3 New Functions Copying / saving ProPlan (copying and opening) Version already provided the functions for copying a ProPlan project via the File menu. The Project copy (only archive) function is a new addition. This function saves the copied project in the background but does not open it in ProPlan. The previous copy functions have been renamed to clearly describe the functions. The previous Project copy function is now called Project copy under (copy and open). This function copies the selected project and opens it directly ProPlan. The previous Project copy as viewer project was simply changed with the addition (only archive). This function saves the copied project as a Viewer project but does not open it automatically. AmpereSoft ToolSystem Update Info 3

4 New db parameters for cable ducts and top hat rail For the cable duct and top hat rail equipment types the key label generator provides new placeholders for the width, height, length and drill hole information of an element. These new placeholders enable you to output all necessary information on cable ducts and top hat rails via forms, the Project Explorer or the display directly at the symbol: The following information is output with the placeholders: Width, height, length Drill hole Drill holes: Diameter, drill holes: Distance, Drill holes: First distance Dimensions of the element This outputs whether it is a drill hole or a thread. 5 Defining CD parts in the Symbol Editor Already when a main symbol is created, you can now define fixed symbols for CD parts already in the Symbol Editor. The assigned symbol is automatically offered to you when the CD part is assigned. The CD part symbols are assigned via Edit > Assign CD parts in the Symbol Editor: This provides the following functions: 1. Insert (Position free) 2. Insert (Coupled to position) 3. Delete 4. Edit. Create (position-free): With this assignment you can assign a symbol of your choice to a CD parts definition, irrespective of its part position number. The CD Parts List is reached via the CD part definition button. Here you select the required CD parts type. Select the required symbol for it via Symbol name. AmpereSoft ToolSystem Update Info 5

6 In this example, the make contact symbol D0KB1P1 is assigned for a CD part 101. Create (position-bound): With this assignment you can assign a symbol of your choice to a CD parts definition with a specific part position number. Each part / each part combination can be assigned a symbol. Position-bound assignments have priority over position-free assignments. This means different symbols can be assigned to a CD part definition. The appropriate symbol is set according to its position. In our example all make contacts with the definition 101 are placed with the symbol D0KB1P1 apart from when the make contact is located at position 4. In this case the symbol A21KZ1101P1 is placed. 7 Key labels for Single-line view, P&ID view, Fluid view > Cross reference between the display types New key labels are available for single-line view, P&ID view, Fluid view. db(slicomp) db(pidcomp) db(wadcomp) > for the single-line symbol > for the P&ID symbol > for the fluid symbol These key labels enable the display of information related to the particular view to be shown at any required position. These key labels are particularly useful for creating lists as well as for the cross reference view at the symbol. Example: To display the cross references of single-line, P&ID and fluid view at the circuit diagram choose Equipment:> Single-line view/p&id view/fluid view[> 1] Cross reference in the key label generator and position the key label at the appropriate symbol. These generated placeholders on the circuit diagram symbol enable the corresponding cross references to be linked to the relevant symbols. In our example we have added a free text to the key label: AmpereSoft ToolSystem Update Info 7

9 Definition of universal connections in the Symbol Editor for booking symbols Automation technology includes connections that may have variable functions. These individual functions can either be determined by software or by jumper. ProPlan allows you to define these variable connections in the Symbol Editor using the device definition heading PLC Engineering Pt. T5. Sample extract from the device definition selection: For one universal analog or digital connection (without input or output definition) 2 connections must be defined together. For one universal connection (without definition of input or output and without definition of digital or analog) 4 connections must be defined together. If the CD parts have more the one connection, set and define the corresponding multiple of connections on the main symbol. AmpereSoft ToolSystem Update Info 9

10 To place the CD parts in the diagram, choose in the CD parts overview, via Place combination in diagram. The alternative selection is offered according to your selected device definition. In our example, 6 connections were assigned together the definition PLC Digital Input 3 Connection Connect (universal) and the Digital input type when placed in the diagram New form for label output A new XML form is provided for outputting the labels of the equipment IDs. EN-3000-EQID-LABEL You can output this information directly in Excel or in a text file. For the latter the Export design forms to ASCII file option must be activated under Interfaces > ASCII in the system settings. The File name (path) to design form ASCII file setting enables the path and filename of the text file to be defined. New Settings Multilingual output: Potential texts with the potential symbol It is now possible to set separately for potential texts with the potential symbol whether only display language 1 is to be included for a multilingual output. System settings > Foreign languages > Only display language 1 > *Potential texts in potential symbol on: Only display language 1 is shown off: All display languages are shown Either cross / and dash with circle selectable for reference point view It is now possible to toggle between the established cross and the often used dash with circle display for the reference point view. Improvements in the Application - The communication between ProPlan and MatClass has been improved. - Cable ducts and top-hat rails Symbols can be assigned color attributes at a later time for already drawn cable ducts and top-hat rails. Cable ducts and top-hat rails can now be provided with a Z axis. - When Copying CD parts the order of the free contacts of equipment is now included. - A new tab has been provided in the Equipment Project Explorer for displaying and editing fluid symbols. - Special characters such as commas, colons, semicolons, parentheses etc. are now converted in the DXF export to (underline) characters. Umlauts are converted according to the convention "ä" -> "ae". This improves the import quality of ProPlan DXF exports in AutoCAD. - When Copying equipment the entry No location was not included in the location request. The sheet location is assigned instead when placing the equipment. If No location is actually to be used for the copied equipment, the new switch in the system settings must be set to ignore under Handling-actions > Copy options > Location grid. - The locations are now correctly assigned for Copying equipment with the Main location prefix "++" and the Sublocation prefix "+". - The Changing of terminals without material can now be carried out again without the risk of crashing. - PDF output The page margins for the PDF output can now be set via the system settings. The color of graphic symbols is now included with the PDF and DXF output - The PLC lists export and import now functions error-free and without special characters in the comment field - Through the installation of a higher ToolSystem version the Symbol path of the 1st entered project in the system settings was changed. If you have set your own symbol project as the 1st entry, this is no longer changed from now on through a ToolSystem installation. AmpereSoft ToolSystem Update Info 13

