Correct site preparation is the key first step in ensuring that your instruments and software systems operate reliably over an extended lifetime. This document is an information guide AND checklist prepared for you that outlines the supplies, consumables, space and utility requirements for your equipment for your site. The 2100 Bioanalyzer needs approximately 8 cm (3.1 inches) of clear space at the rear for air circulation and electrical connections. Additional space is required for a laptop or desktop computer and optionally, a printer. Environmental Conditions Operating your instrument within the recommended temperature ranges insures optimum instrument performance and lifetime. 1. Performance can be affected by sources of heat & cold e.g. direct sunlight, heating/cooling from air conditioning outlets, or drafts. 2. The site s ambient temperature conditions must be stable for optimum performance. 3. Do not store, ship or use the instrument under conditions where temperature fluctuations could cause condensation within the instrument. Condensation will damage the electronics. 4. If the instrument was shipped in cold weather, leave it in its box and allow it to warm up slowly to room temperature to avoid condensation. 5. The 2100 Bioanalyzer is designed to operate in a controlled electromagnetic environment (EN61326/A1) where RF transmitters such as mobile telephones should not be used in close proximity. 6. All PC hardware needs to be listed respectively in the Windows Hardware Compatibility List ( 2. The voltage setting of the computer system and the power cables have to be correct. 3. Before installing the 2100 Expert software make sure you have the appropriate rights for installation. You need to have an account with administrative rights to successfully install all needed components. 4.
