2 Introduction Congratulations on your purchase of the PFC USB Rudder Pedals. The Cirrus Pedals GA Style Made with powder coated solid aluminum base. The mechanism is a reinforced steel tiller bar design. Our rudder pedals are equipped with potentiometers for proportional toe braking. The powder coated base is solid aluminum with a solid steel tiller bar and solid steel pivot arms which are recessed in oilite bushings. It is also equipped with potentiometers for proportional toe braking. The Cirrus Pedals Boeing The Cirrus Pedals Boeing Style has a rugged look with high quality and realistic design. These pedals feature a powder coated aluminum base with high impact steel pedals which are mounted to a solid steel tiller bar design that move the pedals forward and aft just like a real airplane. The tiller bar is then mounted to aluminum roll pins which are recessed in oil-lite bushings. Each rudder pedal set is equipped with an additional potentiometer for proportional toe braking. Your hardware may be very bulky or heavy and may require two people to unpack safely. Please refer to the system manual you received if your pedals is purchased as a part of a complete system. 2

Notes Please refer to the system manual you received if your pedals is purchased as a part of a complete system. The Cirrus pedals do not require any driver. When using Microsoft Windows, all axis must be calibrated in Windows Game Controller prior use. Refer to calibration guide below and page 4. After calibration in Windows, the axis will need to be assigned for their respective function in your simulation software. Such as FS2004, FSX or X-Plane. Refer to your software manual for proper assignment. 3

4 PFC USB Rudder Pedals Windows Calibration Windows 10 and Windows 8 Game Controller Calibration 1. Click on Start on the Windows Taskbar and then select Devices and Printers. 2. In the Devices and Printers windows, Right Click on PFC USB Pedals 2 3. From the menu choose Game Controller Settings 4. From the game controller window double click on PFC USB Pedals Choose the Settings tab. 6. Click on Reset to Default. 7. Click Next on Welcome to Device Calibration 8. Make sure your pedals are even and click on Next. 9. For X Rotation calibration, apply full Left brake and then release, two times. Skip this for helicopter pedals. 10. Once the left brake is released, click on Next. 11. For Y Rotation calibration, apply full Right brake and then release, two times. Skip this for helicopter pedals. 12.Once the right brake is released, click on Next. 13. Calibration is now complete, click on Finish. 14. On the Test tab, click on Apply. 15. The X and Y Rotation should indicate full right bar and Rudder should be at half bar. 16. Click on OK to close the Game Controller Screen window. Windows 7 Game Controller Calibration 1. Click on Start on the Windows Taskbar and then select Devices and Printers. 2. In the Devices and Printers windows, Right Click on PFC USB Pedals 2 3. From the menu choose Game Controller Settings 4. From the game controller window double click on PFC USB Pedals Choose the Settings tab. 6. Click on Reset to Default. 7. Click Next on Welcome to Device Calibration 8. Make sure your pedals are even and click on Next. 9. For X Rotation calibration, apply full Left brake and then release, two times. Skip this for helicopter pedals. 10. Once the left brake is released, click on Next. 11. For Y Rotation calibration, apply full Right brake and then release, two times. Skip this for helicopter pedals. 12.Once the right brake is released, click on Next. 13. Calibration is now complete, click on Finish. 14. On the Test tab, click on Apply. 4

5 Macintosh Installation Requirements Notes OS 10.6 or later One open USB Port (additional ports for each additional device) USB Compatible software. The Cirrus and Professional pedals do not require any driver. PFC USB Rudder Pedals Macintosh Calibration 1. Turn on you Macintosh. 2. Plug in USB cable from pedals. 3. Macintosh will register the pedals automatically. 4. Start your simulation software such as X-Plane. 5. Assign and calibrate the pedals in the simulation software. FS2004 Specific Settings 1. From the main Flight Simulator 2004 splash screen, choose the Settings option, you can find this in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. 2. Once in the settings page, click on the Assignments button, this will take you to the Controls - Assignments screen. 3. On the controls assignments screen click on the Joystick Axes tab. 4. Next click on the drop arrow called Joystick Type. The drop-menu list, choose PFC USB Pedals Next, in the Assignment List in the middle of the page, scroll down until you find the entry on the left, that says Left Brake Axis. 6. Double click on the left brake axis to open the Change Assignment window. 7. Apply Left Brake on the pedals and you should see X-Axis then click on OK. 8. Back in the Assignment List, scroll down until you find entry for Right Brake Axis. 9. Double click on the right brake axis to open the Change Assignment window. 10. Apply Right Brake on the pedals and you should see Y-Axis then click on OK. 11. Back in the Assignment List, scroll down until you find entry for Rudder Axis. 12. Double click on the rudder axis to open the Change Assignment window. 13. Apply full left or right rudder on the pedals and you should see Rudder Axis then click on OK. continued on page 6 5

