Notes on Safety This manual does not constitute a complete catalog of all safety measures required for operating the equipment (module, device) in question because special operating conditions might require additional measures. However, it does contain notes that must be adhered to for your own personal safety and to avoid damage to property. These notes are highlighted with a warning triangle and different keywords indicating different degrees of danger. Danger means that death, serious bodily injury or considerable property damage will occur, if the appropriate precautionary measures are not carried out. Warning means that death, serious bodily injury or considerable property damage can occur, if the appropriate precautionary measures are not carried out. Caution means that minor bodily injury or property damage could occur, if the appropriate precautionary measures are not carried out. Hint is important information about the product, the handling of the product or the respective part of the documentation, to which special attention is to be given. Qualified Personnel Commissioning and operation of the equipment (module, device) described in this manual must be performed by qualified personnel only. As used in the safety notes contained in this manual, qualified personnel are those persons who are authorized to commission, release, ground, and tag devices, systems, and electrical circuits in accordance with safety standards. Use as Prescribed The equipment (device, module) must not be used for any other purposes than those described in the Catalog and the Technical Description. If it is used together with third-party devices and components, these must be recommended or approved by Siemens. Correct and safe operation of the product requires adequate transportation, storage, installation, and mounting as well as appropriate use and maintenance. During operation of electrical equipment, it is unavoidable that certain parts of this equipment will carry dangerous voltages. Severe injury or damage to property can occur if the appropriate measures are not taken: Before making any connections at all, ground the equipment at the PE terminal. Hazardous voltages can be present on all switching components connected to the power supply. Even after the supply voltage has been disconnected, hazardous voltages can still be present in the equipment (capacitor storage). Equipment with current transformer circuits must not be operated while open. The limit values indicated in the manual or the operating instructions must not be exceeded; that also applies to testing and commissioning. 4 SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

Installation of TS35 Rail (DIN Rail) Installation of Cable Duct Installation of Master Control Element Installation of Bus Interface Modules Installing TM Modules Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 25 DC , Edition

Assembly 3.1. Necessary Material Due to the different circumstances with the local installation of the SICAM TM systems, not all details such as e.g. screw sizes, cable lengths and the like can be dealt with in this document. Therefore only recommendations and minimum requirements are specified concerning consumables. The fitter himself must ensure that suitable materials and tools necessary for the installation are available. 26 SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

X2 X3 TB Assembly 3.2. How and where can Installation take place? Installation Location The terminal modules are designed for the installation in a cabinet, rack or on the wall Installation Position SICAM TM systems may only be installed horizontally or vertically. The vertical installation is to be preferred, since this provides a considerably more space-saving and efficient installation. The cabling of external cables is also made significantly easier as a result. 28 X3 TB X6 NC X7 X8 X9 Assembly Space Requirement The space requirement of a completely configured SICAM TM peripheral element (power supply, master control unit, up to 8 I/O modules) in the width comes to 630 mm (without end bracket and terminal strip marker for the system designation). The space requirement for the height depends on several factors. Besides the size of the module itself (130mm), the size of the cable ducts used and their minimum distance to the modules is to be taken into account. This distance is 20 mm if no lead labeling is to take place and 30 mm if the leads are to be fitted with labeling bushes HÖHE X4 FB RX SI0 SI1 /LK SI2 /PK SI3 /LK /PK X5 RY ER PUSH TO RELEAS E X2 SICAM TM 1703 ACP CP-6014 M-PRE/0 SI0 SIM0 M-PRE/1 SI1(ETO) M-PRE/2 SI2(FB) X10 M-PRE/3 SI3 X11 X12 PUSH TO UNLOCK ERx TX LOC WD ER COMCPY X15 RES PWR 24-60VDC PUSHTO RE LEA SE X13 X14 X16 X1 SICAM or or or HEIGHT (mm) DEPTH (mm) (system with 8 I/O modules) WIDTH (mm) 28 SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

Assembly Environmental Conditions The permissible temperature range for the operation of the modules is about C (except CM-0842, only up to +55 C). For details on the subject of environmental conditions, please refer to the SICAM TM System Data Sheet (MC ), chapter: "Climatic Ambient Conditions and Electrical Ambient Conditions". Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 29 DC , Edition

Assembly 3.3. Installation of TS35 Rail (DIN Rail) For the installation of the modules a TS35 rail is used. This must conform to the European standard EN The orientation and position in which the TS35 rail is to be installed must be determined locally. Take into account the details specified in chapter 3.2.3, "Space Requirement" Caution By means of the connection TS35 rail - cabinet/rack a reliable grounding connection must be guaranteed. 30 SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

Assembly 3.4. Installation of Cable Duct For the cabling, cable ducts are to be provided at both sides of the modules. The minimum distance from the terminal module to the cable duct is 20 mm for cabling without lead labeling. If the leads are to be fitted with labeling bushes, the minimum distance is 30 mm (refer to chapter 3.2.3, "Space Requirement" ). Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 31 DC , Edition

