This requires a power - ful, innovative and flexible print controller: The internal Fiery IC-408 and the external IC-305 together with the colour and finishing expert ineo from Develop represent the very latest developments in technology, designed to meet the exacting performance requirements of printing businesses, agencies, in-house print shops and copy shops. The productivity, expandability and comprehensive colour management of both controllers make it the ideal choice for demanding users in professional production environments. With the IC-305 con troller you can choose from the optional add-ons Graphic Arts, Graphic Arts Premium and Produc tion Printing Package. Colours are calibrated with the spectral photometer ES-1000 of the Color Profiler. Spot and custom colours can also be defined in the spot-on menu on the basis of their RGB or CMYK values.

3 Colour management with Fiery ColorWise Spot and custom colours RGB and CMYK data in a document is processed sep - arately. Fiery ColorWise also recognises spot colours and calibrated colours automatically and uses the CMYK values best suited to the ineo for their reproduction. Colours are calibrated with the spectral photometer ES-1000 of the Color Profiler. Spot and custom colours can also be defined in the spot-on menu on the basis of their RGB or CMYK values. This ensures consistently high print quality for recurring special colours. Calibration Even the best print system has to be calibrated reg - ularly daily in the case of larger print runs. Fluc tu - ations in temperature and humidity have an effect on colour reproduction. The spectral photometer ES-1000 of the Color Profiler is a fast, easy-to-use colour calibrator that is connected to the computer via a USB interface. It is used for, among other things, calibration of the ineo Because the ES-1000 is addressed directly by Fiery ColorWise it can, in addition to being used as a measurement device for ICC profiles, be used as a densitometer to prevent fluctuations with respect to colour reproduction. To maximise the benefits of a colour printing system it must be properly calibrated. ColorWise Pro Tools Simulation For creating proofs there are offset simulations, which correspond to an industry standard (SWOP, Euroscale, DIC) or the output of a specific offset printer. With the simulation method Complete (Output GCR) the printed colours of offset printing can be simulated with toners without distorting the density. ICC profiles are calibrated and created with the Color Profiler and the corresponding spectral photo - meter ES Trapping Text and graphics are automatically printed as an additional layer over a colour background in order to prevent halo effects (Auto Trapping). This trapping can be configured in the Graphic Art Premium Package. With the ColorWise module Profile Manager you can load source, simulation and output profiles in accordance with the ICC standard and use these pro - files to control the colour output of the ineo down to the finest detail, even using device links if required. The Graphic Arts Package delivers the screen simulation of the offset printing process, which can be checked on the monitor using the Premium Package (soft proof with Image Viewer). Production media such as colour newsprint can also be sim u lated by entering the white spot for the paper. The editable control strips as well as the detailed post-flight report for subsequent inspection of the proof make the Graphic Arts Premium Edition the ideal checking tool for small print runs. Standard functions of the IC-305 such as tools for schedul ing and prioritising print jobs and for giving pref erence to rush jobs complete the profile of a powerful control instrument for print runs, making the Fiery Production Printing Package the ideal solution for preventing bottlenecks and minimising downtimes. The IC-305 allows for sufficient time for the correction of false printer settings. Hot Folders and virtual printer-drivers for the automated processing of docu ments to be printed can help shorten the printing process.
