3 Software Change Log Version Release Date Changes 1.0 1/15/2016 Initial Release Introduction and Installation Extensibility is a core aspect of the architecture and design of ThingWorx. Partners, third parties, and general ThingWorx users can easily add new functionality into the system, seamlessly. Extensions can be in the form of service (function/method) libraries, connector templates, widgets, and more. This document provides installation and usage instructions for the Open Street Map Extension. About the Open Street Map Extension The Open Street Map extension package implements a new widget for the ThingWorx Mashup Builder. Similar to the Google Maps widget, this widget allows you to embed an Open Street Map plugin in a panel of a mashup. Installing the Open Street Map Extension 1. From a web browser, launch ThingWorx Composer. 2. Log into ThingWorx Composer as an administrator. 3

4 3. Go to Import/Export > Import. 4. Click Choose File and select the Open Street Map Widget extension zip file. 5. Click Import. Note: If an Import Successful message does not appear, contact your ThingWorx System Administrator. Note: 6. Click Yes to refresh Composer after importing the final extension. 4

5 Usage and Configuration Usage 1. From Composer, use the Mashup Builder to create a new mashup. 2. In the list of widgets, locate the OpenStreetMap widget. 3. Before you can add the OpenStreetMap widget, you need to drag and drop the Panel widget onto your new mashup. Make sure the panel is open. 4. Now, drag and drop the OpenStreetMap widget onto the Panel. 5

From the right panel of the Mashup Builder, under the service name, drag and drop All Data (that is, all of the data that the service returns) into the OpenStreetMap widget on your mashup. 7. 7 8. In the Properties window for the OpenStreetMap widget, please select the appropriate property name from the list for the LocationField property. 9. Save the mashup, and then select View Mashup. When you view the mashup, the OpenStreetMap reflects the location data that the data service is returning by marking the locations. 7