6 14. Click on OK to go back to the Settings screen. 15. From the main setting screen, click on the Sensitivities icon. 16. Next click on the drop arrow called Joystick Type. The drop-menu list, choose PFC USB Pedals On the screen, select the Advance button. 18. Under Axis Name verify that you have Left Brake axis, Right Brake Axis and Rudder Axis.. Move the Sensitivity slider for the Left and Right Brakes axis to full right. 19. Move the Sensitivity slider for the Rudder axis to Center. 20. Move the Null zone slider for the Left and Right Brakes axis to full left. 21. Move the Null zone slider for the Rudder axis to full left. 22. Once complete with sensitivity and null zone setting, click OK to go back to the main settings screen. 23. The setup of the pedals is now complete. FS2004 Troubleshooting FS2004 shows Differential Brakes all the time Go back to step 15 and adjust and decrease the sensitivity by moving the slider to the left. Flight Simulator X Specific Settings 1. From the main Flight Simulator X splash screen, choose the Settings option, you can find this in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. 2. Once in the settings page, click on the Controls button, this will take you to the Settings - Controls screen. 3. On the setting - controls screen click on the Control Axes tab. 4. Next click on the drop arrow called Controller Type. The drop-menu list, choose PFC USB Pedals Next, in the Assignment List in the middle of the page, scroll down until you find the entry on the left, that says Brake (Left Axis). 6. Double click on the brake left axis to open the Change Assignment window. 7. Apply Left Brake on the pedals and you should see X-Axis then click on OK. 8. Back in the Assignment List, scroll down until you find entry for Brake (Right Axis). 9. Double click on the right brake axis to open the Change Assignment window. 10. Apply Right Brake on the pedals and you should see Y-Axis then click on OK. 11. Back in the Assignment List, scroll down until you find entry for Rudder Axis. 12. Double click on the rudder axis to open the Change Assignment window. 13. Apply full left or right rudder on the pedals and you should see Rudder Axis then click on OK. continued on page 7 6

7 14. Now, click on the Calibration Tab. 15. From the calibration screen, click on the drop arrow called Controller Type. The drop-menu list, choose PFC USB Pedals On the screen, you will see Simple and Advanced buttons, select the Advanced 17. Under Axis Name verify that you have Left Brake axis, Right Brake Axis and Rudder Axis. 18. Move the Sensitivity slider for the Left and Right Brakes axis to full right. 19. Move the Sensitivity slider for the Rudder axis to Center. 20. Move the Null zone slider for the Left and Right Brakes axis to full left. 21. 8 Limited Warranty Precision Flight Controls, Inc. (PFC) warrants, to the original owner, that its products are free from defects in materials and workmanship. PFC will, at its option, either repair or replace any part of its products that prove defective by reason of improper workmanship or materials. Repaired parts or replacement products will be provided by PFC and will be either new or refurbished to be functionally equivalent to new. 12 Month Warranty On: Decals, Knobs, Levers, Finishes, Digital Clock, Power Supply, All Switches, Internal Wiring, Landing Gear Switch/Electronics (not broken by abuse), Internal Encoders and Potentiometers, Digital Controller Interface, Computer & LCD Displays. This warranty does not cover: damage resulting from accident, unreasonable use, neglect, alterations, improper servicing, improper installation, connections with peripherals or other causes not arising out of defects in materials or workmanship. Any service or repair provided outside the scope of this limited warranty shall be at PFC's rates and terms in effect. PFC is not responsible for costs or loss of revenue incurred due to downtime. It also does not include shipping cost to and from our facility Unauthorized Repairs: Modifying, upgrading, or altering any PFC product will void the warranty. The customer will not be compensated for repairs performed themselves. Warranty Service: To obtain warranty repair service, you may return a damaged or defective product, freight-prepaid and insured, to PFC. For all returned products, please follow the required RMA procedures. Advance Replacement (Warranty Items Only): If an advance replacement for items under warranty is requested, the customer is required to provide a credit card to charge the full cost of the replacement item. Defective Items returned for credit must be in original condition and free from any alterations. Defective items not returned to PFC within 10 business days, the customer agrees to pay for the replacement item plus shipping and handling in FULL at the current item price. Customer will obtain a Return Material Authorization form and number PRIOR to shipping the defective to PFC. Failure to do so will result in package being refused and sent back to customer at customer's expense.
