Requisites: Catalog Description: Students will learn about the transition from a Classic Data Center environment to Virtual Data Center and the Cloud virtualization at each layer -compute, storage, network, desktop, and application- along with business continuity in a VDC environment. Students will also learn Cloud computing basics, infrastructure components, service management activities, security concerns, and considerations for Cloud adoption. 13. Class Schedule Description: EMC--Information Storage and Management: storing, managing, and protecting digital information. 14. Counselor Information: This CNET course is part of a series of courses in virtualization. Prepares students for the EMC Information Storage Associate (EMCISA) Certification. II. III. Student Learning Outcomes The student will: 1. Explain the phases of transition from classic data center to virtual data center (VDC) and then to the Cloud. 2. Describe virtualization technology at compute, storage, network, desktop, and application layers of ICT infrastructure. 3. Describe business continuity solutions in a VDC environment. 4. Explain the key characteristics, services, and deployment models of Cloud and describe the Cloud infrastructure components and service management processes. 5.
