WORDPRESS! SESSION 1 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS PATRICIA IYER MSN RN LNCC

WORDPRESS! SESSION 1 WordPress! It's About Time: Question & Answers Session 1 Pat: Good evening, this is Pat Iyer and we're so happy that you were able to join us tonight. We have the opportunity for you to ask questions about anything that you learned in the first session and anything that has come up since we were together regarding the course. We are thrilled that you're joining us tonight and we know that the Vice Presidential Debate is going on. When Paul and I planned this course months ago we didn't know that the Presidential candidates would be debating on Tuesday night. Paul: And they didn't consult with us either, so I don't know what that's all about Pat. Pat: Amazing, just amazing. We will be having the class as planned on Tuesday night. If you are involved in watching the debates we will be taping the evening and we will make that link available to you as soon as it is posted. What I'd like to do is to unmute you and give you an opportunity to ask some questions. If there turns out to be a lot of background noise in the session tonight we're going to mute people or we'll let you know that we're muting people and you can type in questions, but otherwise what we'll do is give you a chance to talk. I'm going to unmute everybody and give you an opportunity to ask Paul or I questions. 2

And you're all being unmuted right now. We can hear you and I hear some traffic noises. If you got background noises in your environment, and I hear a radio sound, if you can turn that off that will be great, and I'm not sure where it's coming from. Okay, what I'm going to do because we can't seem to control the sound is to mute you all and ask you to type in some questions. Carolyn is asking a question, She said that she registered her domain name and there's lots of things to opt-in. I'm not sure about purchasing the SSL certificate and how about s?" Paul, do you think you could address that for her? I'm sorry Paul, you were muted accidently. Can you start again? Paul: Okay, Carolyn while I'm answering your question if you can just type into the question box and let us know who your hosting company is and who your registrar is then I can answer it a little bit more specific to those two. When you said they asked you about and SSL I'm going to assume that you were referring to your hosting company, is that correct? Pat: I'm waiting for Carolyn's response. In the meantime if others of you have questions then this is a great opportunity to bring them up. It looks like Carolyn is offline at the moment. I know that she has signed in and off once before. She may be reconnecting right now. This is a good opportunity for any of you who are on the call to think about a question or questions that you have for Paul. Paul: To spur people's memories, remember what we did - we talked about keywords, searching for those, finding out what good words would be for you to use on your website and your domain name. And keep in mind when we start to talk about the third session, when we talk about blogging and when Pat's talking about content and creating articles and posts and pages and things that people will be reading on your site, you may want to keep in mind what we talked about with 3

the keyword research because even an article or a page is something that you'll be doing keyword research for. We also then moved onto picking a domain name or going over to a registrar where you would sign up and select your name and register it so nobody else can use it. Then from there we actually went into the hosting company, HostGator, where you can sign up and get the account. Pat: We do have the answer for you Paul; that GoDaddy is the registrar for Carolyn s domain name and she said that she has not secured the hosting company yet. Paul: Okay, it sounds like you already have the domain name registered with GoDaddy. If they're going to be just your registrar that is all you need. You don't need all that other extra things that they're selling you, all those upsells. When you get your hosting over at HostGator or any other company that's where all your content is going to go, that's where you will actually be able to create an unlimited number of accounts. For example, when I created "CrushCreditCardDebt" as my domain I'll be able to create an on there as info@crushcreditcarddebt or even Paul@crushcreidtcarddebt.com, anything I want and you'll be able to do that through your hosting company. GoDaddy is not the only registrar. They like to sort of help you out, if you will, and offer that as a service. And when I say add that as a service that also comes at an extra price which is something that you don't need to do. Just say no to all that extra stuff and you'll save some money too. Pat: The extra stuff can add up because I remember when I registered one of my domain names through GoDaddy I signed up for hosting and for accounts. I turned out to not need those extra services. They were contacting me at least a couple of times. People from GoDaddy called 4

