2 XENTAURIX Media & Broadcast Systems are deployed for the network/internetbased streaming, recording, and playback of TV, radio, video, and metadata in the widest variety of application areas. TV/radio monitoring and compliance recording TV program and audienceratings analysis With the XENTAURIX Broadcaster, TV and radio stations can be recorded, called up and analyzed via network or the internet. In addition to video and audio tracks, the system also stores metadata such as EPG, subtitles, speech-recognition texts, as-run-logs, bookmarks, and TV viewing quotas. With just a few clicks of the mouse on the network or internet, the entries can be called up through search terms, the calendar, or turbo fast-forward and/or rewind, and then directly played back, edited, annotated, and stored as clips. With the XENTAURIX Broadcaster and its TV-Rating module, marketing, media, advertising and broadcasting companies have at their disposal a powerful query and editing application for the analysis of TV program content. With the integrated storyboard, multiscreen function, and TV-ratings display, in combination with the possibility to initiate queries via metadata and/or calendar, an optimal evaluation of TV contents, advertising spots, etc. is provided. Especially interesting is the simultaneous playback of a number of TV channels in the multiscreen mode Our systems are developed in such a way that they are defined by the customer s workflow and not the other way around. 2

Through the use of search terms applied to EPG data and subtitles, recordings can be located and immediately called up in a particularly effective way. This solution provides time-shifted playback of all channels, via either the Time-Machine slider or EPB data. The scope of time ranges from 24 hours through adaptation to global time zones all the way up to weeks or even months. The XENTAURIX Education System is already utilized by numerous organizations, including universities, as an audio-visual information and advanced-education platform. Numerous channels can simultaneously be streamed, recorded, and played back. The integration of existing users is simplified through the support of the Active Directory. 3

4 The user interface was designed on the basis of Windows Silverlight for simple, intuitive operation. With the available tools, specially customized layouts can be generated via drag & drop and stored as your own presets. The basic configuration of the XBL Broadcaster user interface includes four configurable presets. This user interface is bound to excite you! Use our GUI tools to create your own user interface. XENTAURIX product and system solutions are exceptionally user friendly, intuitive, and attractively designed. 4

5 Tools To modify or create an individual layouts, a variety of tools is available. Such tools include e.g. Player for live viewing and playback, calendar, metadata, editor, data graphs, subtitles, ClipMaker, clip-lists, and storyboard. in transcripts generated by speech recognition. When searches are conducted using key words in bookmarks, subtitles, and audio transcripts, playback is started with split-second accuracy. Generating Clips With the ClipMaker tool, clips can be generated within just a few seconds. The program title is dragged and dropped from the EPG display into the ClipMaker; beginning and end-times are automatically adopted, but can be modified if needed. With just a click then, the clip is generated and available for downloading. An all-inclusive file can be generated from a number of clips. The X-Producer software module with its jog shuttle enables professional editing. Multiscreen Layout as Example Via drag & drop, you have access to the desired number of Players, as well as a calendar, on the user interface. Once TV channels are selected, all broadcasts can immediately be watched in sync, either live and/or time-shifted. That s an ideal layout for watching competitions, for example. Storyboard The storyboard is a first-class tool for searching and editing transmitted content. From within playback, it visually displays a chronological image sequence in the pre-configured storyboard window, either as a separate full screen or as a subscreen in the Player. EPG Program Information EPG program information is displayed in the Metadata Tool for the complete time period of the recording. Hovering the mouse over the metadata calls up thumbnails. Playback is started with a double-click. Specified information can be analyzed and displayed directly from the search screen. Querying Metadata Recordings and specific broadcast contents can be targeted through full-text searches of the metadata as well as in EPG data, as-run logs, bookmarks, subtitles, and even Configuration/Administration Our optimally structured and laid out administration and configuration areas can be adapted both optically and functionally to the system s architecture. In addition, the status displays clearly visualize the operational status of all physical and virtual devices/modules. By double-clicking on a module, you can switch over to a more advanced level of configuration. Administration/configuration are easy to operate, self-explanatory, and can be remotely configured and controlled via all standard browsers on both Windows und Mac systems. 5
