2 WARNING: This application is distributed only as a beta version it may contain some bugs. Usage of the application is therefor not recommend in cases requiring absolutely reliable functionality! Always make sure you are using the newest version available. 1 HOW TO USE THIS MANUAL Manual is divided into chapters following steps user will follow while using the application. In each chapter controls and attributes are described. We assume user is able to basically operate the device on which the application will run. 2 REQUIREMENTS ON TARGET DEVICE Java 2 MicroEdition, profile 2 (J2ME MIDP-2.0) fulfilled by most of current mobile phones Working GPRS (we suggest UMTS or EDGE) or other connection to the Internet your Internet connection must work in mobile browser Support of RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) is not vital, but you won t be able to see the live video 3 WHAT IS THE APPLICATION GOOD FOR? Allows watching of live video or static snaphots from IP cameras. Cameras can be also easilly controlled. You can add up to four devices into the Device list and you can easily switch between them. 4 INSTALLATION AND RUNNING THE APPLICATION Install the application to your phone the same way as other Java applications. Run it also in according to Product Manual of your phone. 2

3 5 LOADING PROCESS After executing opening logo of company KOUKAAM a.s. is displayed, it will vanish in a short while. Screen describing loading of data stored in application is following. After sucessful loading this screen vanishes and next step follows. In case of any troubles the list is stopped and detailed information about the issue are displayed. Then you can move to next step. If your device does not support RTSP (for video transmission), warning is displayed (fig. 1) together with a question if you would like to display the error message in the future. When the main menu is displayed (fig. 2) application is ready to operate. 6 MAIN MENU Main menu looks like showed in fig. 2 Menu consists of five items DEVICE LIST, ADD DEVICE, SETTINGS, ABOUT and EXIT For description of DEVICE LIST see chapter Working with existing devices For description of ADD DEVICE - see chapter Adding a new device For description of SETTINGS - see chapter Application Settings Selecting item ABOUT will show application version and web address of the producer company KOUKAAM a.s. If EXIT is selected, application will close and all changed settings saved. Closing the application other way may cause settings not being saved all or properly. 3

4 7 APPLICATION SETTINGS Settings page is showed in fig. 3 Selecting a LANGUAGE option will show a list of supported languages (fig. 4). After selection is made and button BACK pressed, application will be switched to selected language. You can repair damaged application s database by executing PURGE DATABASE option. This option should be used only if application during the loading procedure shows warning messages as described in chapter Loading Process, or if setting after correct application close were not saved properly or not at all. Purging of the database must be confirmed (fig. 5) 8 ADDING A NEW DEVICE TO THE LIST At first select the type of the device you are going to add (fig. 6). If you select wrong type, information from that device could be displayed inproperly or not at all. Wrongly selected type can t be corrected you must remove the device from the list and add it once more. Fill in all displayed setting items (fig. 7) and press SAVE button. Then a question if you would like to perform a basic device check appears. If you select YES, phone will try to connect to the remote device and check if user name, password, ports and device type are set properly and will inform about the result. If you select NO, device check won t be performed. You can perform device check in the future by selecting Device check in device menu. Device is added into the list and prepared for use. Device menu is showed (fig. 10). 4

5 9 WORKING WITH EXISTING DEVICES You can reach list of previously added devices by clicking DEVICE LIST in the main menu. Select required device in the list (fig. 11). Device setting are displayed (fig. 10). Some options may vary based on device type. Options BACK, DELETE, SETTINGS and DEVICE CHECK are common for all devices. Options SNAPSHOT and VIDEO could be used only for cameras/videoservers. Selecting BACK will return you to Device list. After pressing DELETE button dialog appears, after confirmation device is removed from the list permanently. If you would like to change parameters like address, port or username/password, select Settings and edit required form fields (fig. 7). We suggest to perform basic Device check each time after changing those values. Option DEVICE CHECK see chapter Adding a new device.options SNAPSHOT and VIDEO are described in chapters below. 5

6 10 SNAPSHOT This function downloads one static snapshot from the camera/videoserver and displays the image resized in according to phone display resolution (fig. 13). Control keys: o 1,3 showes snapshot of the previous/next device in the Device list o 2,4,6,8 in fullscreen mode moves image on the display o 5 image refresh (same as command REFRESH) o * go back to device menu o # - switch to/from fullscreen mode 11 VIDEO Live video will be streamed from the camera/videoserver. Video is delayed for approximately 5 seconds because of the speed of mobile phone. Control keys: o 1,3 showes video of the previous/next device in the Device list o 2,4,6,8 contol of camera PTZ movement (if supported on camera) o 5 executes camera Patrol mode (if supported on camera) o 0 returnes to camera Home position (if supported on camera) o * allows user to move camera to selected Preset position (if supported on camera) o # switch to/from fullscreen mode 2007 KOUKAAM a.s.