me once and said we know you have hosting and you haven't put up your website yet. I explained first that I hadn't gotten around to it and then second of all I was going to host somewhere else. They gave me a refund on the services that I haven't used which I didn't expect and thought was very nice. Paul: Oh, that's great. I love it when they do things like that or when companies do things like that. Let me answer something else that you asked about, SSL. That's really going to refer to when you have a hosting account. Check to make sure that you didn't sign up for hosting when you registered the domain name unless that was your intention. If you wanted to have both at GoDaddy, which is something that I personally do not recommend, there are other people that will say it's easier to do that. It s one stop shopping and you just deal with one company and one bill and it saves you the step from having to set your DNS servers like we did during the class portion of this last time. But to me I think it's better and all my sites are that way where you keep them separate. Pat: Carolyn is asking about where goes, "Does it go through the account, through the Outlook account?" You know Carolyn I'm going to unmute you and see if the background noise is at an acceptable level because it might be easier for you to ask Paul your questions. Let's see what happens. All right, Carolyn you're unmuted if you would like to talk. Paul: That will only work of course if her computer has a mic, if she's on her computer and if configured correctly. It doesn't sound like that is the case. Pat: Carolyn, we'll try to do it without having you speak. The question again, Paul, was, Where does the go, through her Outlook account, and how does she manage s, I'm thinking, that if she purchased a package with the extras? 5

Paul: Okay. Here's the way works. A lot of times you think that magically comes to your computer into Outlook when you turn on your computer, but in reality actually follows the real life analogy if you will of how mail works. When I send an message it's just like if I typed the letter or if I wrote out a letter and it goes to the post office. The post office then transports it onto the receiver's post office and from there it ends up at your house. In terms of physical there's really just one physical letter that's going from the sender to the receiver. In terms of and electronic mail what happens is you'll set up an account on your hosting company just like I said I might or next week when things are ready I will set up CrushCreditPaul@crushcreditcarddebt.com. That happens on my hosting account because all the mail needs to go where my files go. If somebody were to send an to Paul@crushcreditcarddebt.com it would actually go to my HostGator account and sit there in my mailbox. Now what I would need to do and what I will do is go into Outlook or if you're on a Mac go into mail or whatever your program is and you have to create a new account. And the new account basically says, "Where's the post office for this new account that you're creating," and then basically I tell it that it's at CrushCreditCardDebt.com. I give it my User ID, my name Paul@crushcreditcarddebt.com, and then I would also go in and give it the password because when you set up an account you want it to be safe and secure. Along with the ID you give it a password. That information gets logged and entered into Outlook so that when you connect, when you log up, or when you run Outlook the first thing it's going to do as it goes it basically says, "Is there mail waiting for me at the post office?" If anybody sent you to that address it's sitting on your hosting account. Outlook at that point will go to your hosting account with the credentials of the and the password and would say, "Is there any sitting here," and if it is it will actually 6

copy it from your hosting account and put it onto your own computer into your Outlook account. Now it sounds complicated, but one of the good things with HostGator is when you first go in and you log-in to your webmail, when you set up that account, there's actually a file that you can download that says, "If you're using Outlook just download this file and then click on it." And when you click on it, it opens up Outlook and it automatically will configure that to say that there's a new account and give it all the information. At that point your will automatically come into Outlook just like your other and will show up as a different account. Pat: All right, it looks like we've answered Carolyn's question. She says thanks for the answers. There was a question that we didn't cover last time, Paul, that I wanted to clarify for the person who was asking about WordPress and hosting and domain registration. And just to be very clear WordPress is a type of software. Just like you can do word processing in Word you can do word processing in Word Perfect; you can do word processing in the Mac version of those programs. WordPress is the software that is used specifically in this focus of this course for creating a website. There is other software that is used to create websites. I've used FrontPage which was an earlier Microsoft product. Dreamweaver is a more sophisticated program is another type of software. WordPress is software that basically fuels your website and then the domain name and the registration are entirely different, that part of the background of getting that site up and available. Did you want to add anything to that Paul in terms of specifically what WordPress is? Paul: No, I think that's a good example. You know I like to use real life examples and make the analogy. What you can think about is when you get a hosting account think of it as buying vacant land. You buy vacant 7

