1 Version 2.0 Software Upgrade and CAP Key Installation Copying the.rpm file from the Digital Alert Systems website 1. Type in the address bar of your Web browser. 2. Click on the Product Registration and Updates link on the left hand side of the page and the following screen will be displayed. Click on the corresponding link to download the software version. Depending on which model you own, either the DASDEC or DASDEC-II this will be the corresponding link you will click on. 2 3. A file download box will be displayed. Click on the Save button and you will be asked where you want to save the file. Dasdec_fc i386.rpm 4. Browse to the location on your hard drive, floppy, or CD where you would like to save the.rpm file. Click on the Save button to save the file. Dasdec_fc i386.rpm 6. 3 Upgrading the DASDEC Software 1. Log into your DASDEC from your PC. 2. Click on the Setup>Server > Upgrade tab. At the bottom of the page you will see a box that says Upgrade DASDEC Server Software from DASDEC RPM release file. Click on the Browse button to get to the location where you saved the.rpm file. 4 4. Once the correct location has been found Click on the Open button to select the file. Dasdec_fc i386.rpm Dasdec_fc i386.rpm 5. The file path will be displayed in the box to the left of the Browse button. Click on the Upgrade Server Button, and a confirmation page will allow you to continue or cancel the upgrade. 5 6. To verify the update was correct, check below the logo for software version. Log back into your DASDEC. **NOTES** - If you have the 2 nd generation, (DASDEC-II) then you can skip to the Software Key installation section of this documentation found on page If you have an original DASDEC you will need to install the Auxiliary package, this will be done in the following steps. 6 7. To obtain this needed Aux. package for the 1 st generation DASDEC, the link is located on the same page of the Digital Alert Systems website as the software version update. (This link is named CAP/XML Support Library) 8. Clicking on this link will open the following window, you will need to select save and proceed to save it in a location you will be able to find again. 7 9. Click on the Setup>Server > Upgrade tab. At the bottom of the page you will see a box that says Upgrade DASDEC Server Software from DASDEC RPM release file. Click on the Browse button to get to the location where you saved the.rpm file. After file is located, click upgrade server, and a confirmation page will allow you to continue or cancel the upgrade. 10. 8 11. If you have purchased CAP Premium then you also need to install the speech_synth i386.rpm, the speech_synth_voice_allison i386.rpm and the speech_synth_voice_david i386.rpm. These will also be located on the Digital Alert Systems website in the same location as the software. If you did not purchase this package then you can skip to the Software Key installation section of this documentation located on page These packages will be downloaded the same way as the previous upgrades. When you click on the link a box will open asking you to save this package and you can save it in a location you will be able to find. 9 13. Then from the Setup>Server > Upgrade tab click on the Browse button and locate the speech_synth i386.rpm file you have saved. (These packages will have to be installed in this order). After locating this file click on the upgrade server button, and a confirmation page will allow you to continue or cancel the upgrade. 14. Log back into the unit and then return to the Setup>Server > Upgrade tab, click on the browse button and locate the speech_synth_voice_allison i386.rpm file, and again select the Upgrade server button, and a confirmation page will allow you to continue or cancel the upgrade. 15. Log back into the unit and then return to the Setup>Server > Upgrade tab, click on the browse button and locate the speech_synth_voice_david i386.rpm file, and again select the Upgrade server button, and a confirmation page will allow you to continue or cancel the upgrade. 10 Software Key Installation Procedure for DASDEC 1. Log back into your DASDEC 2. Under Setup >Server> Main/License tab. 3. Copy and paste the key obtained from Digital Alert Systems, into the box to the left of the CAP Plus option. (do not try to type this key, as upper and lower case can be mistaken and punctuation missed) 4. Once this is entered you can click on the Restart Server button at the bottom of the page. Clicking on this will return you to the login screen and validate this entry. After a brief wait period log back into your unit. You will see this field is now green. 11 5. If you have purchased CAP premium, then you will also need to copy and paste the Allison voice and David voice information obtained from Digital Alert Systems. (Do not try to type these keys, as upper and lower case can be mistaken and punctuation missed). If you do not see these options then you will need to return to step 11 on page 8 and install the required packages. 6. Click on the Restart Server button to enable the option. 7. After the Server restarts, Log back into the unit and the option you just entered the key for should have changed from red to green indicating it has been enabled as the example above has shown.
