We strongly recommend you read the entire document and the related documentation available for this product. Effective: Immediately. Applicability: This firmware release is applicable for both the Power IQ virtual appliance and the hardware appliance. Release Status: Power IQ Release is General Availability (GA). Existing Power IQ & Customers Use the Version Upgrade Bundle: It is a bin file named poweriq upgrade.bin that is available for download. You can find the file at You install this file by clicking the Power IQ Settings tab. Click the Software Upgrades link in the Administration section. Existing Customers with Any Version Prior to Power IQ : Please contact Raritan technical support for upgrade support - Five Device Evaluation Versions Cannot be upgraded to You must download the new release and configure a new virtual appliance

2 Power IQ 1.4 contains the following improvements over 1.3.1: 1. Multi-Vendor power control a. Remote power control of outlets, IT devices, groups of IT devices and racks b. Scheduled power control operations c. Configurable on/off sequence and delay of IT devices within a device group d. Operation Confirmation & Reason e. Audit Log 2. Single pane of glass management of APC, Avocent, Cyber Switching, Geist, HP, ServerTech, MRV and Raritan Ethernet enabled rack PDUs and in-line meters for power control and analytics reporting. 3. Easy and comprehensive user device grouping and permission management 4. Temperature charts support both Celsius and Fahrenheit 5. Environmental sensors can now be charted in the analytics section. 6. Calculate and chart active power, energy and cost for in-line meters that only provide current 7. PX has a very specific firmware upgrade path that must be followed. Please do NOT upgrade the following 3 models to PX 1.3.1, as it will result in a unit becoming non-functional. DPXR4X1A-16NP, DPXS20A-16AU-M and DPX8A-16AU-M. The upgrade path for customers with these units will be in a future release. Release MUST not be downgraded to ANY prior PX release. IMPORTANT - Upgrade Matrix: - The following upgrade paths MUST be followed, otherwise it can result in a unit that needs to be returned to the factory

If you attempt to modify more than one chart at a time you might see a second line in the filtering section of the Chart Settings Form or Chart Settings might transfer between the Charts. Click the Analytics tab to clear. CR-2405 The Global Power Control role doesn t have permission to view and perform power control on Device Groups. You need to assign the role of Administrator to have this permission. CR-2314 Power Control Settings Options can not be changed if there are Scheduled Active Power Tasks. You must de-activate them first

4 Other Important Release Information: 1. Set Data Storage Time Period Configuration This configuration determines data retention period. Click Settings Tab; Click Data Rollup Retention Link; Configure Settings; Click Save. 2. Chart Settings The Data From and the Contained In chart setting filters are related. The Contained In filter is a sub filter of the Data From filter and is an available filter when you select any item from the Data From filter except for All. 3. Database restore via the Admin GUI can only be used for back-ups of standard released GA versions ; ; , , Contact tech support if you have a beta version. 4. Enabling the Network Time option in the serial console has no affect for VMware release versions of Power IQ. In this case, Power IQ will calibrate its time using the clock of the VMware platform. For accurate time-stamping, please configure your VMware platform to use NTP. 5. The Dashboard Analytic Chart and charts on the Analytic tab require an enterprise data model to be configured. A default one can be generated from the Enterprise Relationships page in the Settings tab or one can manually be configured from the Data Centers tab. Additionally one can be manually created in a CSV file to import into the system. Please consult the User s Guide for more information. 6. If hardware appliance CMOS battery fails, the software will display an internal server error for the web interface. The battery needs replacement along with the hardware clock adjusted. 7. No Syslog messages are sent for enterprise data model object creation, modification, and deletion actions. 8. The quick search field only can be used to find a specific PDU by IP address. 9. Avocent and MRV PDUs require entry of a proxy index in the "add PDU form" to identify the individual PDU in the serial chain; if the PDU is not in a serial chain 1 should be used. 10. Power Control state updates immediately upon successful completion of power control operation. Active power and current values are updated upon completion of next polling interval and page refresh
