We won t be examining the soybean meal. Please see below for sampling instructions to be provided to OMIC: a. A minimum of thirty (30) representative samples will need to be collected from each hold for each commodity being examined. Surveyors must have equipment that can reach to a depth of at least 24 feet into the hold. b. Samples must be labeled with the following information: i. Master Bill of Lading Number ii. Location within hold sample was taken (e.g. NW area, 10 deep) iii. Date sample taken c. Samples must be delivered to BOBAC CES at 300 Ave. A, Alameda, CA (2) Please copy OAKAGVESSEL@CBP.DHS.GOV and OAKAGDAU@CBP.DHS.GOV on your vessel communications. You may contact our office at x 262 to speak with the inspector overseeing the sampling/inspection of the cargo. The point of contact for the exam will be Agriculture Specialist DeJesus-Gaigalas. You may receive follow up requests from our staff for vessel and vessel agent information. However on the organic soybean meal, sometimes it s required and sometimes not. Then on the organic sunflower seeds, this is the first time we are bringing those in so didn t know if they needed to be sampled. a. Please confirm which commodities must be sampled and I will advise OMIC accordingly who will be managing the process on the 26 th at anchorage. 2. Next question is who in your group should we copy on the vessel agent updates so you can track the incoming vessel? Much Appreciated.
