Surge Also known as a transient Simply put: It is a random, high energy, short duration electrical disturbance A subcycle disturbance in the AC waveform that is evidenced by a sharp, brief discontinuity of the waveform Often nano or micro-seconds in duration 4 4 What is a Surge?
