1 User Interface changes - from E4/B9 to E5/B10 software New Features Overview Gatekeeper Authentication Longer Dial Strings (60 characters, Dial menu and Directory) Alpha/Numeric input switching in text fields and Dial prompt KOI8-R Character-set used with Russian Menu language for Russian names in Phonebook Menu unification o New Phonebook arrangement like F3 o / Now all have camera brightness in Utilities menu o Navigation within text input fields o H.323 ID configuration in menu o Encryption status icons now with blue background like F3 and the other new icons from E4.1 New Files page on web for uploading/downloading logo and parameter files User Interface Changes H.235 Authentication When enterprise endpoints are register with a gatekeeper that supports authentication (like TANDBERG Gatekeeper or TANDBERG Border Controller), the gatekeeper verifies the endpoints credentials against LDAP/H.350 database in the enterprise. Note that an NTP (Network Time Protocol) server is needed by the authentication algorithm. Fig 1: Gatekeeper Settings

2 Fig 2: NTP Settings Restrictions: Requires NTP sever New Phonebook Structure E5 has restructured the Phone book to make this more user friendly. Only two directories will be displayed at one time. The local contacts, which will now be in a new folder called My Contacts and the corporate or global directory which will be displayed in either folders or individual entries under the My Contacts folder. If neither corporate directory nor global directories are in use for the system, the local contacts will be unfolded and the entries displayed directly below Last Number Dialed (like the old local directory from E3/E4). My Contacts My Contacts folder in the phonebook corresponds to local directory entries that can be entered, edit, or deleted from the user or web interface. Corporate Directories Corporate directories in phonebook are folders that are pulled from the TMS server to the endpoints. The folders or contact entries in case of a single TMS phonebook are listed below the My Contacts that unitizes TANDBERG Manager Suite (TMS) for real time listings of directories. Corporate directory when enabled and communicating with TMS will overwrite global directories. If the system can not connect to the server, it will use the Global Directory as a backup if available. Global Directories Global directories are a file called globdir.prm that s uploaded to the endpoint ftp server from TANDBERG Manager Suite (TMS). Global directories will only be displayed if a globdir.prm file is loaded to the endpoint and corporate directory is disabled.

3 Fig 5: Corporate Directory New Alpha Numeric Characters E5 support alpha numeric input switching in text fields, press and hold # for one second to toggle between numbers and characters. When in characters mode, briefly pressing the # will switch between upper and lower case. A small graphical symbol at the end of input field signals the current mode. Fig 3: Dial Menu

4 New Camera Brightness Camera brightness has been added in the Utilities menu for all TANDBERG classic product line to make it like the T1000 classic. New H.323 ID in H.323 Settings Menu The H.323 ID may now be changed from the menu.

5 New Blue Background for icons The microphone, volume, and encryption icons now have blue background like in the TADBERG MXP product line. Fig 4: New blue background icons

H239 H.239 is a new standard for transmitting and receiving dual video streams. H239 can be enabled/disabled from the Call Quality menu.

7 DNAM Support DNAM has been added as possible value for Audio Module in the Audio Outputs menu: Auto NAT Auto NAT allows the user to place calls to private ip addresses on the LAN when connected to a NAT router (private IP ranges: 10.x.x.x, x.x and x.x). Auto NAT can be enabled by setting NAT to Auto in the Advanced H.323 Settings menu.

8 SideBySide Allows the user to see both the main monitor and the logical dual monitor on a single screen. Enabling/Disabling of SideBySide has been added to the Video Settings menu. When SideBySide is enabled, pushing the move pip key on the remote will toggle between Full screen layout and SideBySide layout if the system is in a call. Corporate Directory The Corporate Directory allows the user to browse on a directory stored on a remote server. Configuration of the address and path to the remote server is done from the Corporate Directory menu in the Terminal Settings menu. NOTE! If the system is registered in TMS these configurations will be updated automatically.
