2 First Nations have the great potential of being part of the change needed in addressing the huge demands faced by Canada s growing economy. We need to work in full partnership with industry and others to further the advancement of economic and effective solutions to our growing infrastructure needs, whether they are in housing, community infrastructure, new technology and connectivity, and especially financing solutions. This conference will pull together all of the current and future practices, ideas, and research and bring them together in a single forum to provide a holistic approach to stronger and healthier communities. Topics highlighted in conference presentations will span the complete range of community infrastructure needs that can be found in any community, large or small. The National First Nations Infrastructure Conference will also engage attendees in discussions on alternative financing options, new and innovative water and wastewater technology for small systems, connectivity and the potential for Public-Private Partnerships through facilitated dialogue based on case studies. In addition, alternative ways of financing housing projects will be presented along with a review of current practices and case studies from successful communities. The tradeshow component will invite industry, the financial community and service providers to showcase their products and opportunity to demonstrate innovative approaches to providing housing to address the dire need for additional units and more adequate and affordable housing for First Nation families. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain new knowledge, network with peers and contribute to the discussion on how to provide and access greater opportunities for improving First Nations community infrastructure.
