E5 v4.1 Non-Software Lock: Programming Guide Non-Software Version General Information ssentryloc Section: Programming Guide Non-Software The non-software version of the E5 lock is programmed completely using the keypad on the lock itself. In other words, a personal computer cannot be used for programming. If you have purchased a non-software version of the E5 and wish to upgrade to the software version E5, your E5 (except E5RFKSC) can be retrofitted with a replacement printed circuit board converting it to software operation. Although field retrofit is possible, it is not normally recommended. Contact your dealer or distributor for details. E4 / E5 v8.6 Software Locks: The software version of the E4 or E5 can be programmed either manually via the keypad on the E4 / E5 or with a personal computer, DS1977 program ibutton key, software and a Blue-dot USB reader. Most manual program modes and methods used by the non-software E5 are available when manually programming the software version E4 or E5. However, an important consideration is that once you elect to program your E4 / E5 software lock manually instead of using a personal computer you must continue to use that same method. You cannot mix the two programming methods (manually and using software) for a given lock. Should you program your software version E4 / E5 lock manually and later decide to use a personal computer to program the E4 / E5, you will need to completely reinitialize the lock and reprogram the lock from the manufacturer s default state using the personal computer hardware, software and processes. trylocks.co Exit Setting Mode: To exit the setting mode, enter * or wait 10 seconds. Low Battery Warning: After entering a valid ibutton key or keypad user code, the LED in the center of the ibutton reader will flash 5 times. This indicates that the total battery voltage is less than 4.8 volts and the AA batteries need to be replaced. Non-Software E5 Lock: The non-software version of the E5 lock will flash the LED red 5 times very rapidly when the batteries are in need of replacement. cks.co Software Version E5 lock: The software E4/E5 version will flash the LED red 5 times slowly when the batteries are in need of replacement. 5 Non-Software E5 Lock: Unlocking / Locking Indicators Section: Programming Guide Non-Software When in the Storehouse mode, the non-software version of the E5 will light the LED in the center of the ibutton reader green when unlocked with the keypad or ibutton. It will stay green until the lock re-locks, when the LED will flash red twice to indicate the lock has relocked itself. In general, the LED will also flash once every time a key is pressed on the keypad. ssentryloc Software Version E4 / E5 Lock: The software E4 / E5 version will light briefly when unlocking. When relocking, the LED does not light. In general, the LED will also flash once every time a key is pressed on the keypad. LED Blink Mode: For both the non-software version E5 and the software version E4 / E5, the LED in the center of the ibutton reader can be set to flash once every 5 seconds. If the lock is locked, it will flash red, if unlocked it will flash green. This is a useful feature but can also reduce battery life somewhat. (This function is programmable using 'function code #18') E4 ibutton Reader Location: On E4 model locks, the ibutton reader is located just below the keypad on the front of the lock. trylocks.co E5 ibutton Reader Location: On E5 model locks, the ibutton reader is located just above the keypad on the front of the lock. cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 5 of 58 FAX: (630)

ibutton Key Fobs: ssentryloc Section: Programming Guide Non-Software ibuttons and ibutton readers are not magnetic but rather fully electronic. ibuttons are very resistant to water and shock. They are also available in various types and when desired are installed in various colored plastic keyring tags. The color has no particular meaning. Only DS1990 ibuttons and user keypad codes are used as 'User keys' when programming E4 / E5 locks via the keypad. (DS1977 ibuttons are used to program locks only when using PC computer software to program locks.) It is not required to apply great physical pressure with an ibutton on the reader, only that the center portion of an ibutton touches the center of the reader at the same time as the outer portion of the ibutton rests on the outer ring of the reader. This is most easily done by holding the ibutton against the reader slightly off center and at a bit of an angle. Non-Software E5 Lock: Resetting, Reinitializing or Erasing Lock Memory trylocks.co The reset button is located just below the battery holder, next to the cable connector. Press and hold the reset button below the battery holder. The LED in the center of the ibutton reader will light red. After 5 seconds, the lock will beep once. Continue to hold the button down until the lock beeps 3 times rapidly while the LED in the center of the ibutton reader flashes green. Release the reset button immediately. Software Version E5 lock: The reset button is located just below the battery holder, next to the cable connector. Press and hold the reset button below the battery holder. The LED in the center of the ibutton reader will light green. After 5 seconds the lock will beep once. Continue to hold the button down until the LED flashes red slowly. Release the reset button immediately and press the # key while the LED is still flashing. The lock will beep 3 times, indicating the reset and clear has been successful. cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 6 of 58 FAX: (630)

