1 Thank you for purchasing an Agilent instrument. To get you started and to assure a successful and timely installation, please refer to this specification or set of requirements. Correct site preparation is the key first step in ensuring that your instruments and software systems operate reliably over an extended lifetime. This document is an information guide AND checklist prepared for you that outlines the supplies, consumables, space and utility requirements for your equipment for your site. Customer Responsibilities Make sure your site meets the following prior specifications before the installation date. For details, see specific sections within this checklist, including: One Set of ScreenTape assay consumables including ScreenTape devices, ladder and reagents must be purchased by the customer and must be available. This needs to be confirmed before installation date as the installation and familiarization service delivery includes a demonstration of an actual analysis with ladder. Any Agilent ScreenTape assay can be used for the installation and familiarization service delivery. Please lookup available kits in the section Required Operating Supplies by customer. For installation and familiarization with the D1000 ScreenTape assay the following items should be order and present (kit type is an example only). o D1000 ScreenTape devices: (includes 7 devices, of which 1 will be used partially) o D1000 Reagents: (includes ladder & sample buffer, used only partially) The necessary laboratory or bench space is available, see Dimensions and Weight section. The environmental conditions for the lab are met, see Environmental conditions section. See Power Consumption section for related requirements in number & location of electrical outlets The Required Operating Supplies necessary for the product and installation If Agilent is delivering installation and familiarization services, users of the instrument should be present throughout these services; otherwise, they will miss important operational and safety information. If you have questions or problems in providing anything described as a Customer Responsibility above, please contact your local Agilent or partner support/service organization for assistance prior to delivery. In addition, Agilent and/or its partners reserve the right to reschedule the installation dependent upon the readiness of your laboratory. 2. Should your site not be ready for whatever reason, please contact Agilent as soon as possible to rearrange any services that have been purchased. 3. Other optional services such as additional training and consultation for user-specific applications may also be provided at the time of installation when ordered with the system, but are contracted separately. 3 Dimensions and Weight Identify the laboratory bench space before your system arrives based on the table below. Pay special attention to the total height and total weight requirements for all system components you have ordered and avoid bench space with overhanging shelves. Also pay special attention to the total weight of the modules you have ordered to ensure your laboratory bench can support this weight. The work bench should be stable and vibration free. Please note: The 4200 TapeStation instrument is delivered in a cardboard box mounted on an 80x60cm pallet with a total height of approximately 80 cm. 4 Environmental Conditions Operating your instrument within the recommended temperature ranges ensures optimum instrument performance and lifetime. Special Notes Performance can be affected by sources of heat & cold e.g. direct sunlight, heating/cooling from air conditioning outlets, drafts and/or vibrations. The site s ambient temperature conditions must be stable for optimum performance, see table below. Do not operate the 4200 TapeStation instrument outside the temperature range of C ( F). Please note the ScreenTape assays do have individual Operating temp ranges deviating from the instruments range. Allow approximately 75mm (3 inches) of clear space around the instrument for air circulation and electrical connections Do not operate the 4200 TapeStation instrument outside the range of 15-80% relative humidity. Keep the conditions non- condensing. Upon delivery, store in a temperature stable, dry environment. Do not remove the instrument from its original shipping box immediately, but allow it to warm up to the ambient temperature of the operating environment. High levels of ambient light can affect the instruments performance. Position the 4200 TapeStation instrument facing away from direct light sources. Placed the instrument on a flat and stable surface to avoid spillage of solutions and to achieve accurate results. 6 Required Operating Supplies by Customer Special Notes: ScreenTape devices and associated reagents are not provided with the 4200 TapeStation instrument delivery and must be purchased separately. Please note the reagent specific storage conditions upon their arrival. ScreenTape devices and reagents for the chosen assay must be purchased by the customer prior to the installation. One ScreenTape device, ladder and reagents must be provided by the customer for installation and familiarization at the installation. Tube strips, tube caps and loading tips do come with the system and are partially used during installation and familiarization. The following table lists the available consumables, by application, and suggested apparatus required for each assay.