Assembly 3.5. Installation of Master Control Element The master control element can be installed on the TS35 rail by hand, without any tools. To do this, the master control element is attached to the upper edge of the TS35 rail in a slanted position. One then turns the housing until the white spring retainer has contact with the lower edge of the rail. By pressing on the housing the spring retainer opens a little and the housing snaps into the guide SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

Assembly Removal/Shifting of the Master Control Element To remove the master control element again, or to change its position on the TS35 rail, the spring retainers on the back panel of the housing must be opened. To do this, one inserts a slotted-screw screw-driver below the housing in the spring retainer and pushes the screw-driver upwards. As a result, the spring retainer opens and is held in a slightly tilted position. As soon as both spring retainers are in this position the master control element can be removed or shifted on the rail After shifting the master control element the spring retainers must be closed again in order to fix the housing. For this a slight push on the spring retainer is sufficient to bring it back to the closed position. 4 Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 33 DC , Edition

Assembly Securing Master Control Element against Slipping If the master control element is installed vertically, it must be secured against slipping with an end bracket. 34 SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

Assembly 3.6. Installation of Bus Interface Modules Optical Ax Bus Designation CM-0842 Ax 1703-Businterface 4x fiber optical Item Number/ MLFB GA MF11110AJ420AA0 The optical Ax Bus Interface Module can be installed on the TS35 rail by hand, without any tools. To do this, the module is engaged in a slanted position with the carrier rail retainer in the upper edge of the TS35 rail. One then turns the housing until the carrier rail retainer also has contact with the lower edge of the rail. By pressing on the housing the retainer opens a little and the housing snaps into the guide Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 35 DC , Edition

Assembly Removing/Shifting the Optical Bus Interface Module To remove the optical bus interface module again, or to change its position on the TS35 rail, the carrier rail retainer on the back panel of the housing must be opened. One achieves this by pushing with one finger from above on the moving part of the carrier rail retainer, or from below with one finger hooked into this movable part and pulling downward. In both cases the carrier rail retainer opens and the module can be removed or shifted Electrical Ax Bus Designation Ax 1703 bus interface electrical Item Number/ MLFB GA MF11110AJ430AA0 The electrical Ax Bus Module can be installed on the TS35 rail and removed again by hand, without any tools. For details concerning the handling of a TM module refer to section 3.7, Installing TM Modules. 36 SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

Assembly 3.7. Installing TM Modules Design and Elements of a Module Peripheral connector On the modules there are, depending on the type, up to 4 10-pole male connectors with removable screw terminals. (Optionally spring-loaded- or crimp terminals can be used.) With the screw terminal, as an option there exists the possibility of a mechanical terminal coding (refer to chapter 11.6; "Terminal Coding"). Connection Diagrams These are located on the underside of the modules. They indicate examples of the external circuitry of the modules. Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 37 DC , Edition

Assembly Locking Clips By means of these two metal clips the modules are locked onto the TS-35-rail and also removed. Display Elements / Front Panel The number and meaning of the displays on the front panel are, apart from the RY-LED, different on all modules. While the RY-LED always displays the functional readiness of the module, the meaning of the other displays is to be taken from the respective description (SICAM TM I/O Modules) Handling The modules can be installed on the TS35 rail and removed again by hand, without any tools. For this, the locking clips on the top side of the module are pressed together, the module coupled with the neighboring module by means of the guides at the corners of the housing and positioned on the TS35 rail. For the removal, the locking clips are again pressed together and the module withdrawn with clips pressed together. Warning The connecting and withdrawal of modules is only permitted in a de-energized state. This state is achieved by interrupting the power supply to the power supply unit and to the peripherals. 38 SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

Assembly Connection Modules that are adjacent to each other are mechanically connected with each other by means of the guides at the corners of the housing. Caution The housing form of older TM modules does not provide sufficient protection against incorrectly positioned installation. Therefore pay attention to the correct alignment if you install such modules. It is correct, when with vertical installation position of the system, the lettering on the front panel can be read from left to right. With horizontal installation position of the system, it must be possible to read the lettering on the front panel from botton to top. Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 39 DC , Edition

Assembly Order The first two modules are always the power supply module and the peripheral control module. Afterwards the I/O modules are installed. Caution With the last module, to protect the bus a protective cap is to be snapped on. Such a protective cap is included in the package of every power supply module as standard. In addition, with vertical installation an end bracket is also to be fitted. This prevents the modules from shifting due to their own weight. 41 4. Wiring Communication Content 4.1. Introduction Configuring Master Control Element with Serial Interface Modules (SIM) Wiring Communication Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 41 DC , Edition

Wiring Communication 4.1. Introduction Depending on the protocol elements incorporated in the master control element, SICAM TM provides different methods of communication (Serial V.28, V.11; Ethernet TCP/IP; Field Bus) to external data transmission systems. Serial communication Point-to-point traffic according to IEC Multi-point traffic according to IEC Dial-Up Traffic LAN communication Field bus communication This chapter describes how these methods of communication can be realized by means of standard modems and cables. 42 SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

