Embedded Solutions Digital Cameras Camera Phones Printers Thanks to embedded imaging technologies from ArcSoft, today's customers can now manage, process, and print their images without ever having to transfer their pictures to a PC. ArcSoft offers four embedded software imaging solutions that enhance photos taken by amateur photographers. They are available as software development kits (SDKs) for digital camera and camera phones. The includes FaceTracking, Smile Detection, Blink Detection, and Automatic Red-Eye Removal. These address problems that arise when capturing portrait photos. The includes Anti-Shaking which reduces blur, Dynamic Lighting which brightens underexposed areas, and Smart De-Noise which reduces photo noise. The ArcSoft Panorama solution includes StillCapture and BurstCapture, which create panoramic images using multiple photos, and VideoCapture which creates an image out of a video clip. The ArcSoft Creative and Fun Technologies include FunnyFace which gives photos an expressive touch, and Creativity Embedded which offers frames, clip art, greetings and more.
54 The ArcSoft FaceTracking engine for digital cameras and camera phones enables imaging devices to locate and center on a person's face, automatically and accurately. Through this amazing technology, users can capture and create beautiful portraits by using face priority auto focus, auto exposure, facial expression, and skin color enhancements. Our solution gives software engineers and device makers a solid base for developing applications that offer real-time preview effects (such as adding a moustache on a person's face, etc.). Optimized memory and CPU performance for ARM platforms Real-time on-camera solution, no user intervention required Easy integration Functions Supports multi-face tracking and detection Supports multi-angle tracking Detects and locks in new faces Robustly detects in different postures and expressions on photos taken under various lighting conditions Applications ArcSoft FaceTracking can be used as base technology to enable third party applications, including: Auto Adjustments (Face Priority Auto Focus, Auto Exposure): Adjustments of exposure and focus can be made real-time, as soon as the face is detected. The process is automatic and requires no user intervention. Fun Real-Time Effects: Comical effects can be applied to the face in real-time, such as adding a hat on the person's head, putting a fun border around him or her, etc. Pan & zoom in digital frames Tracking different postures and facial expression under various lighting environments
ArcSoft Smile Detection The ArcSoft Smile Detection engine helps digital cameras and camera phones automatically detect when subjects are smiling and capture the photo at this happiest moment. Combined with other ArcSoft technologies such as ArcSoft FaceTracking, Blink Detection, and Red-Eye Removal, even inexperienced users can easily create beautiful portraits of family and friends. High detection rate and low error rate High performance Recognizes a variety of smiles such as a wide happy smile or a contented grin Can be integrated with third party Face Tracking engines Proven in the market Applications Finds smiles and automatically captures them without pressing the shutter Replaces the traditional timer mode to better control the capture time Captures multiple photos so that you can choose the best ones! EMBEDDED 55 Technology Benefits Reduces hand-shaking usually introduced when pressing the shutter Helps you take your own picture by capturing your entire face Recognizes smiles of different intensities and angles
56 ArcSoft Blink Detection The ArcSoft Blink Detection engine helps digital cameras and camera phones avoid capturing a photo when subjects are blinking. In the typical scenario, the user captures the photo and then the capture device, using ArcSoft Blink Detection, alerts the user to any closed eyes detected in the photo. Combined with other ArcSoft technologies such as ArcSoft FaceTracking, Smile Detection, and Red-Eye Removal, even inexperienced users can make sure everyone's face looks "picture-perfect" with every shot. High detection rate and low error rate High performance Can be integrated with third party Face Tracking engines ArcSoft Auto Red-Eye Removal The ArcSoft Auto Red-Eye Removal (RER) solution is developed based on a patent-pending ArcSoft Auto Red-Eye algorithm, which offers high quality, high efficiency, and high performance. Three different algorithms are available, providing a range of detection vs. accuracy results. Our solutions range from requiring no user interaction, required, to allowing for optional manual control, to providing a preview of the results and requiring a user confirmation. Our natural fix results keep the subtle lighting details of the original picture. Supports "Timed" mode to limit the maximum processing time Automatically detects and fixes all red eyes in the photo Supports input of image data in lines or stripes/bands Solutions available for digital still cameras (DSCs), camera phones, and printers
The ArcSoft Anti-Shaking technology for digital cameras and camera phones helps imaging device makers deliver real-time, on-camera blur-removal functions for their devices. Our technology is designed to effectively eliminate blurs caused by accidental handshaking or moving subjects. It provides an intelligent removal mechanism that eliminates not just overall blur caused by handshaking, but also local blurs caused by moving subjects. The ArcSoft Anti-Shaking technology is entirely software-based, so it reduces hardware cost while prolonging battery life. Built on the patent-pending ArcSoft Anti-Shaking software algorithm, our technology offers quality, efficiency, and performance. It requires minimal memory usage, making it highly suitable for low profile embedded systems including digital cameras and camera phones. 57 Pure software-based technology Real-time on-device solution, no user intervention required Optimized resource usage and performance for ARM platforms Easy integration Reduces overall blur caused by accidental handshaking Reduces local blur caused by moving subjects or slow shutter speeds Without Anti-Shaking With Anti-Shaking
58 ArcSoft Dynamic Lighting The ArcSoft Dynamic Lighting engine compensates for unfavorable lighting conditions by brightening underexposed areas and balancing overexposed areas, and then enhancing the dynamic range. This new technology gives camera and camera phone makers an additional opportunity to provide advanced enhancement functions built in to their devices. Combining ArcSoft Dynamic Lighting's high success rate, low error rate, and high performance with the ArcSoft PerfectPortrait technologies (ArcSoft FaceTracking, Blink Detection, Smile Detection, and Red-Eye Removal) lets end users optimize the faces in their photos. The best lighting conditions and facial expressions can be achieved right from a mobile device! Brightens underexposed areas Balances overexposed areas Enhances dynamic range High success rate High performance Before After The ArcSoft Smart De-Noise solution for digital cameras and camera phones automatically removes photo noises, efficiently and easily. ArcSoft Smart De-Noise technology is entirely software-based, which makes it both highly cost-effective and able to address resource consumption issues found in many of today's PC-based solutions. Designed exclusively for camera phones and digital cameras, our solution boasts great performance and is recognized by handset makers worldwide for its outstanding operability. Pure software-based technology Optimized for resource usage and performance on ARM platforms Easy integration No user intervention required Effectively preserves image details Before After Reduces noises through automatic noise detection, based on specific camera sensors and ISO values Effectively preserves image details
ArcSoft Panorama Panorama Family ArcSoft StillCapture Panorama The ArcSoft StillCapture Panorama engine embedded technology enables users to create panoramic photos with real-time, on-device photostitching using their digital camera or camera phone. The high performance engine provides fast loading times and an excellent user experience. Specific features can be customized based on the device and on your business needs. EMBEDDED 59 Panorama ArcSoft BurstCapture Panorama The ArcSoft BurstCapture Panorama engine lets end users rotate in place with their digital camera or camera phone while the engine automatically captures, determines overlap, and stitches the frames into a single panoramic picture. Press down ArcSoft VideoCapture Panorama The ArcSoft VideoCapture Panorama solution is a post-processing technology that takes an imported video clip of an entire scene and produces a single panoramic image.
60 Creative and Fun Technologies Creative and Fun Technologies ArcSoft FunnyFace is an imaging device add-on that gives your photo an expressive touch.