ssentryloc E4 Lock Section: Programming Guide Non-Software The reset button is located just below the battery holder in a recessed hole. Use a narrow object such as a straightened paper clip to press the button in. Lock Manufacturer Default Settings, E4 / E5: These settings apply for a new lock or one that has had a full reset as per the reset procedures above: Default master code: Auto unlock/lock: Disabled Default lock mode: Storehouse mode Default Daylight savings mode: Disabled Construction code: 0#, only applies until first regular user code is programmed. trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 7 of 58 FAX: (630)

Non-Software E5: Programming Mode Section: Programming Guide Non-Software When the # key is the first key pressed, the E5 enters programming mode, a state in which the E5 is expecting the user to enter a set of programming commands. The LED will flash rapidly to show that it has entered programming mode. If a valid set of programming keypad entries are not then entered within 10 seconds, the E5 will beep and drop out of programming mode and return to waiting for a valid user code. ssentryloc Software Version E5: When the # key is first pressed, the E5 enters programming mode, a state in which the E5 is expecting the user to enter a programming command. The LED will flash once and the keypad will briefly light, but there is no other indication that programming mode has been entered. If a valid set of programming keypad entries are not then entered within 10 seconds, the E5 will automatically drop out of programming mode and return to waiting for a valid user code. Master Code: Different Types of Codes The master code is a user changeable keypad code that allows the lock to be put in a programming mode. It cannot be used to open or close the lock. The manufacture s default master code is , which should be changed to a new customer chosen code for security purposes as soon as possible after installing the lock. The master code number chosen cannot be duplicated elsewhere as a regular user key code. User Code: trylocks.co User codes are keypad codes that are assigned by the customer to individual users to lock and unlock the E5 lock. The # key is always used after the regular users enter their code number to let the lock know the entire number has been entered, since the number of digits in a user's code is not fixed. This doesn't apply to ibutton use. Non-Software E5 Lock: The user code can be any number up to 11 digits long providing it is not the same as the master code number that is assigned to the lock. Users are automatically assigned an index number in the order that they are added, beginning at 001 and incrementing by one at every new user (that is 001,002,003,004, etc.). You should keep track of what this index number is for each user because this is required to later delete a user should you wish to do so. cks.co Software Version E5 lock: The user code can be any number up to 12 digits long as long as it is not the same as the master code number that is currently assigned to the lock. Users are automatically assigned an index Wheaton, IL Page 8 of 58 FAX: (630)