land and you can put whatever you want on there as long as it goes along with the ordinances. The local ordinance says you can't put up a skyscraper or maybe it's a dry town and you can't open a liquor store. You can't sell firearms, whatever it is you kind of have to play by the rules of the town. As I mentioned last time hosting accounts have certain rules as well. Some say you can't do pornography, you can't sell firearms, you can't do anything illegal, and you can't have a gambling site. For the most part you can basically do whatever you want with your website just like you can do almost whatever you want with this vacant piece of land. Once you buy that land and it's yours you can develop it any way you want. You might put a one family house; you might put a duplex, again if it's all allowed. Let's just assume everything at this point is going to be allowed. You can build whatever you want on that space. The same thing is true with a hosting account. You can put any type of construction of a website. Now the reason why I say construction is there are actually different technologies and different ways that you can build a website. One of them is using something called HTML which stands for "Hyper Text Markup Language". That's in essence a programming language to develop websites. Another one you may have heard of if you have techie friends or somebody talked to you about building a website for you, there are things called Drupal and Joomla and you can create websites with them. Dreamweaver is another type of program that will help build your website. All of these are ways that you can build a website on your hosting account just like you can build whatever you want on a vacant piece of land, you know you might want to build a brick building or a wood constructed building or something made out of tin and aluminum. What we are doing is we're using WordPress to build our website and it's just a nice way because it makes it very easy to do that. Think of it almost as having a prefab house that you can easily construct for yourself. 8

Pat: I think the key is it's easy to use. It looks a little intimidating at first, but it's very easy to use. If you can type on Word you can type in WordPress. I do have another question, "Can you provide additional examples of how the autoresponder gets configured and works with HostGator?" Paul: Okay. Your autoresponder will be configured to do everything that you want, obviously. It's almost separate to say how it is configured with HostGator. Let's go back to a real life analogy. HostGator again is your vacant piece of land that you're going to build upon. We're going to start out with WordPress and we're going to build a website on our vacant land with WordPress. Once our site is up we're going to incorporate the services of an autoresponder like AWeber so that when people come to our website and they see our site there's going to be an opt-in form with an offer there. Now that form is actually going to be a bunch of code. It's going to look kind of tricky and messy, but it doesn't matter what it looks like because we're simply going to copy it and paste it and think of it as having a presence on our website. Now once that presence is established you can leave it alone because as people opt-in as you collect their s your autoresponder will handle the rest. That leaves the second part of, "Well, once it's set up all is well in good, but what about the stuff before it's set up and how do we set it up," and that's going to be a matter of creating the account. If you went to Best AutoResponder.com, which again is my affiliate link or if you go straight to AWeber and create an account, the first thing that you'll have to do is enter in all of your information. Then it's going to ask you to build a list. We'll actually get into this a little bit more detail on I believe it will be Session 4 and we'll finish that up, but at that point we'll say that we want to create a list and it's going to generally be based off of your opt-in list. I might have a list if I'm giving away a free report. Let's just say I can call it my report list, and the creation of the opt-in form that I will eventually put on to my website. 9

Now I might decide I want to change that and instead of giving just a report I might want to give out a video. I can create a list called "Video" and anytime anybody opts in to that list they get the video and those names go on to a different list. When we talk about having your list it actually can be a collection of lists and we'll dive in to a little more detail a little bit later about that. Pat: If I could just add a little bit to that Paul, I have an opt-in list on my website, and offer special reports, free reports, 40,000 medical abbreviations. When somebody opts in to the list they receive an from my autoresponder with a link. They have an opportunity to go to that link and click on the link and download everything. It is done when I'm sleeping in the middle of the night and when I'm working in the office. I have no human responsibility to go in and look at that and send the file. The autoresponder does that for me. And William, who is the person asking, Paul, is saying, "Is the autoresponder strictly for the purpose of selling or distributing products or services?" Paul: Is it strictly? My answer to that is no because it will be a tool to do so, but your autoresponder is going to be a mechanism for keeping in contact with people who sign up so that you can build a relationship with them. That relationship is what's going to help you be able to offer them goods or services and have them purchase them from you. My rule of thumb is when I'm sending out s is that I will give out 80% of content, meaning I will give out free information or give them something that's helpful to them without anything in my expectations that they'll be giving back to me. But then the other 20% will be an offer of something that I think that they would benefit from which they would actually have to purchase. They could be purchasing something, one of my products directly or it could be somebody else's products, where I would get a commission. 10

