ABSTRACT On March 8, 2013, the CirrusAir Technologies, controlled environment facility in Magnolia, Texas was tested to determine if the completed as-built / at rest facility could achieve cleanliness standards of Class 100,000 (ISO 8) at 0.5 microns, according to Federal Standard 209E and ISO The controlled environment was tested with a laser particle counter at a fixed height consistently at 36-inches above the finished floor. The distributions of the readings taken for this test are referenced in the grid location numbers shown on the test grid (TG-1) and (TG-2). Please refer to the referenced test grid numbers for locations of the instrument readings shown in the data herein. The instrument readings establish that the controlled environment facility is NOT operating with cleanliness levels at or better than the specifications as per Federal Standard 209E and ISO Specific test procedures, results and raw data are detailed in the body of this report. According to all instrument readings recorded herein, the conditions of cleanliness, temperature, humidity and air velocity have NOT been met as specified and herein are NOT certified as such. 3
TESTING EQUIPMENT APPARATUS The following instrumentation was used for the measurement of the cleanroom facility. Readings taken include Cleanliness, Temperature/Humidity and Air Velocities. Particle Counter: HACH MET One Model No.: 3313 Serial No.: Calibration Date: 11/14/ /14/2013 Temperature/Humidity: HACH MET One Model No.: 3313 Serial No.: Calibration Date: 11/14/ /14/2013 Air Velocity: TSI - VELOCICALC Model No.: 8386 Serial No.: Calibration Date: 04/18/ /18/2013 4
PROCEDURE PARTICLE COUNT AND TEMPERATURE/HUMIDITY TESTING After the visual inspection of the overall controlled environment facility and filtration system was complete, a check of the overall room cleanliness and integrity was made by the Cleanroom Consultants & Certifications Technician. The room was tested at work station height (36-inches from the finished floor). The facility was at-rest during all testing. The following procedure was used: 1. The particle counter cup was mounted to the cart 36-inches from the finished floor (accept as noted). Probes were positioned so that the blower did not interfere with the readings. 2. The calibration indicator was checked to insure a volume of one (1) CFM was being pulled into the counter and the counter was set on cumulative mode. 3. In accordance with ISO and Federal Standard 209E, a grid pattern was established for testing the room. There were a total of eighteen (18) grid points. (See attached Grid Test Plan TG-1& TG-2). 4. Readings were taken in the middle of each grid in a uniform plane 36-incles from the finished floor. 5. Readings were taken for a period of one (1) minute which is twice the amount of time required to be in accordance with Federal Standard 209E and ISO Particle size of 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, 3.0, 5.0 and 10.0 micron were counted. Temperature/humidity readings were recorded at the same particle test point grid locations using a temperature/humidity probe in conjunction with the particle counter. 6. Movement of the cart or probes was avoided during testing. Test results are recorded in Table I and Table II. 5
PROCEDURE AIR VELOCITY TESTING This test checks air vent velocity for proper air flow uniformity and blower output. Procedure Using the attached test grid (TG-1) and (TG-2), the vents were located with a corresponding number, each vent was then measured a minimum of two (2) test points. The two (2) velocity readings are compiled and averaged for a total velocity for each vent. Testing Parameters Scan Time: Minimum Test Points: Six (6) seconds. Two (2) per vent. Test results are recorded in Table III. 6
DISCUSSION OF RESULTS The controlled environment facility has been designed to NOT meet ISO 8, Class 0.5 micron as per Federal Standard 209E and ISO at an as-built / at rest condition. Measurements were taken for a one (1) minute sampling period of at least one (1) CFM of air at each test grid point. The maximum number of particles for a Class 0.5 micron is (100,000) ten thousand particles in one cubic foot of air. All particle counts were well OVER the specifications at the time of testing. All counts exceeded the designated class requirements during at rest status. Table I lists the raw data and test points counts for particle accumulation in the Class 100,000, ISO 8 controlled environment. Test Grid (TG-1) and (TG-2) indicates the test grid pattern locations. Additional controlled environment parameters including temperature, humidity and air supply vent velocity all met or exceeded the specified design or required levels. 7
CONCLUSION The controlled environment facility as-built / at rest is NOT certified as meeting ISO 8, Class 100,000 as per Federal Standard 209E and ISO All particle counts at each of the particle size discriminations exceeded the required limits. All counts exceeded the designated class requirements for the rooms. In conclusion, the facility will perform above the certified class with the present contamination control filters and procedures. 8

Movement of the cart or probes was avoided during testing. Test results are recorded in Table I and Table II. 5
PROCEDURE AIR VELOCITY TESTING This test checks air vent velocity for proper air flow uniformity and blower output. Procedure Using the attached test grid (TG-1) and (TG-2), the vent were located with a corresponding number, each vent was then measured a minimum of two (2) test points. The two (2) velocity readings are compiled and averaged for a total velocity for each vent. Testing Parameters Scan Time: Minimum Test Points: Six (6) seconds. Two (2) per vent. Test results are recorded in Table III. 6
DISCUSSION OF RESULTS The controlled environment facility has been designed to meet ISO 8, Class 0.5 micron as per Federal Standard 209E and ISO at an as-built / at rest condition. Measurements were taken for a one (1) minute sampling period of at least one (1) CFM of air at each test grid point. The maximum number of particles for a Class 0.5 micron is (100,000) ten thousand particles in one cubic foot of air. All particle counts were well within specifications at the time of testing. No counts exceeded the designated class requirements during at rest status. 7
CONCLUSION The controlled environment facility as-built / at rest is certified as meeting ISO 8, Class 100,000 as per Federal Standard 209E and ISO All particle counts at each of the particle size discriminations were within the required limits. No counts exceeded the designated class requirements for the rooms. In conclusion, the facility will perform in a satisfactory manner at or below the certified class with proper contamination control procedures. With proper maintenance, the controlled environment should continue to operate within the designed limits for many years to come. 8
