7 2. Installation 2.1. Included in the Package The MobiNEST is shipped complete with the BossPac NEST Receiver, Battery and Charger/Tender, attached antenna, USB Cable, and a pre-determined number of wireless sensors. The removable carry plate can accommodate a combination of up to 22 sensors. The impact resistant protective case is Waterproof IP67 rated Placement of MobiNEST Placement The case / enclosure is best placed in a horizontal orientation, (flat with antenna on top). A rigid platform, desk or table top surface, is recommended Location The MobiNEST enclosure (case) should be placed in a strategic location within 30 metres (100 ) of the WASP Sensors. This location should be in an area not subjected to direct spray, splash of water or contaminants. When closed the case is water resistant, however, the placement surface should be clear of any standing water or possible runoff areas. If used in areas with high dust levels, airborne particles, or an outdoor environment, it is recommended to close the case lid when not interfacing with NEST equipment Positioning The MobiNEST enclosure should be positioned to maximize direct line of sight of the antenna with the sensors in use. Placing the case in a metal cabinet, a separate room, or behind machinery may affect signal strength. Closing the lid on the case will not affect signal performance MobiNEST Wiring, Connections, and NEST Receiver Connections No on site connections or additional on site wiring of the MobiNEST is required MobiNEST Backplane and Switches All necessary wire routing and cable connections have been completed prior to shipping
8 NEST Receiver Antenna NEST On/Off Switch Figure 2: MobiNEST Front Panel Antenna The antenna connection has been completed prior to shipping. The antenna cable is routed through the BossPac NEST Receiver Gateway and attached to main plate. This connection cannot be accessed without removal of the protective back plate. This should only be done by a trained service technician in a location known to be non hazardous. WARNING EXPLOSION HAZARD. DO NOT CONNECT OR DISCONNECT THE ANTENNA IN A HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT. AVERTISSEMENT RISQUE D EXPLOSION. NE PAS BRANCHER OU DЀ-BRANCHER L ANTENNE DANS UN ENVIRONMENT FLAMMABLE
9 Nest Receiver Mounting The BossPac NEST Receiver has been installed onto the main plate of the MobiNEST. All necessary wiring to the receiver has been completed prior to shipping. The protective back plate on the receiver should not be removed unless there is a requirement to access the internal pcb. This should only be done by a trained service technician in a location known to be non hazardous. For complete wiring information refer to the WASP NEST Smart Receiver and Gateway Operations Manual Battery The MobiNEST is powered by a 12V, 5A, rechargeable battery. The battery has been installed with all necessary wiring completed prior to shipping. This connection cannot be accessed without removal of the protective back plate. A battery charger is included and located beneath the removable sensor carry plate. The battery connector is located on the right side of the front plate under a protective cover. The battery should be charged regularly, (depending on usage). It is also recommended the battery be maintained, (charged periodically), if the MobiNEST is not being used, or if stored for an extended period. Charging should be done in an area known to be non hazardous. WARNING EXPLOSION HAZARD. DO NOT CONNECT OR DISCONNECT THE POWER IN A HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT. AVERTISSEMENT RISQUE D EXPLOSION. NE PAS BRANCHEZ LA PRISE DANS UN ENVIRONMENT FLAMMABLE Figure 3: Battery Charger Location Figure 4: Data and Battery Connections