Pat: But you can use an autoresponder for not only selling services but providing information, you know for example if somebody signs up on my list they will receive every five days a brief article on how to improve your writing skills. At the end of seven or eight s that are pumped out by the autoresponder every five days there is a link to encourage somebody to buy the book that I put together to improve your writing skills. But the information on those six s that come out to them at specific set intervals is purely informational. Does this help the person asking about case management in the last session? If you wanted to develop a clientele and provide little bits of information about case management, for example, you can put in your autoresponder anything that you want to go out at any interval. It could be every day. It could be every five days. It could be every thirty days. You set up the frequency and then the beauty of the system is that you could be in Hawaii on a vacation and your autoresponders are going out at that preprogrammed time without you having to push the button to physically send it. There is another question, Paul, and William, if we haven't covered that to your satisfaction please type in a question and we'll be happy to clarify. William says that he can see the true value of this now. Yes, it's a beautiful system. Paul: Let me do this, let me actually log into one of my accounts for AWeber and show you really where the beauty comes in. One of my sites is a site about gratitude, Allaboutgratitude.com, and when people sign up what they're getting is my opt-in or my free report. It's really an every day, seven days a week if they want it that talks about gratitude and how they can make their life better. A typical autoresponder as you can see here is when they first signed up the first message that goes out; it's called in this case "Interval Zero." It means it goes out immediately and it's going to be this welcome . I'll show you what it says. 11

Basically it says, "Thank you for taking time and subscribing to the Burst." It's a welcome, "Thank you for showing up." Now automatically three days later because this interval says three, I send them another . Now I don't have to this because once they're signed up this is my system so I don't have to keep track of this. Three days later I send them an that says basically this is here to say, "I hope you've received at least two bursts so far. If you didn't get it here's some instructions on how you can safe list it," meaning to make sure it doesn't go into the spam . That's three days later. After that, a full month later after those three days. This will be really like day number 33. I send them a message saying, "Look at this! Can you believe it, it's been about a month already." Now notice what I can do here with an autoresponder is I can put this code in that says, so if you would get this, William, and if you were on my list it would say, "Greetings, William." It's very personalized to you. Imagine if you got an from me that said, "Greetings, William! Can you believe it's been about a month already since you first signed up for the Gratitude Bursts? I just wanted to follow-up and let you know I'm grateful to have you as a subscriber. I hope you're enjoying the quotes as well as the little thoughts included after the quote. I included a link to the Gratitude Blog. Have you taken a peek at it yet? If not jump on over to (and I give them my link) and see if anything strikes a chord. Comments are always welcome." Something like this actually sounds like it's a personal . When people get it they may not realize that this is automated because how do I sign it? Paul. This is developing the know, like, and trust relationship. Then two weeks after that I send another - just checking in - and two months later I send them a quick question. These will automatically go out to them and these are known as follow-up messages. If you were to sign up today you would get this first message immediately and then three days later on Sunday. See it doesn't matter what day of the week it is, you would get this next message. 12

