Version and Compatibility Information This release contains firmware version RPC2_ _98733 (supersedes release RPC2_ _96704) and is compatible with the following devices and software: Emerson Network Power RPC2 rack PDU (power distribution unit) communication card o The following communication protocols are supported with the RPC2 communication card: HTTP/HTTPS Emerson Velocity Protocol Remote Service Delivery Protocol SMS Emerson CLI SNMP v1, v2c, v3 Emerson Network Power MPH2 power distribution unit (PDU) Liebert MPH power distribution unit (PDU) Liebert MPX power distribution unit (PDU) Avocent MergePoint Unity KVM over IP and serial console switch Avocent ACS 6000 advanced console server Avocent Universal Management Gateway appliance Avocent DSView management software Avocent Rack Power Manager software Trellis real-time infrastructure optimization platform Nform software 1

Please check the firmware file name and confirm the dotted numerical part is greater than the installed version (such as is greater than , for example) before proceeding. The PDU, Branch and Receptacle default factory labels are uniquely assigned by hierarchical level tag and appended Device serial number. For example, RCP B-3 [V14K ] means this receptacle is at the third receptacle position of Branch B of the MPH2 PDU with Device serial number = V14K , which is also displayed on nameplate of device. Updated plugin_emerson_rpc2_rackpdu_ _97953 is compatible with Avocent DSView 4.5 software Service Pack 5 (SP5) and Avocent Rack Power Manager 1.5 software Service Pack 5 (SP5). See the plug-in documentation that accompanies the Avocent DSView software and Avocent Rack Power Manager software for more detail. Event Notification PDU Power on Reset Event reported after Device power cycle to notify when the rack PDU has experienced a power cycle. Device Change acknowledge event reported if user clicks the System/Device Change check icon. This action is requested whenever an RPC2 card, MPXBRM or sensor change occurs by the user or resulting from reset to factory defaults. The flush Events log now preserves active alarms. 2

3 Features/Enhancements Security Supports OpenSLL 1.0.2g for stronger cryptographic libraries to reduce susceptibility to man-in-the-middle attacks and for Avocent DSView software and Avocent Rack Power Manager software server/client ADSAP2 security. Supports OpenSSH 6.6p1 to prevent known DoS and authentication bypass attacks. SNMP Liebert SN Leak Detection Sensor (SN-L) is supported. Normal measurements fall between values of +/-1500 Pa. Measurements outside these boundaries shouldn t be interpreted as Pascal readings but abnormal conditions, including No Support = , Unavailable = , Out of Range = and Unstable = Firmware Update Start Event and Reboot traps are supported to allow SNMP client to be aware of possible communication disruptions. Release Fixes Table Feature Fix Web Interface MPH2 Devices Command Line Interface (CLI) Main tabs are now visible and accessible via horizontal and vertical scroll bars when shrinking browsers window size. Fixes display of L3-L1 voltage label in PDU Explorer Status tab. Added Refresh icon to Sensor Configuration page to update sensor list if automatic update doesn t occur within ten seconds. The sensor discovery process may take longer than ten seconds depending upon the number of sensors and types. Firmware Update progress bar now displays 100% when successfully completed. Improves numerous pop-up messages, including grammar and spelling errors. Fixes metering reporting for models having mixed NEMA and IEC receptacles per branch. Request to sync time now synchronizes real time clocks of all members of rack PDU array. MPHB1423, MPHC1523, MPHM1523 and MPHR1523 models line status LED L2 is now illuminated green to indicate normal operating condition. For models having either NEMA 5-20P, L5-20P and L6-20P plug, the input current rating is corrected to report 16A. The status <pdu> command now reports L3 information. The status undercurrent command reports receptacle information once. The network mac command now reports second MAC ID corresponding to Link port. SWOTP configuration is now supported. 3

