2 P a g e 1 Section 1: Welcome to OnDemand Discovery OnDemand Discovery is a new Client Side, add-on to OnDemand, which allows clients to upload their own Native data into new or existing projects, without having to mail data to CloudNine Discovery, or FTP to our servers. This process will upload native files to OnDemand, process those native files (including OCR) and produce a Database with those documents for review, streamlining the process to get your case into the review process. Although we have done everything in our power at CloudNine Discovery to ensure that the OnDemand Discovery Client s upload speed is as fast as possible, there are some factors to consider when loading data. How large is the file you are trying to send? What is your internet speed? Are you using a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System? Before you panic, you don t have to know the answers to these questions. OnDemand Discovery is fully capable of uploading data regardless of your system settings. As long as you have the data and a valid internet connection, we can get the data. However, these factors will affect how fast that data can be loaded to us. For example, if uploading a 10 gigabyte data set takes a few hours to upload, then a 150 gigabyte data set could take more than a day. Keep this truth in mind when choosing which data sets to upload and how many at a time. It s best to start with a small data set to gauge your own upload speed. As always, you can send large data sets to us for processing and upload if desired. OnDemand uploading and processing is designed as an automated process, for handling select types of data and file formats using standard processing specifications. As such, OnDemand is not recommended for ALL projects or ALL data sets or types, but specifically for projects and data sets and types that DO NOT require manual file handling or special processing requirements. 3 P a g e 2 Section 2: How to Prepare your Data for Upload. The first step to uploading your native data with OnDemand Discovery is to gather it all into one place. As we learned in Section 1, Uploading Data takes Time, and we need to take a couple things into consideration when uploading data. First consideration is how much data do you have to upload? If you have 10 gigabytes of total data to upload, you can probably load everything as one folder. On the other hand, if your total data to transfer is 40 gigabytes, you may want to break those up into multiple batches. If even still, you have 200 Gigabytes of data, you may want to send it to us as a hard drive, and let us load the data for you. Every case will be different, as more considerations must be taken than just upload size, but this is the first place to start. OnDemand Discovery has two uploading options: Uploading a Folder Uploading a Compressed File Taking this into account, choosing the best one for you, will depend on the data you wish to load. If you have a set of documents that are already compressed in a single archive file (such as a.zip,.rar, or.tar), you will probably want to load those into OnDemand Discovery as is. If you have a lot of raw data that has been collected, you can choose to upload it in folder form. This can be extremely useful, as OnDemand Discovery has a Tree View function, which follows the file path of documents through Folders and subfolders. This can be extremely helpful if you have the ability to group documents by Custodian or Reviewer. Folders can be created in your original data that separate certain groups of documents before upload to help filter documents later. **OnDemand supports a very wide variety of File Formats. Please see our current official list of Supported File Formats at the end of this document**

4 P a g e 3 OnDemand Discovery: Installing the Client **Be Advised. The Client currently is only supported on Windows Based Machines** Step 1. After creating your Dataset to upload, access the OnDemand Tool at: Step 2. You should see the main login page. If you are an existing client, please select the Log In button, as you would normally log into Universal OnDemand (Skip to Step 5) If you are a new client, or wish to create a new username for the purpose of using OnDemand Discovery, please click the Sign Up button. (Continue to Step 3) Step 3. New Users: Fill out the required information on the Free Account Signup page, and then check your . You should receive an with a temporary password. **If you do not receive an with a temporary password, please check your Spam filter. If you still have not received a password, contact Technical Support.** Step 4. Upon logging in the first time, you will be prompted to change your password. Please fill out the form, change your password, and set a security question. This question will be used to verify your identity when contacting Technical Support. You will also have to Accept our Master Services Agreement to continue.

5 P a g e 4 Step 5. Upon Successful Login, click the Upload data button located at the Top left of the Screen, right under the OnDemand logo. This will bring up the Client Installer Page. Step 6. Click Install on the Client Installer page, which will download a file called, Setup.exe. Depending on your browser, the download may show in different places. (This is in Firefox.) Run the Installer when it is finished Downloading. Step 7. (Optional) If your machine prompts you for a security warning, select Run. Step 8. After a moment, the Uploader should open automatically, and you are ready to Upload some Data! **You must have Administrator rights to your computer to install the program. If you have any problems installing the Client, contact your firm s IT Department.**

6 P a g e 5 OnDemand Discovery: Uploading Data By now, your data set has been created and you have installed the OnDemand Discovery Client. This section will walk you through the steps you need to take to actually upload data. Step 1. Step 2. Log into the Client Select the Data Set you created. Choosing to upload a Compressed File allows you to upload Zip or Rar files. Choosing to upload a folder, will let you select a folder of files to upload. **This option will require the Client to Compress the Data for you, which may add some time to your upload** Step 3. Select one of the Project Options. Create a New Project: Names a new Database in Universal OnDemand for this dataset. Load into existing project: Chooses a project with data already loaded in order to load more data. 7 P a g e 6 Step 4. Select your local time zone. Step 5. Name your Upload This step is important! You will use this field to look up all documents uploaded in this batch. Step 6. Review your Upload Information. All the choices you have made will be displayed on this screen. Step 7. Click the Start Upload Button.

8 P a g e 7 OnDemand Discovery: What to Expect Next You will receive three s over the course of the process. The first (OnDemand Discovery Upload Received) will arrive after the data has been uploaded, confirming receipt of the data set. The second (OnDemand Discovery Data Ready) will arrive after the initial processing has been done, and your data set is available to start reviewing. **Note. At this point, some indexing and analytics have not been performed.** The final (OnDemand Discovery Analytics Complete) arrives after data has been completely indexed and analytics have finished. You will receive these s after each upload, so if you are uploading multiple data sets into the same project, you should wait until the second of the last upload to begin reviewing documents.