14 AmpereSoft MatClass 2. AmpereSoft MatClass 2.1. New Functions Export / import of MatClass system settings You can now export and import your system settings. You can now use this function to copy the settings made to other PCs and to save different setting combinations for particular work processes. The settings are saved in a file with the suffix.amperesoftsettings Resetting system settings to default values If you wish to reset your system settings to the default settings supplied by AmpereSoft you can now do this via the Default values function in the system settings Length and diameter properties There are two new properties provided in the dimensions area. 15 AmpereSoft MatClass Export MIME data Using the new export function for MIME data allows you to export the MIME data of material items relating to a specific type and purpose. Example: download of design verification documents 1. Select the appropriate material items in the opened material database 2. Go to the menu Material > External data > Export and use the function MIME data 3. In the following dialog choose the MIME type application/pdf and the purpose design_verification.. Specify the destination path. If not existing, the directory will be created. By default, the directory of the opened material database will be choosen. 4. Start the export with the appropriate button. The documents will be downloaded and copied to the destination path Properties window If a heading of the properties is selected in the Properties window, this is now displayed in the parentheses behind the window title Properties (XXX) BMEcat Import / Export Some improvements and adaptions have been made in the area of importing and exporting BMEcat files. For example, the import of files containing multiple classification systems and catalog structures is more tolerant. When creating a BMEcat file it is now possible to output multiple languages to one file. AmpereSoft ToolSystem Update Info 15

New Settings Loading databases automatically It is now possible to set directly in the system settings that particular databases are loaded automatically when MatClass is started. You are able here to create the database paths and select explicitly which database(s) is/are to be loaded automatically. AmpereSoft ToolSystem Update Info 16

17 AmpereSoft MatClass Options for the MIME data import The import of the MIME data now contains 3 selection options for carrying out the import File suffix for classification systems and structures In order to better distinguish the files of the classification systems and structures from databases, the file suffix has now been changed to AmpereSoftClassification. 18 AmpereSoft MatClass 2.3. Improvements in the Application - There is no longer a demo license. After the testing time expires MatClass automatically switches to Viewer mode. - The import for the Exclude from part list feature has been improved. The texts "True/False" or their respective national translations (e.g. "Ja/Nein") are accepted as values in an Excel cell. - MatClass now provides AmpereSoft standard layouts. These are available for the ProPlan and TemperatureCalculator application area. - The deletion of ProPlan project material is now also possible in an individually started session of MatClass. - Under certain access conditions, the material entries of a database were marked as deleted and were no longer visible in the MatClass user interface. This problem has been rectified. - The MatClass conflict dialog window now appears again in the foreground when copying equipment with the same ID. - The editing of a property in the User defined arrangement window now no longer leads to an error message. - The display of the number of equipment items used of a ProPlan project was corrected. Searching for Content with the & or Space Characters It is now possible to search for text, symbols and material in which the characters "&" or a space appear Licensing Change From version the ToolDataManager changes to Light mode when the test license expires. The ToolDataManager Light enables you to have a user-defined overview of your ProPlan projects as well as search and filter functions for fixed and key labels in read mode Saving of ToolDataManager Settings The current layout for exporting can be changed via Extras > Settings. An exported layout can also be imported. The settings are saved in an XML file. This function enables you to pass on settings to other PCs. AmpereSoft ToolSystem Update Info 19

20 AmpereSoft TemperatureCalculator 4. AmpereSoft TemperatureCalculator 4.1. Navigation in the System Settings Navigation in the system settings as well as in the project settings has been optimized. Navigation to Referenced Elements References on the left have a button for opening a window which contains a list of children (down) or the tree of the parent section (up). The list is used for the rapid creation of new children and the tree for selecting/creating new parents Source Database Accessible via Material Database Right-clicking an entry in a material list opens the context menu with the item Show -> In source database which shows the material in its MatClass database if this can be found User Text Configuration via Key Label Generator The user text configuration has been provided with a key label generator in which it is possible to click together the references to data and meta data Import / Export The import and export now feature an XML mode as well as the Excel mode. A report output (with form) has also been provided for the export. When importing from MatClass, but also when entering identifying texts for references, it is also possible to search for suitable elements for importing (e.g. supplier, unit). You can export the parts list data of your ProPlan project in ProPlan to an XML file via Import/Export > Export: XML. This requires the supplied configuration file ExportToolSystem.xml. This generated file can then be imported in the TemperatureCalculator via Import > Import-Project > XML Format Adding/Removing Besides the previous New/Delete functions, the new Add/Remove functions are also now available. Add is used to add an already existing element to a list and Remove is used to remove it without deleting it. The Add function also enables you to select existing elements from template databases. 22 AmpereSoft TemperatureCalculator 4.7. Template Databases A new system was incorporated for template data which can be configured via the system settings (Templates-Data-Settings). Normal projects can be defined as a template database. The data obtained from template databases can be compared with their sources via the MasterData menu.
