1 PowerSchool Parent Portal Instructions

2 What is the parent portal? Can view grades and attendance. Can view detailed assignment information if teachers utilize the teachers grade book. Can setup automatic s so parents and/or guardians are notified on a daily/weekly basis.

3 How do I get access? Parents/Guardians: Obtain a Access ID & Password letter from your child s school. Create an account. Students: Use your network username and password. This is normally your student id and date of birth in YYYYMMDD format.

5 Open your internet program and navigate to our website at

6 Click on the school portals link found under resources.

7 Click on the Parents button from the school portals page.

8 From the parents portal page click on the PowerSchool logo.

9 This is the parent/student portal login page for PowerSchool. You can book mark this page if you wish.

10 Students: You can login using your student number as your username and your birthdate in YYYYMMDD format as your password. Parents: If this your first time to the parent portal you will need to create an account. Once you have created you account you can login using the username and password you created during the create account process.

12 Click the create account button.

13 This is create account screen. You will need a copy of the Access ID and Password letter from your child s school to complete all the information on this page.

14 The first part of the create account page is information related to the parent/guardian. Enter your First and Last name. Enter your address. Choose a username. Please avoid usernames that contain the following special characters: * &. - < > Enter your password Re-enter your password

15 The second part of the create account page is information related to the student(s). Enter the students name. Using the information found on the Access ID and Password letter enter your child s unique Access ID and Access Password. Choose a relationship. Click the enter button.

16 If you have any errors you may be returned to the page and any errors will be presented at the top. Some common errors are: Invalid Access ID Invalid Access Password Did not fill all the required fields out. If you do not have any errors you will be presented with a message stating that your account was created.

17 Keep in mind you only need to go though the create account step once. Once you have created your account you can login using the username and password you created.

19 When you login you are automatically brought to the Grades and Attendance page.

20 This is the menu bar. You will notice that if you have more than one student linked to your account you will see their names. By clicking on this names you can change between the student s information.

21 Grades and Attendance This is the first page that shown after you login. This screen contains information about the student s classes for the current and prior terms for the current school year. Exp referred to the period and days the class meets. Attendance is displayed for the past two weeks for each class. Attendance codes can be found at the bottom of the page.

22 Grades and Attendance If you click on the grades, detailed grade data will be displayed if available.

23 Grades and Attendance If you click on the number of absences or tardies, the days will be shown.

24 Grades and Attendance This page is a quick snapshot of: Two weeks of attendance Year Grades Class Schedule Teachers

25 Grade History This screen contains all grades for the current term/year.

26 Attendance History This screen contains detailed attendance information for the current term/year. The quick lookup page also includes this information.

27 Notification This screen allows you setup notifications. Some types of notification you can receive are: Summary of current grades and attendance Detailed report showing all assignment scores for each class Detailed report of attendance School announcements You can set the frequency limit of how often you receive these s. This page is only available to parent/guardians.

28 School Bulletin This screen allows you to view the school s bulletin if they have entered it into PowerSchool.

29 My Calendars Allows you to link your assignment calendars to your client. You will need an or Calendar client that supports vcalendar.

30 Account Preferences This page allows you to modify your account information such as: Your Name Your Username Your Password Your address Students that are linked to your account. This page is only available to parent/guardians.

31 Once you are done. Click logout. If you need help on any page you can click the? button for more information on that page.

32 A Few Things to Remember! You need your child s Access ID and Password letter to create your account. You can get a copy of this letter from your child s school. Do not share your Username, Password, Access ID, or Password Students can have more than one parent/guardian account. Once you are done with your session, remember to log out.

33 What if forgot my password or username? You can reset your information. From the login page there is a link to reset your information.
