In this document, we will introduce you to the Campaign Collaboration feature in the Layar Creator. You will learn more about the following topics: Campaign Collaboration Overview Actions and roles in Campaign Collaboration flow Step by Step Instructions Sharing a campaign Uploading pages to a shared campaign Editing pages in a shared campaign Publishing and unsharing a campaign Managing shared campaigns Overview The Campaign Collaboration feature enables the sharing of one campaign among multiple Layar Creator users. There are two types of user roles involved, Campaign Owner and Campaign Collaborator (or Contributor). Campaign Owner creates and owns the campaign. He/she can invite multiple Campaign Collaborators to add their pieces of work to the same campaign. Campaign Collaborator (or Contributor) can upload pages to the same campaign and augment those pages as usual. NOTE In the Layar system, both Campaign Owner and Campaign Collaborator should be associated with a verified Layar account. A Layar account with Campaign Collaboration feature enabled can be entered as Campaign Owner. Campaign Owner s account has to be a Premium Account. Campaign Collaborator s account can be a normal Layar Account. The general workflow of the Campaign Collaboration feature is illustrated below: 2
Campaign Collaboration 3. Campaign owner reviews and publishes shared campaign to public. PUBLIC 1. Campaign owner shares a campaign to contributors. SHARED CAMPAIGN Campaign owner. CONTENTS P0 P1 P2 P3 P4 P5 P6 Contributor Y Contributor X 2. Contributers add pages to the shared campaign. P1 P2 P3 P4 P5 P6 Page Title: The Team. According to the illustration above, a typical Campaign Collaboration flow goes like this: 1. A Campaign Owner creates a campaign in the Creator, for instance, Layared magazine Issue 2. Once the campaign is created, the Campaign Owner will share this campaign by adding other users as Campaign Collaborators. In the graph above, the Campaign Owner has added Collaborator X and Y to this shared campaign. Campaign Collaborators will get an notification regarding this sharing event. 2. The Campaign Owner has full control of the shared campaign, like adding pages to the campaign (in this case, a page P0 is added by the Campaign Owner). Once a Campaign Collaborator logs into the Layar Creator (using his/her layar account), he/she will see the shared campaign under a tab called Shared with me on Campaign Overview page. A Collaborator can start uploading pages to the same campaign and augmenting those pages. He/she will not see pages that are uploaded by other Collaborators or by the campaign owner. 3. All the content added by Collaborators (in this case, Collaborator X and Y ) will appear in the shared campaign managed by the Campaign Owner. 3
Below is a diagram explaining the work flow of a shared campaign, it contains details on both what a Campaign Owner and a Campaign Collaborator are able to do with a shared campaign in the Layar Creator. The table on the following page also explains the work flow in more detail. 4
NOTES A campaign can only have one Campaign Owner. A Campaign Collaborator will only see and work on the pages he/she has uploaded. Once a campaign is shared with a Collaborator, the campaign can only be published as a Pro-Campaign. Actions & Roles Depending on the roles, Campaign Owner and Campaign Collaborator of a shared campaign will have different rights in terms of managing the campaign. A Campaign Owner has full control of the shared campaign, namely creating, editing, testing, publishing, archiving and deleting a campaign. has the right to share and unshare a campaign to one or multiple Campaign Collaborators. has access to the statistics of a shared campaign. A Campaign Collaborator is able to see campaigns shared with them under the shared with me tab on Campaign Overview page in the Layar Creator. is able to upload pages to a campaign shared with them. is able to view, edit and test pages uploaded by themselves in a shared campaign. A detailed action list based on each type of role can be found below: ACTIONS CAMPAIGN OWNER CAMPAIGN COLLABORATOR Create a campaign that can be shared with others. Add campaign Collaborators to a shared campaign. View and edit campaign title, ID, Icon and Country. Add pages to the shared campaign. 5
ACTIONS CAMPAIGN OWNER CAMPAIGN COLLABORATOR Have access to pages uploaded to the shared campaign. Only Collaborators own pages Edit/ delete pages uploaded to the shared campaign. Only Collaborators own uploaded pages. Reorder pages in the shared campaign. Test pages uploaded to the shared campaign. Only Collaborators own uploaded pages. Publish the shared campaign as a Pro- Campaign. Unshare a campaign with a Collaborator once the campaign is published. Have access to an unshared campaign that was previously shared with a Collaborator by the campaign owner. The unshared campaign will disappear from Collaborator s Campaign Overview list. Edit/ delete pages uploaded to the published shared campaign. Only Collaborators own uploaded pages if the campaign is still shared with the Collaborator. 6
ACTIONS CAMPAIGN OWNER CAMPAIGN COLLABORATOR Upload pages to a published shared campaign. Only if the campaign is still shared with the Collaborator. Publish new pages uploaded to a published shared campaign. Other campaign management such as archiving/republishing/deleting a shared campaign. Have access to the campaign stats. Step by Step Instructions We have highlighted the steps on how to perform the key flows below: Sharing a campaign For Campaign Owner, 1. Under a campaign editing interface in the Layar Creator, a Campaign Owner will find a new tab called Collaborate next to the Edit tab (see image Campaign Collaborate tab). 7
Campaign Collaboration image Campaign Collaborate tab NOTE The Campaign Collaboration feature needs to be enabled for a premium Layar account by Layar staff. If you could not see this tab and you are sure that you should have access to it, please contact us at help@layar.com. 2. Click on the Collaborate tab, the Campaign Owner will be able to add Collaborators in the new dialog by providing the address associated with a Collaborator s verified layar account. Click on the plus sign to add the Collaborator (see image - add Collaborator). 8
