2 Welcome to the Thunderstake The information contained in this guide will help you to set up your very own TSC masternode. If you feel like you need clearer information or in case of being stuck on a certain step, do not hesitate to ask the Thunderstake staff for further information. Requirements: The Requirements to set up a TSC masternode are as follow: 1) (one million) TSC for the collateral 2) though, not strictly a requirement the team strongly recommends a virtual private server (vps) VPS Deployment: You can use any VPS service provider but for this guide. We will use vultr as an example of how to set it up. First, you need to fund your vultr account. To estimate your monthly costs you can check their prices on Their payment methods include: Credit card, Paypal, BTC and BCH, Alipay, WeChat Pay After you have verified your account with some initial payments you are able to choose Bitcoin which will give you the opportunity to top up your VPS account either with bitcoin or bitcoin cash. In any case, check if there are any promotions for discounts available first (simply by googling vultr discount or vultr coupon) sometimes they have great starter discounts available. 2 P age

3 Now deploy a new server instance. We recommend the 1024 MB Cloud Compute (VC2) instance type: TSC: Of course what you'll need next is the masternode collateral, which will be exactly TSC plus the transaction fee of about TSC. So in case you are planning on buying TSC for your masternode from an exchange, remember that you will need a tiny bit more than the collateral to cover the transaction fees. 2a) Encrypt Wallet Make sure your wallet is encrypted by clicking on Settings > Encrypt Wallet The passphrase should be a combination of at least over 20 characters. Do not forget your passphrase, otherwise, you will not be able to access your coins and they will be forever lost. 2b) genkey In your wallet click on Tools > Debug console and in the input field of the following window type: masternode genkey 3 P age

4 The output will look something like the following: Make sure you have access to the resulting string further on by either keeping the console open or copying the string to a text editor of your liking. 2c) masternode address For the next step you need to come up with an alias for your masternode. This alias can be anything but for the sake of this guide we will go with mn1 In the same console window of step 2b) type the following into the input field: getaccountaddress mn1 (if you want to choose a different alias, replace mn1 with the name you prefer) The resulting string is your masternode wallet address. 4 P age

5 2e) collateral Now we send exactly tsc to the address we get from step 2c. The amount is in turn the collateral for your very own masternode means the coins are not spent/lost, but rather locked up for the lifetime of your masternode. When you put the exact address into the Pay To field of the send tab the label will change to the alias you chose in step 2c. If the label does not change, doublecheck the address you typed in (remember you can use copy & paste to make things easier). After you click on send you need to enter your passphrase. If the passphrase was correct a similar window like this will pop up: 5 P age

6 Check again if the inputs were correct and confirm the collateral transaction by clicking on Yes. To successfully complete the next step the transactions needs to be confirmed. This will take about six minutes on average. On the transactions table (click on the tab Transactions ) there needs to be a check mark in front of the row of the corresponding transaction. 3) Writing the Masternode Configuration File 3.1) txhash We need two additional values for the configuration file: The transaction hash and the index of the output blocks (which will be either 0 or 1). To receive those values, go back to your console and send the following command: masternode outputs The result will be a json formatted text similar to the following: 3.2) Populating the configuration file In the wallet, under Tools, click Open Masternode Configuration File : 6 P age

7 In the config file you need to create a new entry of the following syntax: <label> <ip:port> <key> <txhash> <outputidx> Replace each placeholder with your own values. Do not enter the angle brackets ( < and > )! Do enter a space between each value! Explanation label the second value you ve written into the console in step 2c. ip:port the ip of your vps concatenated with :37888 which is the wallet s port (do not forget the colon between ip and port) key the result of step 2b txhash the string of letters and numbers you received with step 3.1 (do not include double quotes) outputidx the number next to txoutputidx you received with step 3.1 (this will be either 0 or 1) The row of the example will be the following: 4) Setting up the cold wallet on your vps instance 4.1) Log in On the server dashboard of your vps provider click the three dots of the instance row, then click on View Console 7 P age

8 A terminal will load up and asks you to enter your vps credentials. You can access them by clicking on the three dots again, followed by a click on Server Details : Figure 1: Successfully logging in You can use vultr s own terminal windows above, though we recommend using a more sophisticated tool like MobaXterm for Windows ( free version - ) or Terminus for macos ( free version - ) 8 P age

9 In this guide we will use MobaXterm from now on: Click on Session to create a new session: Configure your session of type SSH: Click on the character button to add your root account. Now click on New and enter the same credentials as above: 9 P age

10 Next click on the checkmark to select the root user and click OK: In the sessions tab (on the left) you can log into your vps by double-clicking the entry: 4.2) Download and unpack the wallet Enter the following successively: cd ~ && mkdir tsc2 wget tar.gz -P ~/tsc2 chmod +x ~/tsc2 -R 10 P age

Finally, start the daemon again:./tsc2/tscd -daemon The response should be the following: Check the status of your masternode../tsc2/tsc-cli masternode status The response should look like this: Now go to your local wallet again and click on the Masternodes tab: If your masternode isn t listed there restart your wallet first. 12 P age

13 Now either click on Start all or select the row of your masternode and click on Start alias : You should get the following pop-up: Finally, check the status of your masternode again in the terminal../tsc2/tsc-cli masternode status The result should read Masternode successfully started : Congratulations!