Now if Pat signs up on Friday she's going to get the first message and then on Monday she's automatically going to get this one. Every day s are going out but they're going out to different people depending on when they signed up. These are follow-up messages and these are scheduled. If you remember I said when people sign up I'm sending them out a message every day. Well, I don't care if you signed up two years ago or if you signed up last week or if you just signed up yesterday, when I send out that Gratitude Burst everybody gets the same message every day and that's called a broadcast message. I can send out a broadcast message and here you'll see and basically these are my sent broadcasts. You can see that I sent out my Gratitude Burst today on the 11 th. Yesterday was the 10th, the 9th, the 8th, the 7th, the 6th, and I can even send out sort of a generic message to everybody. It doesn't have to be just what I'm telling them. These are when I have something important to say I can send it out. Now not everybody is sending out an every day, that's not their opt-in. You may have a special event or you're doing a special program or if you want to make a special announcement to let people on your list know about something. Let's say your website is about cooking and you just finished your new cookbook and you want to let everybody know that it's available and as a member of your list you're going to give them 10% off. You can send out a broadcast to everybody because you want everybody on your list to know that you have this offer. It doesn't matter when they signed up, the fact that they're on your list now means that you want them to know. There are different types of messages that you can send out and you're right, it is very powerful and very helpful. I hope that answers it even further and demonstrates why you would want to get an autoresponder. Pat: Along with this while you have AWeber open there was another question regarding when we build the opt-in list. Where do those names go? 13

Paul: You can see on this particular account that I have each one of these list names; this refers to a different list. You can have many lists do different things. While I'm working with my Gratitude quote we come over here, opt-in forms on Aweber known as web forms. I can actually have different forms to do different things for different places. When somebody sees one of these, I'll show you what it looks like. We can preview this first one here. This one is very generic and very plain. It's not very fancy and you can see I haven't used it much because I didn't like it. It was just almost like a test. This one here the same kind of thing, this one I know is going to be better. This is the main one that I used on my website. Where is the one I just created? It was a little more vibrant. Here's one that I could use. They give you different designs and actually let me create a new one. Let's go back here and I'll just say, "Create a new web form." You can see that they have all sorts of different types of opt-in forms and you can see that they have hundreds of them. If we want to celebrate or have a celebration theme you can see all sorts of different examples and then you can customize these a little bit and change some of the colors and that sort of thing. When you create this and you put this on your website, to answer your question and I haven't forgotten it, those names go into your list. If I come to the list, for example here's a list I'm just starting up, you can see that names and things of people are here. They automatically get added in to your list and AWeber controls that. One of the nice things that AWeber does is that they will also, as I mentioned last time, take care of the CAN-SPAM and have all the requirements there so you're in compliance. Pat: And one of the requirements, Paul, is that you have to have a physical address at the bottom of your so that somebody knows that you're a real person and could contact you if they needed to. 14

Paul: Yep, you need the physical address. You also have to have an unsubscribe link so anybody at any time can just click and unsubscribe and all that is handled per account. When I send out 1,500 of the same s to 1,500 different people each one gets their own generated dedicated link to unsubscribe and I don't have to worry anything about that, which is nice. Now I will say right now I'm talking about AWeber. Constant Contact, icontact, Infusionsoft, 1ShoppingCart - there are a bunch of different people out there or companies that do the same thing. I like to use AWeber and you can see I am using it just because it's nice and simple. The prices are reasonable, and it's not complicating the issue with things. Some of the other ones like Infusionsoft do a fantastic job. They do a lot of other things like shopping carts and autoresponders and does all of that, but that's $99 a month. At this point I don't want to spend that much for the integration of those. I stick with AWeber. Pat: We have another question: "Can the list be exported to Excel or Access?" Paul: Absolutely. Actually let me go with this membership site. It's in beta. You can see I have seven names here and I can export it right here, that's because I have the setting set. But yep, you can export them by clicking on the button and you can actually back up everything, all your sites at once, and download those which is something that I suggest. Even though I have all my names stored on AWeber you know one of the most valuable things that you'll have in your business is your list, the people that are on your list. Now if AWeber happens to crash or go out of business, the likelihood that these companies would do that is very slim, but it is a possibility. It's always good to have your own copy of that and if not I know that I have a copy of it that's stored, that's safe and sound, that's separate from where they are. Pat: Okay, we have another question from William, Are follow-up messages from the autoresponders only available on AWeber? 15