image - add Collaborator NOTE Only the address of a verified layar account can be added. If a Campaign Collaborator was added previously, the layar account can be found under the Select from previous Collaborators list. Campaign Owner can add more Collaborators or unshare a campaign with its Collaborators by clicking on the same Collaborate Tab at any time. 3. Once all Collaborators are added, you can add a personal message to them. Clicking on the Add x Collaborators takes you to the final screen where you can select/deselect Collaborators (see image - Sharing a Campaign). An notification with the provided personal message will be sent to all added Collaborators. image Sharing a Campaign 9
For Campaign Collaborator. 1. As a Campaign Collaborator, in the "Campaign Overview" interface, all shared campaigns will be listed under the Shared with me tab. Select the Shared with me tab, all campaigns shared with this Collaborator will appear (see image shared campaigns). image Shared Campaigns For each shared campaign, the Campaign Collaborator will see when this campaign was shared by whom and the status of this campaign (either published/draft/archived). Uploading pages to a shared campaign As mentioned above, both Campaign Owner and Campaign Collaborator can upload pages to a shared campaign. The difference is that the Campaign Owner will see all pages uploaded by all Collaborators in the same campaign where as a Collaborator can only see pages uploaded by him/herself. For Campaign Owner, The process of uploading pages is the same as uploading pages to a normal campaign. 1. Go to the Campaign Editing interface. 2. Click on the +PAGES button on the left side to pull up the Page uploading dialog. For a Campaign Collaborator, 10
Campaign Collaboration The steps to upload pages to a shared campaign are as follows: 1. Under the Shared with me tab, click on the shared campaign to launch the Campaign Editing interface. 2. Click on the +PAGES button on the left side to pull up the Page uploading dialog. In the following example, Campaign Owner A(xuan Layar) has uploaded an image to the shared campaign and Campaign Collaborator B(collaborator) uploaded another image to the same campaign. The image below shows that Campaign Owner A is able to see both images in this shared campaign. Also, the Campaign Owner is able to see the username of the Collaborator who uploaded the page. Clicking on the Collaborators username will open up an message with the address of that user (see image - Uploaded images seen by the campaign owner). image - Uploaded pages seen by the campaign owner However, Campaign Collaborator B (collaborator) can only see his/her uploaded page (see image below). Under the Campaign Overview interface, the Campaign Collaborator is able to see who the Campaign Owner is. 11
image Uploaded pages seen by the campaign collaborator NOTE That Campaign Collaborators are not able to import a page from a campaign which is shared to him/her already nor reorder pages uploaded to a shared campaign. Editing pages in a shared campaign Similar to uploading pages to a shared campaign, a Campaign Owner can edit all pages in a shared campaign. A Campaign Collaborator can only edit his/her own uploaded pages. Editing a page is the same as editing a page in a normal campaign. In the following example, Campaign Collaborator B (collaborator) has added a button to their page uploaded to the shared campaign. When Campaign Owner A (Xuan Layar) refreshes the same page, the button will appear on that page as well. 12
Campaign Collaboration image a website button with label Go to Layar is added by the Collaborator image the website button appears on the same page belongs to the owner 13
NOTE That there might be moments when both Campaign Owner and Campaign Collaborator are simultaneously working on the same page in a shared campaign. Currently, Layar Creator will not give any feedback or alert when this happens. In principle, the Creator will accept the latest saved version regardless of who did it. In order to prevent conflicts, we strongly recommend that only one person should work on a page at any one time. One possible solution is that the Campaign Owner waits until the Campaign Collaborator finishes his/her work and reviews it afterwards. Publishing and unsharing a campaign Only the Campaign Owner can publish a shared campaign. A shared campaign can only be published as a Pro campaign. For Campaign Owner, The publishing process looks like this: 1. To publish a shared campaign, a Campaign Owner can click on the Publish button. 2. Once the payment goes through successfully, the Campaign Owner can eidit the collaboration settings to either unshare the campaign with its Collaborators or keep it shared. Uncheck the tick box next to a collaborator to unshare the campaign. This means this Campaign Collaborator will not be able to see this campaign anymore under their shared with me tab in the Layar Creator (see image below). image - unshare my campaign 14
Once a campaign is unshared, an notification will be sent to Collaborators who are unshared from the sharing list of the campaign. These Campaign Collaborators will not be able to see this campaign anymore, therefore, they can not make any changes to their uploaded pages either. It is also possible for a Campaign Owner to re-share a campaign with previous Collaborators. This can be done by simply go to the same Collaborate tab. Campaign Collaborators will then be able to upload pages to the same campaign and edit content as usual. Managing shared campaigns For a Campaign Owner, there is not much difference in managing a shared campaign and a normal campaign. The challenge for managing a shared campaign is to make sure that the Campaign Owner is not working on the same page as a Campaign Collaborator to avoid conflicts and unexpected behaviors in the Creator. For Campaign Collaborator, all shared campaigns will appear under the shared with me tab. 15
