4 Chapter 1 Operation Environment To use this software, the following software environment and hardware environment are required. 1.1 Software Environment 1. 6 Chapter 2 Restriction Release Items and Notes 2.1 Restriction Release Items None. 2.2 Migrating Considerations None. 2.3 Notes There is a following note on this software. 1. In the Multipath Disk Control 1.2 or later, hot system replacement function of the RAID controller is available in MPHD viewer. However, MPHD viewer of the Multipath Disk Control 1.x does not support the fabric connection function of this product (in a word, the function does not support the specification of target device in the "fcp-bind-target" of /kernel/drv/fjpfca.conf file.) But MPHD viewer of the Multipath Disk Control 2.0 or later supports the fabric connection function. The hot system replacement of RAID controller must be performed manually according to the section "Restoration procedure of path failure" in "Multipath Disk Control" manual. In the section " Restoration procedure of path failure" in "Multipath Disk Control" manual, you can find the column "Free devices address". This column explains how to delete information on WWN(World Wide Port name) of the RAID controller to be replaced which is stored in the GP7B8FC1U driver. And this operation is processed by the clchgfc command included in this product. Be sure to follow the procedure explained below to process the clchgfc command. If the WWN of the RAID controller cannot be changed due to part replacement, the process of this command is omitted. Example of the device replacement which is not described in fcp-bind-target Processing Timing After replacing the part, and without connecting the fibre channel cable on the replaced RAID controller side, execute the command. In the non-clustering system, execute the command on the all node. In the clustering system, the command issued to one node can automatically be processed for all nodes. Synopsis /usr/sbin/fjsvpfca/clchgfc -d raw_device_name Example of the device replacement which is described in fcp-bind-target Processing Timing After replacing the part, obtain the WWN of the new part (device) to execute the command before post process (iompadm restart command, or chgctl -c command) of the Multipath Disk Control. In the non-clustering system, execute the command on the node that has definition of the target device to be replaced. In the clustering system, the command issued to one node can automatically be processed for all nodes. Synopsis /usr/sbin/fjsvpfca/clchgfc -d raw_device_name -p new_device's_wwn Note In "Multipath Disk Control 1.x" manual, the clchgfc command is recommended instead of the chgfcctl command for this operation. In FUJITSU PCI Fibre Channel 2.1 or later, clchgfc command is recommended instead of the chgfcctl command. The clchgfc command can recognize the type of clustering system/non-clustering system. In the clustering system, the clchgfc command issued to one node can automatically be processed the same command for all nodes. 2. When you use GR700 series (F6403xx) as a dump device, connection type must be set in Arbitrated loop (private loop). The Fabric connection of GR700 series (F6403xx) cannot be set as the dump device. 3. Notes for Hot-plug(PHP) Operation When you perform PHP operation to the link card to unconfigure and configure the External I/O Expansion Unit on which the Single/Dual channel 4Gbps Fibre Channel card (SE0X7F11X/SE0X7F12X) mounted, perform following operations after configure External I/O Expansion Unit. 1. Unconfigure Fibre Channel card 2. Configure Fibre Channel card If you don't perform the PHP operation, SE0X7F11X/SE0X7F12X will not be recognized. 8 Chapter 3 Program Component The unit of the program in which the system is composed is called the package. This software is composed by the following packages. These packages are installed appropriately by installer program. 10 Chapter 4 Installation Procedures This chapter provides the installation procedures of this software. 4.1 Preparing to Install 1. Before installing this software, check the enough space available on the disk. For the disk size of this software to be used, see "1.3 Static Disk Requirements." If there is not enough space available, reconfigure the disk partition. 4.2 Installing Software 1. Become the super user on the system according to the following command. # su <RETURN> Password: (not displayed) <RETURN> 2. If you boot in single user mode, Mount required file systems. # mountall -l <RETURN> 3. Insert CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive unit, and execute the following commands. # cd /cdrom/cdrom0/bin <RETURN> Please refer to "Appendix B Manual mount of CD-ROM in single-user mode" when you cannot refer to CD-ROM. 4. Execute the pfcapkgadd.sh shell script. #./pfcapkgadd.sh <RETURN> 5. Do the following interaction. 1. NOTE: If the update installation fails and below messages are displayed on Solaris 10 environment, perform following solution. Installation of Fibre Channel driver (FJSVpfca) started. [y,n,q] y pkgadd: ERROR: The package <FJSVpfca> has <SUNW_PKG_ALLZONES> = true and <SUNW_PKG_THISZONE> = true: the package may set either parameter to true, but may not set both parameters to true. NOTE: if the package contains a request script, it is treated as though it has <SUNW_PKG_THISZONE> = true pkgadd: ERROR: package <FJSVpfca> cannot be installed on this system/zone 1 package was not processed! ERROR: Installation of FJSVpfca failed. 1. Copy /kernel/drv/fjpfca.conf to some directory to save current setting. Old fjpfca.conf file would be deleted in next procedure. 2. Delete FJSVpfca package. # pkgrm FJSVpfca <RETURN> 3. Refer to this section and install software once again. 7

11 4. Edit /kernel/drv/fjpfca.conf and restore settings. 7. Please execute shutdown(1m) command and boot the system after the installation. # /usr/sbin/shutdown -y -i6 -g0 <RETURN> 4.3 Environment Setting After Installation 1. When connecting with fibre channel switch, environmental setting is required after installation. Connecting other SCSI device may also require an appropriate configuration file such as "/kernel/drv/sd.conf" for the SCSI target driver. Please refer to "FUJISU PCI Fibre Channel 4.0 Guide" for detail. 4.4 How to Remove Software 1. Become the super user on the system according to the following command. # su <RETURN> Password: (not displayed) <RETURN> 2. Execute the pkgrm(1m) command. To remove this software, follow the reverse order of "Chapter 3 Program Component." # pkgrm FJSVpfca <RETURN> 8

12 Chapter 5 Applying Manuals 5.1 Online Manual The following manual is stored on the CD-ROM is prepared in HTML format as the online manual. This manual can be referred directly from CD-ROM or copied to your hard disk. 14 Appendix A Reference method of CDROM. A.1 If you can not refer CD-ROM in single user mode When you install the Fibre channel driver, if you can not refer to the CD-ROM, use the following solution. 1. Stop the volume manager # /etc/init.d/volmgt stop <Return> NOTE: If you will stop volume manager, please restart it when you finished installation. 2. Create the mount directory if it does not exist. # mkdir /cdrom/cdrom0 <Return> 3. Mount the CD-ROM. # mount -F hsfs /dev/dsk/<cdrom_device> /cdrom/cdrom0 <Return> 4. Change the directory to the CD-ROM. # cd /cdrom/cdrom0 <Return> Please do the following procedures when you eject the CD-ROM. 1. Change the directory. # cd / <Return> 2. Un-mount the CD-ROM. # umount /cdrom/cdrom0 <Return> 3. Eject the CD-ROM # eject cdrom <Return> 4. Restart volume manager # /etc/init.d/volmgt start <Return> A.2 When you can not use CD-ROM drive. You can refer CD-ROM device through NFS. You will mount the CD-ROM device from the server with which CD-ROM drive is connected by the following procedure. The server with which CD-ROM drive is connected should do share /cdrom/fjpfc4_0 beforehand and it keep accessible remotely. 1. Mount the CD-ROM. # mkdir p /cdrom <Return> # /usr/sbin/mount F nfs o ro host:/cdrom/fjpfc4_0 /cdrom <Retern> host indicate the install server s host name 2.
