1 Version Release Notes To install: Version 3.1 software requires a valid V3.0 Enabling Key. Reference the providing access to this software release for specific information on how to install this version of software. IMPORTANT NOTE: A password is required to access the software update page. Previously registered DASDEC and One-Net users should have received a password via . Release change notes from Version IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR USERS IN THE U.S. and U.S. TERRITORIES Updated the XML Digital Signature Certificate Authority (CA) pull-down menu to include a new CA file. The "FCPCA-USTreasury-DHS-IGC-CA.crt" selection supersedes all previous CA files. Many CAP alert originators use a Digital Signature Certificate Authority (CA) within their messages to establish trust between the originator and the destination EAS device. Recent changes to the CA by these alert originators is why many users have reported logs with the message, Event Log:Digital Signature VERIFICATION ERROR : Signer UNTRUSTED! Check for correct CAP decoder CA file.; This release contains a new CA file, however it requires users to make a simple change. IMPORTANT: Users MUST update their CAP Decoder settings with the new XML Digital Signature Certificate (CA) Name. To change the CA within the EAS device: 1. Navigate to the Setup > Net Alerts > CAP Decode screen 2. Select the configured CAP configuration from the Select CAP input client pull-down menu. 3. Enable the View Advanced Options check box. The advanced options will appear. 4. Locate the XML Digital Signature Certificate Authority (CA) Name pull-down menu and choose the "FCPCA-USTreasury-DHS-IGC-CA.crt" selection. 5. Click the Accept Changes button at the bottom of the screen. 2 General Additions Added a Normalize decoded EAS audio message check box to both the Setup > Audio > Decoder Audio and Setup > Audio > Audio Output Levels/Texts screens to automatically manage audio output levels. Added text entry (HTML) and filename restrictions policy to prevent Persistent Cross-site Scripting (XSS): Illegal filename characters are now: < > / \ \ & ` $ * \ " ' ( ) ^ { } [ ]?, : ; " Illegal HTML characters are now: & < > \ " ' ` Added a "NOT USED" note next to wildcarded FIPS codes, shown as Any location (***) when editing a FIPS Group, in Required Weekly Test setup screens such as Setup > Station > Main and Send Alerts > One-Button Alert. Wildcarded FIPS codes are not valid when generating an RWT. Removed all wildcarded FIPS codes, shown as Any location (***), in any EAS header encoding and translation. Added a confirmation dialog popup when changing a Required Weekly Test FIPS Group and Audio file selectors to assure any change(s) were desired and avoiding unintentional changes. Added audit tracking to the Web Session Log when modifying an Alert Node, FIPS/EAS Group, Auto-Forward Mode, Duplicate Handling, and Required Weekly Test FIPS Group. System > Logs > Web Session Log. Enhanced DNS management tools under the Setup > Network > Configuration screen and DNS status report on the System > Status > Network screen to validate proper DNS connectivity. Added user configurable DNS Timeout options. Default Timeout is set to 3 seconds and Tries is set to 2. Added RSYSLOG capabilities within the Setup > Network > Configuration screen (just below Static Route Configuration). This interface allows users to enable/disable the feature, choose either TCP or UDP protocols, input a remote host location, and input the desired port for communications. Added Administration-level permission to the Preempt an in-progress alert announcement as a test and When DMO event is forwarded, forward live and bypass criteria (like EAN,NPT), to simulate national live alert operation check boxes within the Setup > Demo/Practice screen. Only Administration-level users have access to these check boxes. All other users will see grayed text and will not be able to enable these features due to the importance and downstream effect of generating such an alert message. Added EOM audio playout after simulated demo national alert pre-empts a running alert assuring test conditions are properly terminated. Added the ability to Run Weekly Test once simultaneous on all stations from Setup > One- Button Alert screen. Added the option to honor Auto-Forward mode for Force Forward at offset time from the Forwarding Action pull-down menu within the Setup > Alert Agent > Manage Alert Nodes screen. Added the ability for Administration level users to select web interface Scroll Height from the Setup > Users screen. Options include: Short 400px, Med 500px, Std 600px, and Tall 700px. General Improvements Overall improvement in the stability and security of the One-Net and DASDEC software. Increased stability and reliability related to the playout of EAS Alert messages and multiple message processing. Improved accuracy of logged alert messages providing easier analysis of decoded alerts. Modified the standard English text of EAS messages to replace counties/areas with counties or areas to improve Text-to-Speech rendering. Modified the Spanish and French alert text to improve legibility and Text-to-Speech rendering. 3 General Improvements (continued) Added constant streaming MPEG option to the Setup > Net Alerts > Streaming MPEG screen for maintaining a constant MPEG-over-IP stream regardless of the alert state. Highlighting the United States (000000) code in red and the State FIPS codes in orange in the alert origination screens such as Setup > Station > Main / Origination Settings, Setup > Demo/Practice, and Send Alerts screens. Alert notifications time stamps now directly match with the decoded, originated, and forwarded times in the event logs. Improved the operation of the Expansion GPIO board GPO relays. Improved the reliability of the onboard GPIO interface. Added GPI Hold interface for DataProbe ipio-8 Networked GPIO device. Automatically insert a single space character after the custom ORG translation text string to provide proper spacing in message text string. All live EAS (EAN/NPT) alert messages will terminate with EOM audio regardless if EOM was received from the upstream source, thus helping to assure downstream devices properly terminate. Removed the capability to edit EAS Code Groups within disabled NetGPIO client interfaces. Removed the United States FIPS code (000000) in any EAS header encoding and translation to prevent accidental generation by an unauthorized device. Addressed misdirected web links found within the Alert Events > Incoming Alerts and Incoming/Decoded Alerts screens. Resolved a display issue for longer addresses within the Setup > screen. Improved the responsiveness of the NetGPIO user interface especially