4 Feature Fix Configuration Sensor datapoints now saved to backup file. Backup files saved to CSV (comma separated values) format for easier spreadsheet editing. USB memory stick file import now supports System Name having special characters. Security Fixed Carjacking vulnerability. SNMP SNTP Configuration page now does not allow empty row sorting. Protocol now supports communication retries. The community strings text fields allow characters including alphanumeric, space, and ~!#$_+`-={} Semi-colons are not supported. lgppduentryrbcount OID now reports correct receptacle branch count. SWOTP configuration is supported. Local time zone adjustment now works after reboot. 12 hour clock AM/PM now changes at twelfth hour transition. Networking The Datalog and Backup configurations now allow an IPv6 address to be entered in the FTP IP address field. Event Notification Firmware Update status no longer reports false failures. Too Many event is reported if more than ten sensors connected to an RPC2 card. For plugin_emerson_rpc2_rackpdu_ _97953, the following fixes were made: Avocent DSView software plug-in/ Avocent Rack Power Manager software plug-in Regardless of whether there is a single device or array of devices, all connections are treated like a cascade. This provides a more organized topology view with all receptacles listed within the folder. Added logic so that a configuration change handles single or multiple row selections in a sensible way. For example, if a user selects multiple receptacles associated with MPH2-R and MPH2-B devices, then configuring power settings is meaningless and disallowed. Added support for display of Liebert SN family of sensors measurements or states and configurations. Added support for display of line-neutral and line-line voltages measurements. Added support for all power-related measurements at all levels. Added support for all receptacle power control settings. Changed some default views and hid customizable information of lesser importance. Added Back button to configuration pages. Fixed Event notifications configuration. 4

5 Feature Fix Added SSH enable/disable to Access Control view. Display numerical value for MPX and MPH PDU branches, rather than the MPH2 device alpha character. Fixed Phase power segregation reporting. Fixed MAC address display. Performance optimization when in trust-all mode. 3. Upgrade Instructions The RPC2 communications module may be updated to this firmware using the Web-based Firmware Update feature described in Section (System Tab- Firmware Update) of the RPC2 Communications Module User Manual (R09-14, SL-20841). 4. Known Issues Feature Workaround Web Interface Older browser versions may not correctly render certain graphical features. A non-maximized window may hide some tabs. If Adware/virus in the host PC, accessing it will cause reboots. Under certain conditions, the FW Update progress bar goes from 99% to 59% completion. Login does not accept credentials or various pages do not show expected information or new feature support. Prior to RPC2 card Rev4 hardware assembly, for Liebert SN prefix family of modular sensors configurations having greater than three modular SN-2D and SN-3C sensors on the same string, the sensor discovery process can become unstable depending upon the sensor cabling proximity to noisy power cabling. The symptoms may include occasional Absent Sensor events or the inability to discover one or more sensors. Use only compatible browsers versions advised above. For the best experience, the recommended minimum horizontal resolution is 1200px. For resolutions lower than 900px, zoom out to view the full content. Not available at this time Ignore momentary display of incorrect progress. Delete browser cache, close browser and login again. 6 Feature Workaround Prior to RPC2 card Rev3 hardware assembly, the Liebert SN Leak Detection Sensor (SN-L) is not supported. On the configuration page, a SN-3C sensor is shown with two "-2" entries, "-3" is not displayed. Please refer to Emerson RPC2 card Support for Liebert SN Leak Detection Sensor Technical Bulletin for more detail. Labeling error; third entry is actually -3 sensor. SNMP No validation of logical consistency for threshold settings. Not available at this time. Command Line Interface (CLI) Avocent DSView software/ Avocent Rack Power Manager software When using CLI to control the power or set thresholds values, a three second delay is required before the updated values or states can be read back correctly. Avocent DSView software and Avocent Rack Power Manager software servers fail to discover MPH2 rack PDUs using IPv6 subnet range. Not available at this time. For the Add Appliance Wizard, select the Add one or more appliances by IP address option instead.
