WEB CONFIGURATION If the GPRS connection is active, in Network is displayed his network information GPRS status GPRS item consist of actual information about SIM card and about settings PIN code on SIM card. If the SIM card is not properly inserted or is it locked by PIN code, user is informed about it. Also is possible to find here information about connection to mobile network. They are: code of operator (PLMN), cell, channel, signal quality of chosen cell, as well as about neighbouring hearing cells. If the signal strength is in red, this means that signal is insufficient and connection could be inaccessible. If is in red the signal strength of some neighbor cell, it means that could interfered with selected cell. In this case, solution could be to adjust GPRS antenna. (See chapter 4. ) 19

WEB CONFIGURATION In this given example can be seen that there is thread of reselection between chosen cell on channel 30 and neighbor cell on channel 80, because their signal strength is very close Power status Information on power supply can be called up in option Power status in the main menu. Window is separated into 3 sections. Each section represents one available battery. If battery is inserted, type of installed battery, voltage and estimated capacity is displayed. In case of fixed power source, only status of supply voltage is displayed. Sections VBAT1 and VBAT2 displays operational parameters of external batteries. For example accumulator that can be connected to battery connector BAT1 and BAT2. VBAT providing voltage and capacity of internal battery for run in sleep mode. Type of external battery can be chosen in Power management in main menu (see chapter ). Choice of the battery type has influence to estimated capacity of the battery Wake up status Information about power supply can be called up in option Wake Up Status in the main menu. It is possible to find here these information: Reset time time, when modem have woke up from sleep Current time actual time in the moment of the page upload Next activity time time of next activity Next wake up time time of the next wake up from sleep mode Time to sleep time remaining to switch to sleep mode 20

LINKS AND INFORMATIONS 4. Quality of the GPRS signal CME8i Modems works with the aid of the GSM network. Modems contain GSM-GPRS modules, which are on the radio channel connected to a certain GSM cell. Its signal can be evaluated and displayed in web configuration of CME8i modem. The function is used first of all when installing the station and checking its function. From the obtained information, the following can be read: On which channel the station operates what is its signal strength, what neighbor channels are available and what their signal is strength. These data are often indispensable for the correct installation of the antenna Antenna installation for modems Good placement of antenna is required for good function. Important factors are GSM cell signal strength and signal quality. Signal strength could be obtained in web configuration in GPRS menu item. Second part is quality of signal. There is no exact measurement. Good point of view is from data transfer statistic. If number of lost packet is low, signal quality is good Good quality GPRS requirements: Serving cell signal better than 90 dbm, Adjacent cell signal below 12dB to serving cell, otherwise risk of interference If many cells with close levels (<3 db), be in danger of reselection (switch between cells, that caused bad time response or communication interruption). In this case is needed to extend difference between signals Example, station received these signals: PLMN : Cell : 69A6 Channel : 30 Level : -71 dbm (Ok) Neighbours : -76 dbm (80), -77 dbm (106), -82 dbm (57) 36

LINKS AND INFORMATIONS What does it means: module received cell 69A6 on channel 30 with level 71dBm, operator is 23001, there is possible to interference from channel 80, with level -79dBm, there is possible to reselection between channels 80 and 106, its level is so close. Way to fix Change type (from unidirectional to directional e.g. yagi), direction or place of antenna. After changing you must do measurements again. 5. To make possible complaint procedure easier please make sure when taking over the product your vendor has duly filled in all relevant parts of the warranty, including date, seal and signature. This complains procedure relates to the purchased products. This complains procedure does not relate to the services provided. Guarantee period of the products Guarantee period of 24 months from the date of purchase is provided for the device, source, antenna, data cable and possible accessories. The date of purchase is at same time date of takeover. Registering a claim It is necessary to register your claim at the vendor where the subject of the complaint has been purchased. The customer shall present duly filled warranty and the complete subject of the complaint. Subject of the complaint shall be presented in a condition adequate to that at the moment of purchase. Caution! The vendor is not responsible for keeping individual settings or data saved in the subject of the complaint. The customer is obliged to clarify the defect or how it is displayed and what claim he intended to register. Processing the complaint The vendor shall provide a free remedy depending on particular conditions, or replace the subject of the complaint for a new product, or settle the matter in another manner in compliance with the Civil Code and the Act on consumer s protection. As of the moment the claim is registered by the customer and the subject of the complaint is taken over by the vendor the vendor the guarantee period stops running. The guarantee period continues on the date of takeover of the repaired subject of the complaint or replaced faultless product by the customer, or should it not be taken over on the date the customer is obliged to take over the repaired or replaced product. In case the vendor replaces the subject of the complaint for a new product (including IMEI replacement) the original subject of the complaint becomes property of the purchaser. Since takeover of the new product a new guarantee period starts. In the cases when the vendor settles the matter after agreement with the customer by replacement of the subject of the complaint for a faultless product the new guarantee expires. 38

COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE 1. After 12 months since the replaced product was taken over by the customer. 2. In case the claimed defect is not found and functionality is proven to the customer, the customer is obliged to pay demonstrable cost related to expert assessment of the claimed defect. 5. In case defect is found when processing the complaint that is not covered by the guarantee (extra-warranty repair), the vendor shall inform the customer and the customer shall inform the vendor whether he/she wishes to have the defect repaired for the price set. A protocol shall be made on exact conditions of the extra-warranty repair and signed by both the customer and the vendor. Should the customer not require remedy through ad extra-warranty repair under the conditions, the device shall be returned to him/her after he/she pays the demonstrable cost of expert assessment.
