3 Page 1 1. How to get started To qualify for a Medicareful website: 1. You must be an agent in good standing and registered through Ritter Insurance Marketing s website, RitterIM.com. 2. You must have at least one current state license. 3. You must be appointed with at least one of Ritter s preferred carriers. Regional Marketers are available to discuss carrier contracts available in your area. 2. How do I link to my website? To add a link to your Medicareful website on your business website, add a clickable hyperlink. NOTE: The URL will be the same address as your Medicareful website address. Ritter has banners that can be added to your business website with links to your Medicareful website. It s best to have your site manager update your website by providing them with the link to your Medicareful page. Ritter Insurance Marketing is unable to manage your personal website. 3. Can I set up multiple pages? Each Medicareful page is linked to a specific agent using a code that ties the page to that agent. Each agent can only have ONE code assigned to them, therefore an agent can only have one active Medicareful page at a time. 4. How do I change my URL to a vanity URL? Ex. craigjritter.com redirects to Medicareful.com/craigritter First, the agent needs to own a domain or website URL such as vanitysite.com. Then, the agent needs to have their site manager create a redirect so that when someone browses to vanitysite.com they are automatically redirected to their Medicareful URL.

4 Page 2 5. Adding logos, texts, and business website shortcuts Medicareful offers the ability to make the site a little more personal by adding an agency/business logo to the page. You also have the option to link that logo directly to your business website.

5 Page 3 6. Rules for activating carriers for online enrollment Medicareful s online enrollment feature is currently available for select plans. Requirements for enabling online enrollment buttons on your Medicareful website: 1. Ritter must have on file, copies of all current state licenses for the states in which the agent wishes to offer the online enrollment features. 2. Agent must be fully appointed and certified with the carrier(s) with which they will offer online enrollment. 3. Ritter must receive notification from the carrier, including the date certification was completed. NOTE: Agents must request activation of the online enrollment features; this is not automatically turned on with the activation of a Medicareful website.

6 Page 4 7. How does filtering work? There are many filtering options on Medicareful. There is also a Help with Terms section to help define the filter. Users can filter results by: 1. Product 2. Monthly premium amount and MOOP (maximum out-of-pocket) 3. Rx deductible amount 4. Age, gender, household discount 5. Plan type 6. Carrier The user-friendly filtering options are listed on the left side of the Medicareful plan display page. 8. How do I send a specific plan s enrollment link to a client? Select the chain-link icon for the appropriate plan. The this plan to a friend feature will display and provide you two sharing options. 1. Click the Copy button next to the URL that displays, then paste the URL into an to your client. 2. Click the Envelope icon, enter the client s address, enter a short message, and click Send. IMPORTANT: In order for the link to work correctly, you must have a default program installed on the computer you re using.

7 Page 5 9. How does a client view plan details? The client can select the plan details icon on the right of the plan. Summary Plan Details The summary plan details will display. If the agent is appointed and the online enrollment feature is available, the client can click the Enroll Now option to enroll.

8 Page How do I send a Permission to Contact/Scope of Appointment? There are two simple ways for the client to get to the Permission to Contact/Scope of Appointment (SOA). The first is to direct clients to your main page and have them click Contact Us in the top right-hand corner. Another option is to send them the link to your own Medicareful website followed by /contact on the end. (ex. Using your own personal slug in the website address before the /contact will direct users to your personal SOA/permission-to-contact form.

9 Page 7 Electronic Scope of Appointment (esoa) Your client will enter the required information into the esoa then click Submit. This generates a Lead and an SOA for this client and saves them in your CRM.

10 Page Where do I find my leads? A Lead is always viewable in the agent s CRM ( under the Dashboard, Book, or Leads tab, unless you delete the Lead. Click edit to make any edits to the new Lead. NOTE: There are also search and filter capabilities built into the CRM to make finding a Lead even easier. While editing the Lead, click the SOA tab.