Section: Programming Guide Non-Software number in the order that they are added, beginning at 001 and incrementing by one at every new user (that is, 001,002,003,004, etc.). You should keep track of what this index number is for each user, as this is useful but not absolutely required to later delete a user should you wish to do so. (Software version locks have an additional feature not found in the non-software version locks it allows users to be deleted if you know what their user code key is or what their index number is.) Construction / Installer Code: Non-Software E5 Lock: ssentryloc The Construction / Installer code is a manufacturer s default code for use by a lock installer or during the construction phase of a building. The Construction / Installer code is 0 (zero), then the # sign. This allows the installer to easily test locking and unlocking the E5 lock or to allow easy access during construction. This code is automatically deleted when the first regular new user code is programmed into the E5 lock. Software Version E5: The Construction / Installer code is a manufacturer s default code for use by a lock installer or during the construction phase of a building. The Construction / Installer code is 0 (zero), then the # sign. This allows the installer to easily test locking and unlocking the E5 lock or to allow easy access during construction. This code is automatically deleted when the first regular new user code is programmed into the E5 lock. Service Code: Non-Software lock: A total of 10 one-time use keypad service codes are permitted and they are typically used to allow maintenance or vendors a single access. If the E5 is currently locked and a service keypad code is used on the lock, it will unlock. If the lock is already unlocked, the E5 will relock. Once programmed into the E5, these service keypad codes remain unless used or the lock is reset to the original manufacturer s defaults. Once a total of 10 unused service keypad codes are programmed in, the E5 will not allow any additional service keypad code entries until at least one of the existing service keypad codes are removed by using them. Service keypad codes do not have index numbers. Any number of service keypad codes up to 10 can be programmed into the non-software E5 at one time or just one at a time. trylocks.co Software Version E4 / E5: A total of 10 one-time use keypad service codes are permitted and they are typically used to allow maintenance or vendors a single access. If the E4 / E5 is currently locked and a service keypad code is used, the lock will unlock. If the lock is already unlocked, the E4 / E5 will relock. Once programmed into the E4 / E5, these service keypad codes remain unless used or the lock is reset to the original manufacturer s defaults. Once a total of 10 unused service cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 9 of 58 FAX: (630)

Section: Programming Guide Non-Software keypad codes are programmed in, the E4 / E5 will not allow any additional new service keypad code entries until at least one of the existing service keypad codes are removed by using them. Service keypad user codes do not have index numbers. Service keypad codes can only be programmed into the software version E4 / E5 one at a time for a total of 10 times. Non-Software E5 Lock: Index Number ssentryloc Users are automatically assigned an index number in the order that they are added to the E5, beginning at 001 and incrementing by one at every new user (that is, 001,002,003,004, etc.). This index number is required if you later want to delete a user from the lock. The maximum number of users is 299. You should keep track of what this index number is for each user as you enter them. There is no way to obtain the index number from the lock if you should later need it, so it is best to keep track of it while you enter the user codes. The index number is always expressed in 3 digits. Software Version E5: When the software version of the E5 is manually programmed from the keypad on the lock, users are automatically assigned an index number in the order that they are added to the E5, beginning at 001 and incrementing by one at every new user (that is, 001,002,003,004, etc.). Either the index number OR the user access code is required if you later want to delete a user from the lock. The maximum number of users is 299. You should keep track of what this index number is for each user as you enter them. There is no way to obtain the index number from the lock if you should later need it, so it is best to keep track of it while you enter the user codes. The index number is always expresses as 3 digits. Index numbers do not apply to the software version E4 / E5 when programmed with a personal computer, only when manually programmed from the keypad on the E4 / E5. trylocks.co Passage Mode: Non-Software or software E4 / E5 Lock: Different Types of Modes Passage mode allows the lock to remain in the last lock state it was used in. That is, if the lock is locked, it will remain so until a user unlocks it, then it will remain unlocked until a user relocks the lock. This condition will continue as long as the Lock is in a Passage mode. Programmed auto lock or unlock times can be applied while in Passage mode if desired. The effect on the lock state is the same as if a user key had been used to lock or unlock the E4 / E5. Passage mode can be applied, defeated, or removed by changes in mode via customer lock programming such as time schedules and lock out keys to mention a few. (Important note: When manually programmed via the keypad, the lock MUST exit passage mode for at least 1 minute around midnight to allow for the change of day. This limitation does not exist for locks programmed via PC software) cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 10 of 58 FAX: (630)

