3 File E Vol. 1 Sec. 14 Page 2 Issued: GENERAL: When a low voltage signal (+V s ) is applied to Precision Centigrade Temperature Sensor, LM35, the output voltage of this integrated-circuit temperature sensor is linearly proportional to the Celsius temperature. The output voltage is shown in the following equation: V out = Temp. ( o C) x (10 mv/ C) USR indicates investigation to the Standard for Temperature-Indicating and -Regulating Equipment, UL 873, Eleventh Edition.

4 File E Vol. 1 Sec. 14 Page 3 Issued: TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS (NOT FOR FIELD REPRESENTATIVE S USE): Conditions of Acceptability For use only in complete equipment where the acceptability of the combination is determined by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. 1. These devices are intended to be used only in Class 2 or Limited Energy, Low-Voltage (LELV) circuits. These devices have not been evaluated for other circuits or abnormal conditions. 2. These devices have not been evaluated for overshoot temperatures. 3. The enclosure has not been evaluated for insulation of live parts. The body of each device is considered to be a live part. The suitability of spacings between the body of these devices and other live parts shall be determined in the end product evaluation. 4. The suitability of the connection and mounting means of these devices with respect to temperature and secureness shall be determined in the end product evaluation. 5. The devices covered by this Report have undergone 6000 cycles of Endurance Testing. Although calibrated, these devices are not intended for safety (limiting) applications.

7 File E Page T1-1 of 1 Issued: TEST RECORD NO. 1 SAMPLES: Samples of the temperature sensing integrated circuit devices as indicated below and constructed as described herein, were submitted by the manufacturer for examination and test. Samples of Model LM35 series were used for test purposes. Model LM35DH is considered representative of the entire package type TO-46 series. Model LM35CZ is considered representative of the entire package type TO-92 series. Model LM35DM is considered representative of the entire package type SO-8 series. Model LM35DT is considered representative of the entire package type TO-220 series. GENERAL: Test results relate only to the items tested. The following tests were conducted: Calibration Overload and Endurance Re-Calibration Calibration Aging Re-Calibration The test methods and results of the above tests have been reviewed and found in accordance with the requirements in UL 873. The material covered by this Report has been tested and found to comply with the requirements of the Standard for Temperature-Indicating and -Regulating Equipment, UL 873, Twelfth Edition, Dated November 16, 2007, in effect as of the date of this Report.

8 File E Page C1 Issued: CONCLUSION Samples of the components covered by this Report have been found to comply with the requirements covering the category and the components are judged to be eligible for Component Recognition and Follow-Up Service. Under the Service, the manufacturer is authorized to use the Recognized Marking described in the Follow-Up Service Procedure on such products which comply with said Procedure and any other applicable requirements of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. Only those products which properly bear the Recognized Markings are considered as Recognized Components by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.
