2 Slide 2 - Center: Center is the data. (updated nightly from RQ4). Every transaction ever processed. - Left Side (what we do): - Standard Reports, Visualizations - Right Side (what you do): - Create custom reports - Ad hoc reports (quick enquiries, exploring, not well defined requirements)
3 Slide 3 You re working with partners, vendors, carriers, payroll, internal teams, and they sometimes need specific data. This gives you almost all of your data in whatever format you want it. Rather than tasking various people with gathering data on their particular area and manually sending around reports, automate reporting on a schedule (saving staff time, and getting information out faster, more consistently) Most business have different ideas about how to be successful. Are we concentrating on profit per activation? Maximizing the amount of accessories you sell? Selling only certain types of products that move quickly? Managing Inventory well? Commission structure? **Whatever you keep performance indicators are, with B.I. you can focus attention on the numbers that matter most to your business and get this data in front of you employees, giving them a chance to act on it. In the end, you re allowing your staff to make better, more informed decisions at every level of your organization (sales people, managers, buyers).

13 Slide 13 Render Format: File format options (Word Doc, PDF, Excel, etc) Comment: Message that will be sent with report. Select Schedule: Chose when report will be sent
14 Slide 14 Start Time: is set to Mountain Time Start and End Dates: Specify when this subscription should start and end. Click ok Specify what you want to see when the report is run. For example, if this subscription is being sent to the manager for Store1, chose Store1 from the drop-down list. When the is sent out, this report will only show Store1 data. Click Ok. **Setting up subscriptions is one way to limit the data a user can see as well as supplying them the information directly to their inboxes.

16 Slide 16 We ll call it My Folder From the menu, go to Security
17 Slide 17 Click on New Role Assignment You can also create security roles for a specific individual rather than a security group: IQDCA\First Last@DBName You must have security groups created in RQ4 in order to add them to the folder securities
18 Slide 18 When someone from that group logs into B.I. they will only see the folders they have been given access to.
19 Slide 19 A linked report is a child report created from a mother report. Any changes made on the mother report will automatically pass onto its children Linked reports can then be put into their respective folders. Hover over the report and click the arrow to open the menu Click Create Linked Report
20 Slide 20 Give this report a name Let s look at the parameters by clicking on the properties tab
21 Slide 21 We have provided a Cheat Sheet where you can view a list of your locations and their default values. To Access the Cheat Sheet Home > iqmetrix Report Builder Templates > ReportParameterValueLists
22 Slide 22 Find the Location you want to use. Highlight and copy the text.
23 Slide 23 Copy and paste the necessary values from the Cheat Sheet It is also good practice to check the Hide box to lock the parameter. This means that the viewer will not be able to change it when they run the report.
24 Slide 24 Let s save this new report in the new folder we made earlier.
25 Slide 25 When we run this report, it will automatically run for Store 1. If I had chosen to hide the parameter, we wouldn t see here. Nor would we be able to change it

Click Edit in Report Builder Use the same login credentials to access Report Builder. **Click Remember my password to skip this step next time
29 Slide 29 Expand the Datasets folder Right-Click on Main Click on Dataset Properties A Dataset acts as a basket in which you will put all of the necessary ingredients (or data) for your report. Once we have collected all of our ingredients, we can then focus on displaying the data in an understandable way (bake our pie!)
30 Slide 3 1. Click on Query Designer. Think of the Query Designer as the grocery store. (The place where you access the needed Data) 2. Same login credentials once again **Check Save Password to skip this step next time
31 Slide 31 On the lift side you will see a list of categories. These are called Data Hierarchies. Scroll down to the hierarchy named Regions and Stores. Expand the folder Grab Regions and Stores.Regions and Stores and add it to your query by clicking and dragging it into the large box on the right
32 Slide 32 Next, we will create a custom measure. Click the icon that looks like a calculator. **A custom measure is needed for values where two ideas are joined. For example: Accessory Sales joins the Accessory performance group with the Sales measure. Upgrades would join the Upgrade performance group with the Quantity measure.
33 Slide Give the custom Measure a name 2. In the bottom-left you will see the same list of hierarchies that we mentioned before. 3. Scroll down to the Performance Groups 4. Find the Performance Group related to Accessories. Click and drag it into the box above
34 Slide Scroll back up to the top to find the Measures Category. Expand it 6. Scroll down to find Sales Measures 7. Click and drag Sales into the box above 8. Be sure that it is typed correctly 9. There should be an open parenthesis ( at the beginning 10. A comma, between the performance group and the sales measure 11. A closed parenthesis at the end ) 12. Once you have the correct format. Click ok
35 Slide You will see the Custom Measure we created in the bottom-left Calculated Measures box 2. Add Accessory Sales to the query by clicking and dragging it into the box on the right. 3. Click the red exclamation point in the top menu to see that the data is pulling correctly. 4. Once you ve collected all needed data, Click ok.
36 Slide 36 Great! We have all of our ingredients. Now let s focus on displaying the data to the viewer (baking our pie) Click on the Insert tab Table Table Wizard
37 Slide Choose the Main Dataset 2. Click Next
38 Slide Click and drag the Locations into the Row groups box 2. Add Accessory Sales into the Values box 3. Click Next > Next > Finish
39 Slide 39 Now we have our Table! Click Run in the top Left to see how this report will look when it s run.
40 Slide 40 Great! We have created a drill-down report. This means that if you click the small [+] symbols it will expand the current view. Click Design in the top-left to go back to Design Mode
