1 Dolphin 3D Reports Sending image(s) to report Click Send Snapshot on any screen in Dolphin3D and choose the Send to Report option Creating a report step by step 1. Generate the desired images in Dolphin3D and hit Send to Report to copy them to the report window a. Once opened, the report window stays loaded for the current scan, even if you click the X button to close it (it will just minimize to the system tray). Send more images or click on the icon in the system tray to bring it back up again. b. The report window does not block Dolphin3D, so you can drag it to a second monitor or keep it in the background as you work with Dolphin3D. 2. When the report window first launches, it will ask you to load a stored template. If the list is empty (because you haven t saved any templates yet) or you wish to design a template from scratch, hit cancel. 3. Select File->New Template to start work on a new template. This brings up the Page Setup dialog where you can choose paper size and orientation as well as the background color and margins. Margins act as guidelines, the program will allow you to place objects outside the margins although it will warn if you do so. 4. Place Image placeholders on the page, either by dragging from the Image gallery or by clicking the Add Image button on the toolbar. The image placeholder is designed to hold a single image such as a Pano, volume rendering, or logo image (loaded from the hard drive). This is in contrast to the Image Group placeholder which can only hold sets of cross sections. a. Any object can be selected by clicking on it, hold the Control key and click to select multiple objects. b. Move objects by dragging them, and resize by dragging the corner handles.

2 c. Double-click (or right-click and select properties) to bring up the Properties dialog. This is true for any object in the report. On the properties dialog you have a number of settings available such as placing rulers along the sides of the image, whether the image should print as 1:1 or not, etc. d. To display a logo, place an Image placeholder on the page, go to the Properties and select the Image tab. Select From File and click Browse to choose an image file from your hard drive. 5. Place Image Group placeholders in the same way as the Image objects if you have cross sections that you want to put on the page. a. Open the properties dialog (by double-clicking or right-clicking and selecting Properties) to specify setting for the Image Group object. b. An important setting is the Layout settings on the General tab. Here you can control how the cross sections are laid out within the placeholder object. i. No cropping This option means that the Image Group object will simply try to display as many slices as it can within its current dimensions without letting any slice get cropped. ii. Define rows and columns With this option you can manually define how many rows and columns the object will display. So the slices may be cropped if the space available for each slice is less than their actual slice, or if the space available for each slice is larger then there will be blank space between the slices. iii. NOTE: If the slices get cropped by defining rows and columns you can hold down the Shift key and click-drag on a slice to offset it (and all the others) within the viewing area. This way you may be able to show more cross sections than otherwise on a page and still have the relevant anatomy show. c. On the Labels tab are settings for the indicators on each cross section such as slice number and buccal lingual labels. You can set the font, size, color, and position of these labels. d. On the Rulers tab you can set properties for displaying rulers on the control, either for the whole placeholder or on each slice. e. NOTE: Cross sections are always rendered 1:1, for single images this is an optional setting. 6. Place Text Labels to display patient information or any other text info a. Double-click a label to edit the text (and font, color, etc). You can also insert data tokens from the drop-down menu into the text, to pull information from the database such as patient name, ID, DOB, timepoint name and date, etc. 7. When the layout of the template looks ok, save the template by selecting File->SaveTemplate As, pick a descriptive name and the template definition gets saved in a folder under the working directory on your server. This means that the saved template will be available to all computers on your network and that the template definition will be backed up along with all the images in the working folder in the regular backup job on your server.

3 Reporting Window 1. Image Gallery All images you send to the report module are placed in this scrollable cache of images. From here they can be dragged to a page in the report or into an existing image placeholder on the report page. Note that we store a separate copy of the image when it gets sent to the report, which means that you can make adjustments to the image in the Dolphin3D screen and send to report again, and the new images will be added to the bottom of this list. a. Right-click any image in the image gallery to see a larger view of the image (or set of cross sections) b. Right-click on the gallery window (in a place not occupied by an image) to get the following options i. Fill from timepoint provides the ability to add all the images from a specific timepoint in 2D Imaging to the Image Gallery for use in the report. ii. Hide Image Gallery (there is an option on the View menu to show it again, or keyboard shortcut Ctrl+I to toggle it on and off). 2. Page preview list Contains a scrollable list of preview images of all the pages in the report. This helps getting an overview when the main view is zoomed into a smaller area of the page. a. Clicking on any of the pages in the preview list selects that page in the report. b. Double-clicking a page scrolls that page into view and zooms to fit it on the screen. c. Right-clicking on a page gives the following options. i. Re-ordering pages by moving the clicked page to a different position in the list. ii. Toggle an Exclude page from printout setting to determine whether a page should be printed or not (for example, when a set of cross sections span 5 pages maybe only the first 3 pages are needed, exclude the last 2 to only print the pages you want). iii. Deleting the clicked page iv. Hiding the Page Preview window (there is an option on the View menu to show it again, or keyboard shortcut Ctrl+G to toggle it on and off). 3. Main page view This is the main view of you report, scrollable with the handle on the far right. This is where you design the report and make any adjustments.

Right-click the image slot and select Open Report to open the report window from 2D Dolphin and get access to the report without needing to open Dolphin 3D. 6. 5 8. Print Send report to printer. 9. Print to preset printer(s) Same as Print, except if you have selected a default printer for any of the pages then they will be sent there. This means that different pages in a single report can be sent to different printers. For example, xray images can be sent to one type of printer and photos and volume snapshots can be sent to another, while still maintaining the numbering of the pages. 10. Exit Closes the report window. Note that while still in Dolphin3D the report window isn t completely closed when selecting Exit or clicking the closeout X in the upper right corner. The report window is only minimized to the system tray so that no work is lost. When exiting Dolphin3D the report window is also closed and optionally the current report state is saved. Edit Menu 1. Undo Undo the last action, currently this applies to moving and sizing objects, changing the properties of an object, and adding/deleting an object. There is no limit to the number of undo steps kept in memory. 2. Redo Reverse the last undo operation. There is no limit to the number of redo operations kept in memory, but making changes to the report after performing the undo will in most cases clear the redo list to keep the report in a consistent state. 3. Copy page to clipboard Takes a snapshot of the currently selected page (or only page in a single page report) and store it on the Windows clipboard as an image. 4.
