2 Introduction This is a driver which enables Merit Lilin IP camera and DVR products to integrate with Control4. This driver is provided free of charge and we do not provide support on the installation of the cameras themselves. Please read these instructions carefully. Supported Models We have tested this driver with a range of Merit Lilin products. However given the extent of the range we cannot guarantee compatibility with every product. IP Cameras Lilin have a very extensive range of IP cameras. We have tested this driver with a number of cameras Lilin had available in the UK and on every camera we could find available on the Internet. The driver will display images both from the Static cameras and provide control over PTZ cameras too with zoom and presets. DVR The driver has been tested with both the DVR-3 and DVr-5 ranges. These DVRs accept analog cameras but will then convert the analog video into a stream that can be displayed on the Control4 interfaces. The driver not only enables the display of images but also PTZ control of compatible cameras connected to the DVR. Please not there is no control over the DVR functions themselves. So you cannot access menus or recordings via the driver. NVR When using the driver with this product it will only display the matrix view of all the cameras connected to the NVR. Lilin may alter their software to enable individual camera views in which case we will update our drivers. What it does The driver allows images from the cameras to be displayed on the Control4 interfaces. That s what it does, and that s all that it does! You cannot control the recording software, make any adjustments to the camera or provide any other functions (other than PTZ functions). 3 very strict on what is possible and we have implemented all the current available features. Test before you install Please test the installation of this driver in your office or shop before you attempt to install on your customer s site. Installation is straightforward but if you have never used it before you probably don t want to be learning in front of your excited customer We will provide support, please create a support ticket via our website. Installing the Driver This driver does not require an activation key. It can be freely used on all of your Control4 projects. Copy the driver files The package contains a single driver for the Cameras. It is the same driver regardless of the camera model you are using. You must copy this file to your My Documents - Control4 - Drivers folder on your PC. Add the driver to your project First you need to add the driver to your project. This is found under others manufacturer Lilin. You will find 34 drivers are available. There are 16 drivers each for both static and PTZ cameras attached to one of the Lilin DVRs. There are also two drivers for standalone IP cameras one static and the other PTZ. You should add the correct drivers to your project. 4 Setting Up the Driver You need to enter the IP address you have assigned to your camera or DVR at the top part of the Properties box. Please ensure you set the camera to a fixed IP address not DHCP otherwise on a power failure the camera may acquire a different IP address. Set the username and password in the Authentication area. By default these are both admin and 1111 but if you changed them on the camera enter the new values here. PLEASE NOTE If you press the Test HTTP Connection button you may not get a successful message. Instead you may see a message like that below: Although the test may not complete successfully you will still see an image on the Control4 interfaces. When you have completed setting up all the cameras in your installation don t forget to refresh the navigators. Extra Vegetables Lilin IP Cameras/DVR Page 4 of 7

6 Troubleshooting and Gotchas If you or your customer is experiencing problems with the driver there are a number of things to check in the system. Is there power to the camera? Can you view the camera images on a web browser. Power cycle the camera. Check the IP address on the player. Is this the same as the IP address entered in Composer.