Paul: Nope, any good autoresponder service will allow you to do that and that's really what autoresponders were first designed to do, was to automatically send out those follow-up messages at whatever interval you specify. If you think about it they are automatically responding to something happening. When somebody signs up it's automatically sending out that first on day one, automatically sending out the next one whenever you specify the number of days later, and on and on. Pat: Just to recap and put it in a context, for example, for legal nurse consultants, you could have a special report on your website that an attorney could download and then set up in intervals for when you want to send the next message to that person who has downloaded your information. This will periodically that individual and he can or she can stay on the list or unsubscribe at any time and you get notified when people unsubscribe. And you can also use a system like this to send out a broadcast. For example, I may make a decision that I'm going to send out a message to my list next Tuesday morning at 4:00 in the morning and I can do that and I can set that up tonight and it will be pumped out at the time that I specify and everybody on my list will receive that particular message at that time. You can set up autoresponders to go out at particular times and you can also set up broadcasts. The difference between the two is the broadcast is something you're putting in to the system for a particular date and time. The autoresponder is the same kind of message, but you're defining your intervals for when you want those messages to go out. And I'm checking Paul to see if there are any additional questions and to give you a chance to absorb what we're talking about. Paul, did you want to say anything else about AWeber while people are thinking about additional questions? Paul: I don't think so. 16

AWeber will give you your first month for a $1 and then after that it's $19 and that's good up to your first 500 subscribers, $19 a month. If you go over that you're at 501 or 600 or 800 then it goes up another $10 and that's good up to 2,500 subscribers. And depending on what you're using your list for you can just say that's the cost of business to keep the goodwill going and provide them information to keep you at their forefront of their mind. Because as you send them s they'll open it up and soon as they see that they'll think of you, "Oh yeah, I remember. I got that report and this person is the expert on whatever your niche is." They're in front of your mind. I know I have clients that use it specifically just to keep in touch with them and develop that rapport. I have other clients that are using it to actually monetize it and they're sending out, just like we said, information about their products that they're selling, when they're having sales. This is true for online marketers as well as people with brick and mortar or artists who are selling their paintings and they announce when they're having shows. They send out coupon offers. When you say coupon offers everybody thinks, "Oh that sounds so technical." Well, the coupon offer that people send out can be as simple as if you're interested in coming to the show, print out this and I will give you 10% off any purchase you make. I have people who actually get graphic designers to create what I call "the pretty looking coupon" as an image, as a graphic, and they do the same thing. You know, print this out, cut it out, and bring it to the show. It doesn't have to be very complicated. Pat: Paul, I have a request to repeat the difference between a broadcast and an autoresponder, Let me explain how I do them and maybe Paul uses them a little bit differently. When somebody signs up on my list there's a series of autoresponders that go out at predetermined intervals. In this case I give everybody six tips on improving writing skills and they are scheduled to go out every five days until the series is over. I can also send out broadcast which I do 17

twice a week or once a week to the people who've signed up on my list and share with them a link to a blog post or I'll talk about a post that's coming up. Or I'll explain something funny that happened to me. That's not already set up in advance in my mind. I don't say every Tuesday morning at 9:00 I'm going to send out a message. I'll do that when I have something to say or something to promote or something to share. You can set up a broadcast on the fly. You can sit in your office and say I'm going to contact all of my personal injury attorneys today at 11:00 with a link to my blog post. You could set that up and it goes in the queue and it literally goes out as quickly as it can be lined up to be sent out by the system. You don't necessarily set that up at a particular interval. Now Paul, I don't know if I've totally confused things and maybe you can rescue me if I'm still being unclear. Paul: What was the question, how do I use it or what's the difference? Pat: What's the difference between a broadcast and an autoresponder? Paul: All right, the example I like to use is think about if you were a principal at an elementary school. At the beginning of each year you need to send out an to everybody in the school or all the first graders that you're just dying say, "Welcome to your new school. We hope you enjoy it and we know you're going to be here for at least 5 or 6 years. I'm the principal and I hope everything is well." The beginning of the year you send out a letter to all the second graders that says, "Welcome back. This is your second year. We're happy that you came back," or whatever the message is for the second graders. And then the third graders get their own personal customized message. The fourth graders and the fifth graders each get their own. We'll say there are five grades in the elementary school. Now the principal can sit down that first year that he or she starts and write out five letters 18

