation CD. Software Installation For successful Trebing + Himstedt OPC Server DP installation, all system requirements must be met (see System Requirements ) and you need to be logged in or be authorized as an administrator. Ensure that the CP5611 PC card is installed if you want to use this hardware. If you use the CP5512 PC card, ensure that it is not inserted in the slot. Start the installation program by double-clicking the >setup.exe< and follow the instructions. 1. Install the Trebing + Himstedt OPC Server DP. The Installation Wizard is started. 8 2. If software system requirements are not met, the following window opens, listing the components missing on your system. Click >Install< to install the required components. 3. Select >Next< to install Trebing + Himstedt OPC Server DP on your system. 8 Trebing & Himstedt OPC Server DP Installations Guide

9 4. Please read the information carefully and accept the terms in the license agreement. Then click >Next< to proceed with the installation process. 5. Enter a user name and your organization name. Select a user for whom you want to carry out the installation and click >Next< Trebing & Himstedt OPC Server DP Installations Guide 9

10 6. You can install the program into default folder or select another folder by clicking >Change<. Proceed with >Next<. 7. Verify your installation settings. If necessary, click >Back< to correct your entries. Click >Install< when all settings are correct. 10 Trebing & Himstedt OPC Server DP Installations Guide

11 8. The progress of the installation procedure is displayed in a status bar. 9. Afterwards successful installation of Trebing + Himstedt OPC Server, click >Finish< to close the wizard. Trebing & Himstedt OPC Server DP Installations Guide 11

12 10. Afterwards you need to restart your computer to adopt your installation settings. Click >Yes< to restart your computer now or >No< to restart your computer later manually. 7. Licensing Two licensing options are available for the OPC Server DP: Software key and hardware dongle. Both licensing versions provide equal functionality. (The only limitation is the changeover between the options. It is possible to replace a software key by hardware dongle, while switching from hardware dongle to software key is not feasible!). The following table lists available license levels. PROFIBUS Strands License Level 1-32 Basic 1-96 Medium Large 7.1 Software Key Please open the folder C:\Program Files\TrebingHimstedt\OPCServerDP. Select the >license.dat< file and send this together with your delivery note or invoice number by to info@t-h.de. The >license.dat< file is licensed by Trebing & Himstedt Prozessautomation GmbH & Co. KG and returned to you by . Re-copy the license.dat into the installation folder to complete the licensing process. Proceed through the same steps for upgrade licensing. Send the >license.dat< file to Trebing & Himstedt Prozessautomation GmbH & Co. KG for extension of license according to your upgrade. 13 7.2 Hardware Dongle Insert the license dongle in the free USB slot after successful installation. The assistant to search for new hardware is started automatically. Select >No, not this time< and click >Next<. Select >Automatic Software Installation< and proceed with >Next<. Trebing & Himstedt OPC Server DP Installations Guide 13

14 The driver for the license dongle is installed. After successful installation, click >Finish< to close the wizard. The driver for the license dongle is installed exclusively for this USB slot. If you want to use other USB slots of this system at a later date, you have to be logged on or authorized as an administrator again and have to proceed through the same steps. 14 Trebing & Himstedt OPC Server DP Installations Guide

15 License Upgrade Note: The OPC Server DP has to be started to launch the upgrade process. From Hardware License to Hardware License: Insert both the original license dongle (green) and the upgrade license dongle (blue) in two of the USB slots of your system (one slot respectively). Open the context menu of the OPC Server DP icon in the task bar by right mouse click and select >Upgrade<. Select >Upgrade< to start the procedure. 16 From Software License to Hardware License: Insert the license dongle (green) in the USB slot of your system. Open the context menu of the OPC Server DP icon in the task bar by right mouse click and select >Upgrade<. Select >Upgrade< to start the procedure.
