UPower's Truck-Size Nuclear Power Plant By Martin LaMonica Posted 15 May :00 GMT There are a number of efforts to build small modular nuclear reactors aimed at lowering the cost of nuclear power. But one company is designing a reactor that s so small it would fit in a shipping container. Boston based UPower Technologies, founded by three nuclear engineers from MIT, is betting that its very small nuclear battery can be cost competitive with power from diesel generators used in remote locations. It s one of a handful of companies creating new reactor designs with the hopes of improving nuclear power s safety and cost. By building a very small reactor, the company thinks it can test full scale prototypes cheaply and meet a market need for energy in remote places, such as mining operations, island nations, or military microgrids. It expects that its reactor would generate between one and two megawatts of electric power. By contrast, a full size nuclear 5/22/ power plant typically produces about 1000 megawatts.
It all starts with the Thing that is not connected. Then, the desire to create a Connected Thing to acquire information. 5/22/
Research into the Internet of Things is still in its infancy IoT s roots can be traced back to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), from work at the Auto ID Center. Founded in 1999 LZ & FL 5/22/
In the near future, On average, each cow generates about 200 megabytes of information a year. This allows farmers to monitor cows health and track their movements, ensuring a healthier, more plentiful supply of meat for people to consume. On average, each cow generates about 200 megabytes of information a year. 5/22/

What is Cloud Computing? Cloud computing can be defined as the set of Computer hardware, networks, storage, software, platforms and interfaces that are combined to deliver aspects of computing as services. 5/22/
Business no longer have to buy, build, install, configure, update and maintain computers, servers, networks, software packages, platforms and storage. They have to focus on their core business and the cloud computing be as a utility. You could think of the cloud computing a new utility that is similar to the power, gas and water. When you consume power, you really do not have to be responsible for the power generations, building transmission lines, substations and distribution transformers. Only you pay as you consume. The same story holds for the water and gas. New utility is in the block the could computing. 5/22/
NIST Cloud definition framework Service Models Infrastructure as a Services (IaaS) Platform as a Services (PaaS) Software as a Services (SaaS) Virtualization, At any given moment your application may be in Cleveland, your storage in Baltimore and your CPU in Phoenix. 5/22/ azure and cloud computing posts_16.html 32