11 Page 9 11a. What should I do with Electronic Scopes of Appointment (esoa)? Your client has sent an esoa to you through Medicareful. Now what? After you receive the SOA, it will display in your CRM. ( Click the SOA tab to edit the Lead. You can change the Appointment Date & Time on the form, be sure to click Save after making any changes. Click the Save and Download option to save the esoa as a PDF and make it available for download and printing. IMPORTANT: After you click Save and Download, the form is no longer editable. The Appointment Date and Time entered on the esoa cannot be edited. We suggest that you don t Save and Download the form until the day of the meeting. If you Save and Download the form prior to the meeting and the day and time change, you will need to generate a new esoa with the corrected appointment information. If the scope is taken during lock-in and the appointment is rescheduled during Annual Enrollment Period, you will still need a new SOA. After you click Save and Download, a PDF of the scope will be saved to your computer. You will need to print and sign this scope prior to the appointment for it to be compliant. You will need to treat this scope like you would any other paper scope, including keeping it for your records and submitting it for processing. For questions contact the Ritter NewBiz team.

12 Page Where do I find my enrollments? You can also find enrollments by clicking the Menu button on Ritterim.com. Then select the myritter tile, followed by the Personal button under the mybiz App header as shown below.

13 Page How can I promote my Medicareful website? There are several ways to promote your Medicareful webpage: Add the website address (including your personal slug) to your business card. Add the website address (including your slug) to your current business website by using a click-able hyperlink. Add the website address to your signature. your clients (following all CMS Marketing guidelines), with your Medicareful website address and explanation of the site. Request specialized marketing materials available through Ritter by contacting the Medicareful Support Desk at o Newspaper ads (full-size, half-page, quarter-page, custom) o Web banners (full banner, leader-board, square, custom) IMPORTANT: For web banners: the agent must have your own Web Master to install the jpg/url to your existing website. Work with Affinity Partners. (see Section 13a) If you don t have a website, we can create a landing page. (see Section 13b) How do I create a landing page for an Affinity Partner? (see Section 13c)

14 Page 12 13a. What is an affinity partner? An affinity partner is a company, organization, or group that you partner with to provide health insurance services. Building a web of affinity partners establishes a professional presence in your community and gives you an air of authority in the local Medicare field. By building this relationship with your affinity partner, you are providing them with a valuable service. The best affinity partners tend to see many customers around Medicare age. Your partnership allows them to refer any questions or requests for assistance to your capable hands. Some popular examples of affinity partners are: Financial: Bank, Credit Union, Financial Planner Professional: CPA, Attorney Retail: Grocery stores, Pharmacies, Check Cashing Community: Senior centers, Independent Living, Churches, Gyms, Food Banks Health care: Physician s groups, Home Health Care Agencies 13b. What is a landing page? A landing page creates a landing spot for interested parties to learn more with only the pertinent information they need. This helps you to deliver a clean, concise, and informative message about the value of Medicareful and your services. Medicareful agents can utilize an unlimited number of these landing pages, each for a different partner, to determine which partnerships bring the most value to your business. Each lead generated from an affinity partner landing page will identify the landing page where the lead was generated and be saved to your CRM. IMPORTANT: For all landing pages: the agent must have their own domain and web hosting account to place the landing page on. If you do not already have your own domain and web hosting, you will need to purchase a personal domain and web hosting by a third party. Ritter does not register/buy domains or host web pages where the landing pages will be contained. Any changes to the landing page HTML/CSS code must be approved and completed by the Medicareful Support Team.

