THE MAINS LEAD USED TO POWER THIS MACHINE SHOULD NOT EXCEED 2 METRES IN LENGTH. THE WIRES IN THE MAINS LEAD ARE COLOURED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING CODE AND POLARITY: GREEN AND YELLOW : EARTH BROWN : LIVE BLUE : NEUTRAL TO ENSURE SAFE OPERATION THIS MACHINE MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE MAINS ELECTRICAL SUPPLY USING AN APPROVED IEC POWER CORD. EACH CORD MUST HAVE AN IEC APPROVED CONNECTOR FITTED AND AN APPROVED 13-AMP PLUG, FUSED WITH NO GREATER THAN A 13 AMP FUSE RATING. SHOULD IT BE NECESSARY TO REPLACE ANY COMPONENTS IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THEY ARE REPLACED WITH IDENTICAL COMPONENT VALUES AS SUPPLIED BY ASTRA GAMES ORIGINALLY. CORRECT POLARITY MUST BE OBSERVED AT ALL TIMES. EARTH BOND & INSULATION ASTRA PRODUCTS ARE SUBJECTED TO INSULATION AND EARTH BOND TESTS BEFORE DESPATCH. THESE TESTS SHOULD BE REPEATED PERIODICALLY OR WHENEVER ANY SAFETY CRITICAL PARTS OR CONNECTIONS ARE REPLACED, OR RECONNECTED. CHILDREN SHOULD BE SUPERVISED SO THAT THEY DO NOT PLAY WITH THE APPLIANCE. INSTALLATION GUIDELINES Always install on a level surface to promote healthy coin acceptance. Avoid locations with excessive low/high humidity and temperature. Never overload plug connections in the same outlet. Avoid locations too near to neon or similar lighting that may emit high levels of electrical interference. Allow suitable ventilation around machine to avoid over heating. Check that the mains input voltage supply is correct and the 'earth' connection is secure. Before applying power for the first time after delivery we strongly recommend that all electrical connectors and assemblies be inspected, are firmly in place, secured and correctly orientated. In the case of Multi-Player products where top box units are heavy we strongly recommend that particular care be taken when lifting the top box assembly to avoid personal injury. Never disconnect electrical connectors from any assembly without first switching the power off to the ALL machines connected. Issue A Page 5 of 28 12/01/10

7 BRIEF GAME DESCRIPTION Solid Gold Player - Category C/D The main game takes place on the base reels, where the player uses holds and nudges to achieve wins. Solid Gold is based on the original Pure Gold. Players use holds and nudges to achieve 3 of a kind wins on the reels. Achieving the right combination on the Base Reel enables the Top Reel to activate, allowing the player an opportunity for higher winnings. BASE GAME AWARDS Base Game Multi-Stake: 25p Play 50p Play 1 Play Jackpot: Top Game Awards Top Game Multi-Stake: 25p Play 50pand 1 Jackpot: Issue A Page 7 of 28 12/01/10

8 Solid Gold Player Feature Upon achieving the combination the Gold-Top Game-Gold on the win line of the Base Reel, the player is awarded the Solid Gold feature on the top reels. A series of wins is paid to the player, which ends on a losing combination. During the feature the following award structure applies Solid Gold Streak During the Solid Gold feature, if the player gets the combination Gold -Solid Gold Streak -Gold on the reels, they enter the special SOLID GOLD STREAK feature. On all future spins the outside reels will be locked in position and only the middle reel will spin, guaranteeing the player GOLD wins only. The feature ends when a losing combination comes in. Community Play The community gaming feature is a function that allows other gamers to join a Top Game triggered by the first player to activate the top game play. Community play is randomly triggered from any base reel win. To be eligible to participate in any community bonus the machine must be in credit and in play. In between games there is a 5 second time-out period if a player allows 5 seconds to elapse after a game has finished, that machine will become ineligible until a new game is begun. An onscreen panel on each machine will show the player whether they qualify for a shared bonus should it be triggered, and also show how many other players are active. If the game console intends to enter the feature it will illuminate the blue surround around the top glass immediately after it has swept up to the top. Any game console that does not illuminate the blue surround is not in the feature and so a lose tune will be played and sweeps back to base reel play to normal play. All the individual games that are in the feature will start the 1st spin of the feature together, under the synchronised control of the initiating game. Each win is completely independent to the game console i.e. the feature plays exactly as it does now with credit breaks. Issue A Page 8 of 28 12/01/10

18 Operating the Starpoint Electronic Counting Units (S.E.C) This machine has been fitted with a single Starpoint Electronic Counter that directly replaces the need to fit conventional electro-mechanical meters. The SEC unit incorporates multiple 'digital' counters that store the various meter values in a digital code format that are held in non-volatile memory i.e. it cannot be altered or cleared down. Where is it located? The SEC unit is situated on the upper Right-hand side of the belly glass, a clear window is provided to view the meter. What meters are used in this machine? Meter 1 = REFILL, Meter 2 = CASH IN, Meter 3 = CASH OUT, Meter 4 = CHANGE Meter 5 = TOTAL PLAYS, Meter 6 = NOTES IN NB. All counter values are in 10p units. How is the SEC connected to the host machine? A 6-pin connector is situated on the rear of the SEC unit, which interfaces to the host machine molex connector; data is transmitted via a serial peripheral interface standard. How do I read the values of each counter? The SEC will only display counter values when the following procedure is followed. In normal game play no counter values are viewable to the player. 1. Open the main door and wait for the machine to re-initialise. 2. Press the Hold 1 button to select the REFILL counter, this will show REFILL and the value of this counter. 3. To proceed to the next counter press the Transfer button, the display will then show CASH IN and the value of this counter. 4. To proceed to the next counter press the Transfer button, the display will show CASHOUT and the value of this counter. The above procedure will step the S.E.C. meter through all of the counters and then return to the REFILL counter. 5. Pressing the Autostart button will step through the above procedure in reverse. To exit access to these counter values simply close the main door. Issue A Page 18 of 28 12/01/10