and kind of keep them on file. At the start of the school year when everybody comes in, the first graders get all the first grade letters; the second graders get the second grade letter; the third graders get the third grade letter, etc. Depending on when the people start they're going to get a different letter. Now the next year when everybody moves up it's basically like your autoresponder. After one year the people get the next message. Let's just say, to make this even easier, you're starting a brand new school and you have your five letters. There's nobody in the school right now except for first graders coming in. When the first graders come in everybody gets the first grade message and you're done. The next year those first graders move to second grade and now you have a new group of first graders coming in. Well, all the first graders still get that first grade message and all the second graders now get the second message and you're done. The third year you have a new group of messages for new people for the third graders and everybody's just kind of advancing. Depending on when people start is going to reflect which particular letter they get. The same thing is true with your autoresponder. Depending on when people start will depend on what message goes out and when they get it. Now come November the principal may decide, "You know what; we're going to have big Thanksgiving Day celebration." Well, he's going to send out a broadcast message that's going out to everybody. It doesn't matter what grade you are. It doesn't matter when you started in the process. It doesn't matter if you started this year or if you started 4 years ago, everybody is going to get the message to go home to their parents that says, "We're having this big Thanksgiving Day feast. Feel free to make something and send it with your child and come in. Oh, by the way we're going to do a skit in the auditorium talking about how the first Thanksgiving Day meal went." The best way I can explain it is to think about autoresponders as prefixed and time released. Broadcasts are pretty much right now, one shot, sending it out to everybody regardless of when you started. 19

Pat: Thank you, Paul. Another question for you Paul, about next week - this individual is asking would it be a good idea in preparation for next Tuesday to have our domain name from our registrar, the web platform from the hosting company, and link the domain names? Is WordPress next?" Paul: Absitively posolutely. If you can get those two accounts created and then linked together really the first thing we're going to do the next time is actually create the website. We can't do that unless that's all done. If you thought the first session was fun you ain't seen nothing yet. Pat: Now we're getting under the hood depending upon how you would like to use your analogy. This is a reminder that we will be meeting next week from 8:00 to 10:00 Eastern. There is no Q&A session next Thursday night. I will be traveling and I deliberately chose not to have a session because of the flight and the scheduling difficulties that I'll be having next Thursday. But we will be having a Q&A session on the following week on Thursday just like we're doing tonight, but two weeks from tonight, as well as we'll be doing the blogging session in Session 3. We've got a few more minutes for any questions that anyone might have at this point. What might be on your mind? Paul, do you want to give us all like coming attractions of what we're going to cover next week so we can all get excited about the fun that you're planning for us? Paul: Next week, as I said, we're going to be installing WordPress. If I go to the website now, "CrushCreditCardDebt.com," you see there's not much here and when you link yours, depending on what you have on your account because I have multiple domains already I get this nothing looking screen, you might actually get something that has a HostGator image on there. Basically it's not much of a site. Within the first 10 minutes or so, 15 at the most, we're going to actually have a website up and running that people can actually go to and take a look at. Now there won't be a whole lot of content on there, but 20