Wiring Communication 4.2. Configuring Master Control Element with Serial Interface Modules (SIM) A master control element can be configured with up to 2 serial interface modules. The SIMs and the associated patch plugs are installed on the main board of the master control element. In order to perform this task the housing of the master control element must be opened. ATTENTION OBSERVE PRECAUTIONS FOR HANDLING ELECTROSTATIC SENSITIVE DEVICES Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 43 DC , Edition

Wiring Communication Opening the Housing First the dust protection cap must be removed from the D-Sub connector (X2) and the screws removed marked with Point. Then the red plastic side panel can be removed by carefully bending it away from the front side of the housing and detaching it from the mounting with a push to the rear. Now the back panel of the housing can be removed and one can begin with the installation of the SIMs SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

Wiring Communication Removing/Fitting the SIM Retainer The SIM cards are fixed to the main board with 2 clips. To remove these clips one presses that end of the clip, which is snapped on to the underside of the housing, inwards and then by pulling the clip one withdraws it from the housing. Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 45 DC , Edition

Wiring Communication Installing Patch Plugs and SIMs On the main board there are 4 slots (X24-X27) for patch plugs and 2 slots for SIMs. The slots X24 and X25 are reserved for SIM0 and X26 and X27 are reserved for SIM1. First the patch plugs must be fitted, since their slots are hidden after installing SIM0. If a second SIM (on slot SIM1) is installed later in a master control element, SIM0 must be removed in order to reach the patch plugs for SIM1. X27 (SI3) X26 (SI2) X25 (SI1) X24 (SI0) SIM0 SIM1 Attention With the CP-6003 master control element the danger exists that patch plugs could be fitted incorrectly, since no mechanical protection exists against distorted installation. This protection is available in CP-6010 and CP A patch plug is then correctly fitted when PIN 1 of the patch plug is slotted in the hole of the respective slot marked with SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

Wiring Communication Fixing the SIMs In addition to the 3 connectors with which the SIMs are connected with the main board, fixing clips are also used so that the SIMs cannot loosen. To fit these fastening clips, one first guides the wide end of the clip in the recess on the inside of the housing and then presses the thin end, possibly with the help of a narrow screwdriver, into the anchoring between SIM card and housing. Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 47 DC , Edition

Wiring Communication The clip is only then correctly fixed, when it snaps on to the housing and presses on the SIM card. Mounting SM-0551 SIM SM-0551 is not mounted directly on the main board like the other SIM, it must be mounted on a SM-2558 before. SM-2558 SM SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

Wiring Communication Configuration Notes Depending on the type of SIM used and the slot in which this is installed, there are interfaces available on the front of the housing. 84 Wiring Process Peripherals 9.1. Wiring Process Peripherals Cabinet-internal wiring is preferably carried out with plastic-insulated cables according to DIN VDE 298 T4 2/89. Types: H05V-K (0.5-1mm²), H07V-K ( ). The use of lead sleeves is recommended. The construction of the peripheral connectors is designed for direct peripheral wiring. That means, that the wiring can be carried out without the use of a routing terminal or other additional screw terminals. For the wiring, cable ducts are to be provided at both sides of the modules (refer to chapter 3.2.3, "Space Requirement"). Warning The activities described in this chapter presume that the grounding connection between SICAM TM and cabinet or rack has been properly carried out and that these are earthed. Warning For modules that operate with voltages >60V (e.g.: DO-6212, DI-6101) care must be taken that manipulation on the peripheral connectors may only be carried out in a de-energized state. The reason for this is that when withdrawing the upper peripheral connector under voltage, the external voltage can be conducted through the lower peripheral connector still connected. The pins of the upper peripheral connector now freely accessible will now conduct the external voltage. 84 SICAM TM, Installation Edition , DC

10. Shielding / Protective Earthing Content Shielding Protective Earthing / Grounding Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 89 DC , Edition

Shielding / Protective Earthing Shielding Basically the TM-modules are designed in such a way that no shielded cables are required. Normally, shielded cables are strain-relieved directly after the cabinet/rack entry and then grounded on a large-surface screening rail installed for this purpose. The terminal modules themselves provide no possibility of shield clamping. Exception For the module TE-6450 used for position acquisition, the screened cable must be conducted interruptionfree from the shaft encoder directly up to the module. 91 Shielding / Protective Earthing Protective Earthing / Grounding When installing a SICAM TM system, attention is to be paid that the cabinet or rack used features a proper protective earthing / grounding. That means, that all electrical conducting parts must be connected large-surface and as short as possible with the cabinet spar. The cabinet spar itself must be connected with the existing grounding system. If these prerequisites are given, the grounding of the SICAM TM system takes place over a connection to the mounting sheet or to the TS35 rail. (grounding wire 2,5mm 2 ). A reliable connection is achieved by using screws with contact washers. Hint The TS35 rail of a complete equipped pripheral element (PS+PE+8 I/O Modules) must be bolted at least 4x on metallic background. This background must be at least 40 cm wide. A mounting plate is recommended. Siemens SICAM TM, Installation 91 DC , Edition
