1 MARTIN PALKOVIČ Martin Palkovič is the managing director of IT4Innovations, the national supercomputing center in the Czech Republic. Before joining IT4Innovations, he was working for 12 years at imec Leuven, Belgium. At imec, Dr. Palkovič among other things participated in implementing innovative solutions for information and communication technologies for large multinational companies (e.g. Samsung, Panasonic) and led the technology transfer of imec MPSoC technology to Toshiba. He is author and co-author of more than 50 publications in the embedded system domain. Dr. Palkovič is member of "Future and Emerging Technologies" Advisory Group of H2020 and Council for Large Infrastructures for Research, Experimental Development and Innovation of the Czech Republic. 24 Conclusions IT4Innovations is the national supercomputing center of the Czech Republic with modern infrastructure serving academic and industrial users with strong link to other national supercomputing centers and EU HPC landscape IT4Innovations looks in the exascale projects at scalability challenge of massively parallel sparse linear solvers and power challenge (utilization of autotuning) as well as new topics as machine learning for pharma industry EU does not want to lag behind in the way to exascale and invests 700 mil. EUR to HPC in years within H2020
