The WEB/SNMP Card is installed Communication Port #2 (ONLY ON A 9315). The Following Information is needed from the customer to complete installation: IP Address for the WEB/SNMP Card Gateway Address for the WEB/SNMP Card Subnet Mask for the WEB/SNMP Card DNS IP Address for the WEB/SNMP Card SMTP IP Address/Name for the WEB/SNMP Card Port 25 Must be open on customer Firewall or allow for access onto their SMTP Server for SMTP Relay The WEB/SNMP Card communications specifications are as followed: Computer Mode (ONLY ON A 9315) 9600 Baud No Parity 8 Data Bits 1 Stop Bit No Flow Control Procedure 1. Plug Laptop DB-9 Serial Port into RJ-45 Serial Port with provided Cable. 2. Open HyperTerminal and use the following for HyperTerminal configuration: Eaton Electrical Inc. Page 2 8/11/2006

Press <1> WEB/SNMP Card Settings, Press 6. Press <1> Set the IP Address, Gateway Address and MIB System Group, Press 7. Verify that the WEB/SNMP Card is at least 3.20/4.20, this is located on the first line of this menu. If firmware is not at 3.20/4/20, follow the upgrade instructions to get the WEB/SNMP Card to current release (located at Powerware.com, under software downloads, Connectivity Firmware, Flash Utilities and SNMP MIBs) 8. Press <1> IP Address, Press 9. Enter in the IP Address of the Web Card, Press 10. Press <2> Gateway Address, Press 11. Enter in the Gateway Address of the Web Card, Press 12. Press <3> Network Mask, Press 13. Enter in the Network Mask of the Web Card, Press 14. Press <4> DNS Server, Press 15. Enter in the DNS IP Address for the Web Card, Press 16. Press <5> Mail Server, Press 17. Enter in the Mail Server Address/Name for the Web Card, Press 18. Press <0> Return to Previous Menu, Press 19. Press <2> Set Web/SNMP Card Control Group, Press 20. Press <1> BOOTP/DHCP Control, Press 21. Press <2> Disable, Press 22. Press <3> TFTP Upgrade Control, Press 23. Press <1> Enable, Press 24. Press <0> Return to Previous Menu, Press 25. Press <9> Notification, Press 26. Press <4> Mail Receivers, Press 27. Press <1> Modify - Modify Table Entry, Press 28. Press <1> Entry Number:, Press 29. Disconnect RJ-45 from Serial Port on WEB/SNMP Card 47. Connect Ethernet Cable from Laptop to port 2 on WEB/SNMP Card 48. Change IP Address of Laptop to a Static IP on same subnet of WEB/SNMP Card 49. Change IP Address of Laptop to a Static IP the CSE must do the following: <Right Click> on My Network Places on the Desktop Move mouse to Properties, and then <Left Click> <Right Click> on Local Area Connection, and then <Left Click> Double <Left Click> on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Click <Use The Following IP Address>, and fill in proper information Enter an IP Address that is on the same subnet as UPS, but not the same as the UPS example (note RED below): 1. UPS IP Address (can not be a 0 or 255) 2. UPS Subnet Mask UPS Gateway Laptop IP Address or 11 (can not be a 0 or 255) 5. Laptop Subnet Mask Laptop Gateway After changing IP Address information, Press <OK>, 51. Press <OK> to Local Area Network Properties windows 52. If prompted to reboot, the click <Reboot>, if not prompted to reboot then open up Internet Explorer or Web Browser 53. Verify that there is link light on the WEB/SNMP Card for the Port that Laptop is plugged into. 54. In the URL Address Line enter the UPS IP Address (w/ or w/o any press 55. The WEB/SNMP Card Webpage should now be displayed 56. Verify that information is being communicated from the UPS to the WEB/SNMP Card 57. If the Webpage is displayed move from Port 2 to Port 3 and repeat steps 52-55, and then move from Port 3 to Port 4 and repeat steps If needed (dependent on NIC) get the Network X-Over cable and connect from Laptop to Port 1 of WEB/SNMP Card, and repeat steps CSE will go to Configuration on green bar on WEB/SNMP Card webpage 60. CSE will then go to Date and Time hyperlink under green bar. 61. CSE will click on Become SuperUser, enter in username <admin>, password <admin> Eaton Electrical Inc. Page 4 8/11/2006

CSE will then put in correct time and date or can synchronize with computer time into the fields on the Date and Time webpage, unless there is an NTP Server available (a NTP Server available is: DNS: time-a.timefreq.bldrdoc.gov IP: ) 63. CSE will click Set Values after changing Date and Time. 64. Disconnect all cables from UPS and WEB/SNMP Card 65. CSE Should undo all configuration changes to their laptop in step 48 (Check Obtain an IP Address Automatically and Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically) 66. Customer should connect their Network Cable to the WEB/SNMP card 67. Customer should verify link light on the WEB/SNMP Card 68. Customer should open their WEB Browser to the IP of the WEB/SNMP card and verify communications 69. CSE will have the customer go to NOTIFICATION under green bar 70. CSE will have the customer click Become SuperUser 71. CSE will then have the customer click Send Test, and verify that the CRC received the mail test/heartbeat 72. If CRC did not receive the mail test/heartbeat, then verify the following: CSE That the customer SMTP Server will allow for relay for the IP of the UPS or pwmonitor.com domain. If the customer needs an SMTP Server to allow for relay, then Powerware has a pwmonitor.com relay on the internet. That mail server address is ( ). They also must allow port 25 open on their firewall to allow for the UPS IP Address to send mail out port 25. That the information is entered into the units correctly. That there is not a Firewall blocking the WEB/SNMP Card. CRC That the UPS Unit is entered correctly into Metrix, so that it meets the emonitor criteria for MODELID/PRODUCTNAME. That the enotify system is not offline. 73. After verification that the CRC received then emonitor configuration is complete. 74. Customer is responsible for all security issues for the UPS (i.g. Changing of password, allowing HTTP access to UPS, Super User control, etc.) Eaton Electrical Inc. Page 5 8/11/2006
