The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International State Organization Chapter Name The official name of the organization, the state name (greek and geographic) and the Chapter name,. Official branded logo on the top of the home page. Title on every page. Larger size font than body text. Black or dark gray text Pale or white body background Latest revision date Last Update: March 2014 Webmaster name address

61 How to Link up to International In order to be eligible for a Website link to International, a state organization or chapter website must adhere to the standards adopted by the Society. Once the Website is in compliance, application can be made to become an official link to the International Website. Chapters should send a Society Website Certification Request Form 72 to: Claire Swanson, Chair of the Communications Committee dkgswanson@gmail.com

64 Once your website has been reviewed and approved, you will need to pay the one-time Chapter/State Website Fees.

65 Complete Chapter/State Website Fees

67 Remember All Websites will contain: The Society Purposes, Mission Statement and Vision Statement. A pale or white background. The Greek and geographical name must be in the header. An official DKG logo must be in the header on the home page. Approved fonts that are easy to read. A list of State or Chapter Officers. A list of State or Chapter meetings.

68 Remember All Websites will contain: Photos reflecting activities, projects and programs. State Organization Bylaws or Chapter rules. Current newsletters if applicable. Each page will be dated (Month, Year) as to its latest revision. Society Websites will not include direct advertising or fundraising promotions. Strict Adherence to Copyright Laws. Check the DKG International site for additional information.

69 Policy on the Use of Electronic Communications Objectives Provide information about the Society and its events to all members. Encourage an exchange of ideas and information. Goal All forms of electronic communications will be consistent with the Society s Purpose and Mission Statement. Promote service efforts. Enhance visibility of the Society as a presence in the international and educational community.

70 Privacy & Copyright Issues Specific written consent for any Society member or Society group should be obtained and kept on file before the following items are posted: Street Addresses Telephone or Fax Pictures News Written consent is needed and should be kept on file for all copyrighted materials including artwork, music or text Approval is needed from International Headquarters to post any official Society correspondence

71 Privacy & Copyright Issues Personalize this template for your chapter and use it to secure permission from your chapter members to post personal addresses and phone numbers on the chapter website. Keep one on file for each member of your chapter!

72 Privacy & Copyright Issues A copyright is the exclusive legal right given to the originator of a body of work or their assignee to print, publish, perform, film, or record a literary, artistic, or musical work. A work that was granted a copyright by law on or after January 1, 1978 is protected for the lifetime of the author or creator for a period of 50 years after his or her death. Copyright infringement is the use of a body of work that is protected by the copyright law without the exclusive, documented permission of the copyright holder. This includes reproduction, distribution, display or performance and includes all mediums. (Print, internet, audio files, etc). There are legal penalties for copyright infringement which can include monetary damages between $200 to $150,000 and jail time. If you are not sure if a graphic, written document, musical score, poem, etc is copyrighted, DO NOT USE IT!
