11 0 0 INTRODUCTION. Scope This is the ME Conformance Testing with CSIM specification. The aim of the present document is to ensure interoperability between an ME and a CSIM independently of the respective manufacturer, card issuer or operator as defined in [], [] and []. The present document does not define any aspects related to the administrative management phase of the UICC. Any internal technical realization of either the UICC or the ME is only specified where these are reflected over the interface. This document does not specify which test cases are mandatory or optional. However, to successfully execute a particular test case, its corresponding test requirements and procedures as defined in this document shall be followed.. Document Conventions.. Requirements Shall and shall not identify requirements to be followed strictly to conform to this document and from which no deviation is permitted. Should and should not indicate that one of several possibilities is recommended as particularly suitable, without mentioning or excluding others, that a certain course of action is preferred but not necessarily required, or that (in the negative form) a certain possibility or course of action is discouraged but not prohibited. May and need not indicate a course of action permissible within the limits of the document. Can and cannot are used for statements of possibility and capability, whether material, physical or causal... Numbers The following table describes the conventions used for non-decimal numbers. Convention Description b A single digit binary number bbbbbbbb An -bit binary number hh A single octet hexadecimal number hh hh hh hh hh A multi-octet hexadecimal number Note: If an X is present in a binary or hexadecimal number, then that digit is don t care. 0 Bn represents Byte n of the coding starting from left to right, i.e. MSB to LSB. bn represents Bit n of the byte starting from right to left, i.e. LSB to MSB.. Terminology.. Definitions For the purposes of the present document, the following terms and definitions apply in addition to the terms defined in []: Mobile Equipment: The part of a mobile station that does not include the UIM. Mobile Station: A station, fixed or mobile, which serves as the end user s wireless communication link with the base station. Mobile stations include portable units (e.g., hand-

12 0 0 0 held personal units) and units installed in vehicles. A mobile station consists of two parts ME and UIM... Acronyms For the purposes of the present document, the following acronyms apply: GPP rd Generation Partnership Project ADF Application Directory File CSIM cdma000 Subscriber Identity Module CS Card Simulator DF Directory File EF Elementary File ME Mobile Equipment MEID Mobile Equipment Identifier MS Mobile Station NS Network Simulator OTAPA Over-the-Air Parameter Administration OTASP Over-the-Air Service Provisioning PIN Personal Identity Number PIN Personal Identity Number PRL Preferred Roaming List SIM Subscriber Identity Module UICC Universal Integrated Circuit Card UIM User Identity Module. References The following standards are referenced in this text. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based upon this document are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards indicated below. 17 ME TEST ENVIRONMENT The following diagram illustrates the test environment involving the ME (the Unit Under Test), a Card Simulator (CS), and a Network Simulator (NS). 0 0 Figure ME Test Environment The NS simulates a cdma000 network and can receive or originate cell phone calls. The CS simulates a UICC containing a CSIM. Alternatively, to perform the logical tests, CSIMs programmed with specific data may be used. The CSIM data is not defined within the initial conditions of the tests unless it differs from the default values defined below. The following sequence of tests confirms: The correct interpretation of data read from the CSIM (cdma000 Subscriber Identification Module) by the ME; The correct writing of data to the CSIM by the ME; The initiation of appropriate procedures by the ME; and The high level protocols. All tests apply to the CSIM application on the UICC.. Definition of Default Values for ME CSIM Interface Testing (Default UICC) A CSIM containing the following default values is used for all tests of this present document unless otherwise stated. For each data item, the logical default values and the coding within the elementary files (EFs) of the CSIM follow. Unless otherwise specified, the coding values are hexadecimal... Values of the EFs under MF The following EFs exist under the UICC Master File (MF) level.... EF DIR (Directory) This EF must contain an AID for the CSIM, i.e. 'A XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX'.

27 0 0 0 ME TEST PROCEDURES The test cases in this chapter are unique to an ME conforming with a CSIM. Chapter 0 contains the test cases that are in common with an ME conforming with an R-UIM []. In general, for each test procedure, the following five () subsections are included: ) Definition ) Traceability ) Initial Conditions ) Procedure ) Minimum Standard Unless otherwise specified, each test case is applicable to all MEs.. ME Interworking, Initialization and Session Termination.. Definition An ME selects the CSIM application and properly initializes itself and the CSIM. The ME also properly terminates the CSIM session and closes the CSIM application... Traceability For Interworking, see sections and... of []. For Initialization, see section... of []. For Session Termination, see section.. of []... Initial Conditions None beyond the common initial conditions... Procedure. Power on the ME.. Wait for the ME initialization to complete.. Verify that the ME performed the following: Did not select DF CDMA (the R-UIM); Selected ADF-CSIM; Read EF ECC; Read EF PL; Verified the user; Read EF AD; Read EF CSIM_ST; Read EF EST; Read EF OTA if ME supports OTASP/OTAPA; Read EF RUIMID;

28 0 0 0 Sent the Store_ESN_MEID_ME command (EF ESN_MEID_ME has the ME s ESN_ME or MEID); Wrote to EF MECRP; Read EF GCIK if ME supports AKA.. If supported by the ME, verify that the ME performed the following: Read EF SP; Read EF IMSI_M and EF IMSI_T; Read EF ACCOLC; Read EF PRL if ME supports only SSPR_P_REV = ; Read EF EPRL if ME supports SSPR_P_REV ; Wrote to EF Model if EF Model is present; Read EF MLPL if ME supports MMSS_P_REV ; Read EF MSPL if ME supports MMSS_P_REV.. Verify that the ME sent a STATUS command with P = 0.. Power off the ME.. When the ME sends a STATUS command with P = 0 (Session Termination Indications), verify that the ME performed the following: Wrote to EF GCIK if ME supports AKA... Minimum Standard The ME shall comply with the requirements in steps,, and of the procedure.. MSID, MCC, and IMSI Use the test procedure specified in section.. of [] with the following exceptions: Substitute R-UIM with CSIM Substitute Removable UIM_ID_Usage Indicator with UIM ID usage indicator..