15 Page 13 13c. How do I create a landing page for an affinity partner? First, we gather some information from you. Your logo, profile picture (optional), Medicareful slug, phone number, and a few sentences about you go a long way to creating your unique page. We then prepare an HTML file to share with your local affinity partner s site manager. When they add it to their site, the page will immediately begin providing even more value to your partnership. Agents can also use these prepared pages on their own sites. Contact Ritter s Medicareful Support Desk at for a marketing request form to get started. 14. Do s and Don ts 1. DO NOT send your clients to Medicareful.com. This URL doesn t contain your personal slug and your clients will not be linked to you. 2. DO offer to help clients complete their Medicareful online enrollment in person or on the phone. 3. DO NOT try to embed your Medicareful website into another website! DO add a click-able hyperlink to your business website that points to your Medicareful website. 4. DO NOT use personal pictures for the logo picture. 5. DO NOT use any of the following: - + ~ `@#$%^&*()? <>, in your slug 6. DO try to keep slugs as short as possible and easily recognizable by your clients. NOTE: The maximum is 50 characters.

16 Page Medicareful Living Medicareful Living focuses on not just managing your health, but improving your life. This is possible when you find the right Medicare option for you and your family. Content is published daily that you can share with your clients to help them feel healthier and more fulfilled throughout their golden years. The Medicareful Living website contains links offering you the option to post directly to your favorite social media outlet. It also contains an option to send the webpage to your clients. Medicareful Living is not only an amazing website with an abundance of information for you and your clients, it also contains a link to direct the user to your Medicareful website to view plans and enroll. When providing your clients with the URL to Medicareful Living, be sure to include your personal slug from your Medicareful website to ensure all clients that click the Find Your Plan option are directed to your Medicareful website. (ex. Medicareful Living also includes an option for you and your clients to subscribe to receive a weekly Medicareful Living Newsletter.

17 Page 15 FAQs Q: Can an agent have their Medicareful site associated in any way with their current website? A: Yes, but since the domain name is filed with CMS, it cannot be inside of your website. It would have to be a link or redirect. If you have an established relationship with an affinity partner, you can also link or redirect through that partner s website. Some examples might include: Credit unions, banks, P&C agencies, grocery stores, associations, unions, pharmacies, churches, retiree groups, senior centers, etc. If you decide to link your current site and Medicareful page, please provide us with the URL of your current site so we can spot check for compliance purposes. Q: How can I market my Medicareful site to consumers? A: Add it to your current website via a clickable hyperlink (We would also require your website URL so we can spot check it) Add your unique Medicareful link to business cards Add your unique Medicareful link to your signature blast to your current consumers (Subject to CMS Marketing guidelines) Networking with a brand that could become an affinity partner. We can help design marketing pieces the affinity partners can hand out to help advertise your Medicareful site. Q: Can clients enroll through my Medicareful website? A: Yes! Clients will have a direct enrollment button with SilverScript, Humana PDP, and Excellus/Univera, and other select carriers are in the works. The application is only one page and very user friendly. It saves time and you don t have to worry about paper apps, faxing, ing, or face-to-face appointments. Q: Do I have to send a paper Scope of Appointment to my client? A: No, we now have an electronic SOA on all Medicareful websites! Your client simply needs to fill out the Contact Us form and you will receive an notification that you have a client who is wanting to be contacted. The SOA will be found in your RitterIM account under CRM > Leads. Q: Anything else I should keep in mind? A: Even if you have a website, you really need to link to Medicareful s unique CMS-accepted quote engine. If you don t have a website, you can use Medicareful or create a website with our partner AgentMethods and link to it. CMS is cracking down on sites that are not CMS-accepted and insurance companies will be asking to review pages (this has already happened to us about 20 times). If nothing else, Medicareful assures your compliance with CMS regulations.

18 Page 16 Medicareful Agreement Medicareful online enrollments are designed as an agent-assisted enrollment tool. As such, I understand and agree to comply with the following: I will always execute the Medicareful esoa or equivalent prior to presenting a Medicare plan to the consumer. I will explain the plan benefits, limits, and all other enrollment requirements to ensure the right plan is selected for the enrollee prior to enrollment. In the unlikely event of a consumer enrollment without my knowledge, I will contact the enrollee immediately to obtain an esoa, confirm the enrollee s intention, and ensure the correct plan selection is made. While I may provide assistance over the phone or face-to-face, I may not complete the enrollment on behalf of the consumer or at the consumer s request.