Storehouse Mode: Non-Software use E4 / E5: Section: Programming Guide Non-Software This is commonly also called a Lock-back mode and is the lock default mode. When in Storehouse mode, a valid unlock command, regardless of if it is from a user key code, ibutton, or a programmed scheduled auto-unlock command, the lock will unlock, then automatically relock itself in 5 seconds. This provides additional security in that no user can forget to re-lock the door. This unlock/auto-re-lock action will continue as long as the E4 / E5 remains in Storehouse mode. (The 5 second time delay between the unlock/auto-relock action is user adjustable on the software version E4 / E5 using 'function code 61' but is not user adjustable on the non-software E5.) ssentryloc Lockout Mode: Time: Date: Non-Software use E4 / E5: Lockout mode freezes the E4 / E5 in whatever the current lock status is. If the lock is currently locked, in lockout mode then it will remain locked regardless of normal program changes or user code key/ibutton use. Similarly, if the lock is currently unlocked, in lockout mode it will remain unlocked regardless of normal program changes or regular user keypad code / ibutton use. This status will continue until lockout mode is disabled. Time and Date Format (For non-software and software E4 / E5) All times are expressed in 24 hr time. Example: (8:30 am = 0830, 12 noon = 1200, 9:40 pm = 2140, etc.) trylocks.co Date is expressed as a 2 digit year followed by 2 digit month, followed by 2 digit day. Examples: = February 21st, 2011 or = September 15th, 2011). Note: Where the month or day of the month is a single digit a leading zero must be entered. Days of the week: When programming an E4 / E5 lock schedule by named day(s) of the week, scheduled days-ofthe-week are expressed in the following manner: Monday = Day 1 Friday = Day 5 Tuesday = Day 2 Saturday = Day 6 cks.co Wednesday = Day 3 Sunday = Day 7 Thursday = Day 4 Wheaton, IL Page 11 of 58 FAX: (630)

Section: Programming Guide Non-Software Programming via the keypad of an E4 / E5 lock requires entering the 'Master Code' number for the lock to allow the lock to enter a programming mode, a 'Function Code' number that lets the lock know what lock function you wish to program, and then entering the data for that function. The '#' key is used between these three groups of information to separate them and to inform the lock when you are finished entering information. This basic format is used for virtually every programming action. ssentryloc It is important when programming the lock that the keypad button presses be done promptly one after another, as hesitating for more than a few seconds between key presses will cause the lock to 'time out' and reject the entries. Should you make a mistake pressing the correct key while entering programming, simply press the * key to cancel, then start again from the beginning of that programming command. Remember also that the lock 'Master code' can never unlock or lock the E4 / E5 it only allows programming of the lock. Get Started Programming A full list of commands and function codes is listed in this guide. However, for most users only a handful of commands will be required to make the lock operate in the commonly used modes. Examples of the most common programming are provided at the end of the guide that you may customize as you wish. That said, much more complex operations are possible if required using the extended 'Function Codes' in this guide. The best way for a user to begin programming the lock is to first take the time to write a list of the desired lock operation, particularly of any schedules required for either automatic lock actions (auto lock / unlock) as well as a list of user schedules (if any) and desired user entry keypad codes and / or ibutton keys. From this you may pick out the required programming command(s) to create the lock action you want. trylocks.co Creating a detailed plan for how you want the lock to operate before attempting lock programming will avoid later frustration and confusion. 19 Lock Schedule Programming Examples Section: Programming Guide Non-Software How to program a basic automatic command for 'passage mode' on a weekly schedule Example: A business wants to schedule the lock to enter passage mode Monday through Friday at 8:30am and return to 'Storehouse mode' at 5:30pm. After 8:30am a valid user can unlock the lock. It will then stay unlocked until 5:30pm unless a valid user re-locks the door. At 5:30pm the lock will automatically re-lock by itself. After 5:30, valid users can still open the lock, however the lock will automatically re-lock itself 5 seconds later to prevent the door from accidentally being left unlocked. (remember, 24 hr time) ssentryloc Enter: #23456#15#12345# # #23456# 15# 12345# # Master Code Function code Mon-Fri Start time End Time If the desire is for the lock to be in 'Passage mode' at all times, ' Passage mode' times should be from 12:01am (0001) to 11:59pm(2359). This is because the lock MUST be in 'Storehouse mode' when the date changes at midnight each night, if only very briefly. Since the default lock mode is 'Storehouse mode', the 2 minute gap in the times for 'Passage mode' around midnight allows this to occur. Practical program to automatically unlock / lock on days at particular times Example: A business wants to have the lock automatically unlock at 8:00am and re-lock at 5:00pm Monday-Friday on a connecting door, without any user intervention. (remember, 24 hr time) trylocks.co Enter: #23456#63#0800# Enter: #23456#64# Enter: #23456#67# Enter: #23456#15#12345# # automatically unlocks door at 8:00 am enables auto-unlock feature enables auto-lock function set passage mode start at 7:59am, ending at 5:00pm Note: The reason for 'Passage mode' to start at 7:59am and 'Auto-unlock' to occur at 8:00am is because the lock must already be in 'Passage mode' before the 'Auto-unlock occurs, otherwise the lock would re-lock itself 5 seconds later. cks.co The lock needs at least 1 minute between command times. It is not required to use an 'Autolock' time command in this one case, as the lock will lock itself without an 'Auto-lock' command any time it leaves 'Passage mode' and enters the default 'Storehouse mode'. (remember, 24 hr time) Enter: #23456#64# Enter: #23456#63#1300# enables auto-unlock feature sets auto-unlock time to 1:00pm trylocks.co Important note: If the desire is for the lock to unlock at 1:00pm and stay unlocked, the lock must be also programmed to be in 'Passage' mode prior to that time, usually at business opening time in the morning. Otherwise the lock would re-lock itself 5 seconds later, because the default lock mode is 'Storehouse mode'. Additional notes for continuous lock 'Passage mode' programming Should you desire that the lock remain in 'Passage mode' at all times, that is not quite possible. However, if the lock is programmed to leave passage mode and go to the default 'Storehouse mode' for a minute or so at midnight each night before going back to 'Passage mode' for the next day, that can be done. This is required because the lock must be in the default 'Storehouse mode' at the change of the day of the week at midnight, if only briefly. This is not the case when E4 / E5 software locks are used with PC computer programming, only when manually programmed with the keypad. cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 20 of 58 FAX: (630)

