2 2 Welcome to Pixelwix MultiView Software Installing Pixelwix MultiView Software (software only) 1. Double-click on the installation file. This will launch the Install-shield Wizard. 2. Follow the on-screen instructions. 3.If you already have some of the support software installed just exit the individual installer 4. When prompted with the Keylok security key installation select USB dongle and Standalone. 5. Once the installation is complete, click Finish. Pixelwix MultiView Software is now ready to be used. 6. Insert USB Key into spare USB socket 7.Run MultiView Software Notes If you get an exemption from you anti-virus program you will have to add the software title to you safe program list or disable (recommended for non internet production server ) you ant-virus software If asked to allow MultiView Software to connect to the internet select unblock if you intend to use network features of the software Overview Pixelwix Multiview 8 server incorporates warp and blend image processing features to allow any combination of 6+ Projection display outputs to be edge blended and displayed on flat of curved displays. While allowing full internal windows applications and desktop to be presented it also features 8 HD/SDI capture streams and 8 layers to be placed within the display space all under preset control. This user guide is for the latter. Before using this software you would need to setup the output displays and the Pixelwarp software if applicable. Numeric boxes All numeric input boxes allow direct input of numbers, just click with a mouse and type using numeric keys to enter data. You can also change the data by clicking on the box and while holding the left mouse button drag mouse up or down. The box also responds to location click, if you click the right side of the box while dragging the mouse, this will cause the data to move in small amounts. The left side of the box will cause the data to move in large amounts.

3 3 This section describes the different application panels and their functionality Below is a full screen-shot of the application: If you are evaluating Pixelwix Products the first thing you will notice is the no key detection box. Just press NO on the panel and the words demo will appear on the output screen and stay running for approx 15 minutes and then the words Time Out will appear. On MultiView 8/4 servers this key is located within the server unit

4 4 Setting up the Output Display Output Panel The output window is the window for all the input windows to display within. This technique allows you to shrink and move or scale all the input windows within one window quickly. This would be useful if you wanted to use Windows software at the same time as the MultiView software on a large blended screen. There are two quick keys H to hide and restore the output window and Esc key to go full screen and back. The MultiView panel has to have been clicked for these quick controls to work. The overall output window can be displayed on a second monitor or projectors or the same display as the Multiview Software player.. If your external display is 1920 x 1080 (HD) then that is the width and height you would set in the width and height box. The horizontal position is where you wish your output to be in relationship to your monitor screen. Example 1: I have two monitors, one has the Pixelwix MultiView Software application on it at 1024 x 768 resolution, my output display is a projector at 1920 x 1080 so for this option I would need a output of 1920x1080 and a horizontal position 1024 and a vertical position of 0 (assuming my displays are setup to be side by side and the projector is on the right of my application display). Example 2: I have 3 projectors connected via the graphic card and grouped Horizontally 3+1. and a single monitor at 1920 x My 3 projectors are 1280 x 800 so for this option your output is 3840 x 800 and a horizontal position 1920 and a vertical position of 0 (assuming my projector display group ion the right of my monitor display). Once you have entered your setting it would now be a good time to save the setting within a preset and save this to disc.

5 5 Border This allows a windows standard border to be shown on the output box, you can use this to position your output window with the mouse by clicking the top of the border and moving the mouse. Also you can size the window just like normal windows display panels. Your size and placement of the out put window update the input boxes Inputs MultiView server 4/8 ships with 4 or 8 SDI inputs located on the back of the server. The input boxes allow control of the input to a window that can be placed and sized anywhere within the output window. Board one the shown above with the SDI cables inserted are inputs 1-4 from the bottom. Board two has inputs 5-8 from the bottom.

6 6 Once you have inserted an SDI signal in the correct input you would then switch on that corresponding input on the MultiView panel below. The pull down menu allows you to select the input resolution type and scan freq of your input signal. Mostly a PC signal is 60htz and a Broadcast signal from a cable box would be 59.94htz. The resolution and scan rate at both ends must be the same for any image to be displayed. The input window sizes are entered as a numeric percentage of the output box so.5 is 50% of the current output window size. The left size box would be the horizontal size and the right size box the vertical size. The position box is based from the center ( 0 0 ) of the output window so the box on the left would be the horizontal position and the right box the vertical. Negative and positive numbers in the left position box will move the image window left or right. Negative and positive numbers in the right position box will move the image window up or down. Capture windows have a z order of 8 down so a window with a higher number will display over a lower number input window if overlapped. Image. You can load background images for the output window buy clicking the red icon a picking you image.

7 7 The image off button allows you to toggle the image on and off. When the image is in the off position you can color the output window using the color picker and adjust the saturation slider. Presets The panel below allows us to save various control data. To recall presets we can use the pulldown menu and select the preset by name or use the numeral buttons to select it by number. You can also use qwerty keyboard keys 1 though 9. Pause Controls This stops keyboard controls switching the presets. Saving a preset. Now press the edit button and you will see the panel below. Once you have made your changes within your preset, you can save it to a number. You can save a total of 9 presets at one time to a single file on you drive. At the middle of the panel, you can enter the current preset number you wish to store to. The numeric buttons let you choose the memory location and the text box allows for a name with no spaces. Then click the save preset button You have now saved one preset.

8 8 You can now save all nine presets to a single file by clicking the write button and then name the presets file for later re-call using the read button. The factory preset file is located inside the folder called Pixelwix MultiView Software in the programs folder and named MultiView -presets. This is the file MultiView Software which loads at start-up. NOTE Preset file called MultiView-presets within the Pixelwix MultiView Software folder will be the preset file recalled at start up and the preset in slot number 1 will be pre loaded.