it will be there. In 10 minutes we'll have that house built on the property but it just won't be furnished yet. That's the exciting part and then we'll make it safe and secure. We'll put some locks on the door so people can't just break in or hack in. We'll add functionality so if there's something extra that you wanted to do we'll show you how to do that. I'll give you some of the functionality that I think you probably want and then also show you how you can find functionality that you might want that somebody else doesn't want. Pat: Another question Paul: Does HostGator offer WordPress already installed? Paul: They don't have it already installed, but they do make it very easy for you to install it. Let me go to my HostGator. Again, because the fact that we have C-Panel, our control panel here, it does make it easy to install. Now I will warn you, some sites have what they call "The One Click Install" for WordPress. I highly recommend that you do not do that. Do not do that because it won't be very safe. Pat: You know in all the times Paul that I've heard the word C-Panel I never knew that it stood for control panel. I feel immensely reassured. Paul: Excellent. Pat: It's just like you've unveiled the curtain on that one point alone. It was always this mystique with the c-panel. You guys are starting off with very good explanations. I'm looking for any other questions. I'm not seeing any, Paul. Again, we will be meeting as planned on Tuesday night. We do apologize for interfering with the Presidential Debates. As Paul mentioned Obama and Romney did not check with us first when they scheduled those debates. We are going to proceed as planned and if you're not able to join us you will be able to watch the replays at your convenience. Paul is going to be processing the replay from Tuesday night. They'll be a replay of tonight as well as transcripts will be available once the sessions have been transcribed. 21

A couple of more questions Paul, before we finish, Are you able to show us which button on the homepage to go to for our hosting? Paul: What button to go to on the homepage? Are you talking about with HostGator? Pat: Let's see if we can get some clarification from the person. Yes, that's what she's asking. Paul: Okay to get hosting, HostGator.com, you want to click on "View Web Hosting Plans," this button right here. It will come up and show you the three different plans that will be applicable at this point. As I mentioned Business Plan is not needed. It's a little bit of overkill at this point. The difference between the Hatchling and the Baby Plan is the Hatchling gives you one domain. You can only have one website. The Baby Plan will allow you to have multiple and unlimited websites if you want. It's really not a manner of if you want one, but when you want one you will have multiple domains. You can either go with the Hatchling and upgrade later or go with the Baby Plan. Regardless of which one you pick you're going to click on the "Order Now Button" and then if you're getting your hosting at someplace else like Namecheap or GoDaddy you would enter your domain name here. The last time I created "CrushCreditCardDebt.com" and before you continue to Step 2 you want to put in SAVE25%. Pat: I thought it was WPCOACHING. Paul: Was it COACHING? Pat: I think so. Paul: WPCOACHING25OFF and that will save you 25% off the cost. Click on continue to Step 2 and then again you can still change your plan at this point and decide how long you want to start for your initial bill to 22

be. You can see if you just go one month its $9.95, but the longer you decide that you want to stick with it the price will decrease. If you go for 2 years, as an example, you can save $53. If you go with less than that obviously you'll be paying a little bit more per month, but it's a less term so you'll be saving less money. These add-ons are not necessarily needed, so you don't have to worry about that. The Site- Lock to secure your website is something that we'll be going over. There are free solutions to do that, so you don't have to worry about that. And we'll also talk about making your website mobile phone or smartphone compatible so it shows up a lot easier. You won't have to worry about that either. Pat: One more question Paul: Do you recommend the toll free number that the business plan offers? Paul: You know I think that's up to you individually. I believe that gives you the free number, but it does not give you the free minutes. I've never used it. If that's something you'd want - check into that. It's something that you'll have to take a look at. The other thing with the Business Plan is it does give you a private SSL which is security and unless you're accepting credit cards with your own merchant account -- this is not saying you're getting credit cards via PayPal or through something else. But if you're going to integrate your own merchant account onto your website which generally means you need somebody technical to do that for you, it's also something that's not needed at this point. Pat: This is your chance to ask more questions of Paul in the remaining few minutes that we have and I'll watch to see if there's anything asked Paul and let you know. Paul: Okay. Pat: I think everybody has absorbed what you've said. I don't see any additional questions. 23

We thank you for being with us tonight and we will talk to you again on Tuesday 8:00 Eastern. Remember that each of the webinars has its own link for participating. Be sure to use the links that Jill sent to you by and if you have any questions or difficulties getting into the member site please let us know and we're happy to help you by . I think everybody was in and registered for the programs prior to tonight and will have an opportunity to download the slides. You know that Paul does use a combination of showing the things live as well as the slides, so you'll see a combination of both live internet and slides in our presentation. Thank you all and goodnight. Paul: Have a great night everybody. Copyright Patricia Iyer 2012 No reproduction 24