when interfaces are offline. A National Periotic Test (NPT) will no longer pre-empt currently playing alerts, but will immediately follow that alert under the proviso a test and should not interrupt a playing alert. Assured a playing NPT is pre-emptible alert by EAN only. Changed check box labeling in Setup > Demo/Practice interface regarding monthly test override audio to Allow Forward active RMT with original decoded audio GPI to forward this Demo alert. Corrected an issue in RWT audio file selection to assure the proper audio file plays. Added Weekly Test Setting as a hyperlink under Setup > Station > Main for direct link to the Send Alerts > One Button Alert page. When Weekly Test Audio is disabled within the Setup > Global Options screen and RWT is selected in the Send Alerts > General Alerts screen, the Set Primary Audio section includes a Weekly Test EAS Broadcast Audio is Not Enabled hyperlink linking back to the Setup > Global Options screen. Modified the pull-down option for Forwarding Action from Force Now to Force Immediately and Play Scheduling from - "Now" to "Immediately" within the Setup > Alert Agent > Manage Alert Nodes screen. Changed Operation Log phrasing from "Force Auto-Forward" to "Force-Forward". Corrected an issue with the Delete Selected button on the Send Alerts > General Alerts and Send Alerts > Custom Message audio management screens so when an audio file is deleted from these screens, any selector referencing the deleted file is set to No Audio. Tracking a forced HTML page change which, under specific controlled conditions, may restart the UI, temporarily preventing log in access. The issue does not impact any other functionality, nor does it impact the confidentiality, integrity or functionality of the equipment. 4 Custom Message Pro Alert Agent All previous Custom Message Plus (CMPlus) users are automatically upgraded to Custom Message Pro (CMPro). Requires CMPlus - now CMPro - license key Substantial improvements and changes to the Custom Message interface including the ability to quickly store and retrieve messages as templates, assign specific messages Text and Audio to select GPI s so each GPI can run any of the preset messages. All changes are reflected in updated V3.1 manual Overall reliability and stability improvements to Custom Message operation. Custom Messages may now be assigned to GPI Inputs triggered custom messages. Added a Stop GPI triggered messages upon contact open check box to stop Custom Message screen allowing simple on/off control of messages. Improved reliability of text translations in Custom Message from EAS-Net received messages. Selecting None from the Custom Message Template pull-down resets configuration settings to their default state. When editing EAS Code Groups, EAN/NPT/NIC EAS codes are automatically added to new or empty Code Groups. Alert nodes (except for NATIONAL) can selectively block the United States (000000) FIPS code. The NATIONAL alert node displays the override United States (000000) FIPS code outside of the bracketed FIPS group list when a FIPS group filter has been selected so users more easily and readily understand if a node will process the United States FIPS code. Upgrade Conversions MultiStation Net Alerts Overall reliability and stability improvements to v1.x and v2.x upgrade conversions. Addressed a configuration conversion situation where wildcarded FIPS codes assigned to a CAP decoder would stop decoding messages. Corrected issue where imported configuration files could replace language translation configurations. Addressed pre/post alert audio when originating an alert. Full support of substitute audio files within an Alert Node. Same audio file plays across all stations when Force immediately simultaneously to all is selected from the Forwarding Action pull-down menu in the Alert Node. Audio file names may now include spaces and parenthesis. Corrected originating and forwarding across multiple stations with Text-to-Speech and OmniLingual alerts. Overall reliability and stability improvements of Net Alerts. Added a status display indicating the CAP decoder s continuous connection time. CAP clients now automatically add the United States FIPS code (000000) to any CAP decoder interface filtering FIPS codes to prevent potential blocking of IPAWS CAP alerts for United States FIPS code. This means the code does not have to be included in a CAP decoder FIPS Group filter. Proper handling of PEM certificate passwords containing characters like ), (, and $, however embedded quote characters remain illegal. Adding a new EAS-Net Client Interface will automatically enable the Send Live alert (EAN, NPT) check box. EAS-Net CAP interface now includes the addition of a Generate and include EASAudioDuration parameter in CAP alert check box. Added proper audio duration to EAS-Net events for Pre-Alert send option. Was always defaulted to 30 secs. Secure Web Server HTTPS Send has been added as an option to the CAP Event Data control options / EAS_NET/CAP Event Transfer Protocol pull-down menu. Set default priority for SCTE-18 NPT (National Periodic Test) to default priority level to 15. Added continuity counter management options for SCTE-18 MPEG-2 Transport Streams. Options include: Reset Continuity Counter with every message, Reset Continuity Counter with every event, and Do not reset Continuity Counter. Addressed VIDEO attribute values in EAS NET ABORT event message. Added timeout control for NetGPIO client interfaces. Added logging of when NetGPIO client interfaces go between offline and online states. Only display NetGPIO client interface offline messages once every 10 minutes at most. Display of NetGPIO client interface screen is significantly improved, especially when devices are offline. Stopped EAS Group edit capability in disabled NetGPIO client interfaces. When Hub Controller/NetGPIO screen toggle is disabled, the setup page no longer runs a full processing of the configured NetGPIO interfaces. This results in a quick rendering of the screen. Added support for MPEG-DASH. (Requires MPEG-DASH license key) - Available for One-Net SE (R189SE) and DASDEC-II models only. Added Generate MPEG-DASH alert check box to the Setup > Video/CG > Video Out screen that enables a series of MPEG-DASH configuration settings. These settings include H.264 compression settings for both video and audio, segment duration, frames per second, and manifest file name. Improved stability of text translations in Custom Message and CAP Canada forwarding from EAS NET received messages. Improved reliability of text translations of CAP Canada forwarding from EAS-Net received messages. Enforce Must Carry (Broadcast Intrusive) state for MultiStation stations when in manual mode.