Important ibutton Keys: Overview: ibuttons are NOT normally magnetic and will not affect credit cards, watches, or pacemakers. They typically do not emit radiation of any kind. Stainless steel ibuttons are normally pressed into colored plastic tags at the factory to make identification and use easier. Key-fob tag colors available are white, yellow, pink, red, orange, blue-green, dark-green, purple, or black. Since all stainless steel ibuttons are identical in size and shape they can be provided in any of the available color key-fob tags by special order. However, there are various default colors for various key types if a particular color isn't specified when ordered from the manufacturer or distributor. ssentryloc If in doubt as to the actual key type, you can identify the ibutton model number by looking on the metal end cap with a magnifying glass. The model number beginning with 'DS-' is imprinted there. Some ibuttons contain special functions such as digital memory or real-time clocks, while others merely identify specific users. The following list contains the most commonly used ibuttons: 1. DS1990 User Key, each key has a digital serial number that cannot be duplicated. Once programmed into lock memory as a valid user, can be used to lock or unlock locks. (Default key-fob colors: red, yellow, black, orange, dark-green, brown) 2. DS1904 or DS1994 Contain an on board real time clock used to reset the lock internal clock. Either one can be generally used interchangeably with the locks and software (Default key-fob color: Blue-Green) 3. DS1977- Program Key. Use to move programming to / from locks (Default key-fob color: Purple) trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 23 of 58 FAX: (630)

Software Setup Eternity 3.7 Software Guide The Eternity PC Software works the same for both Eternity E4, Eternity E5, E5TKSCS, E5TKSBS, Eternity E2, E2TMKP, and EDC700 series door controller systems. (E2TMKP and EDC700 have differences in reset button processes for new lock setup but are otherwise much the same.) ssentryloc Operating System Eternity 3.7 software is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Win7. All software must be installed using Windows administrator account, but all level Windows users can use the program. Failure to install the applications may result in error messages and an incomplete installation. For Vista/Win7 users, you may need to run the application each time as an administrator. Installing 1-Wire USB Driver First 1. Insert installation CD. Note: On most computers, the Autorun program should launch automatically. If it does not, select Start/Run, browse to CD-ROM drive, select the Auto-run file. 2. Select 1-Wire USB Driver Installation, the Setup Wizard will guide you through the steps to install the program. 3. The License Agreement screen displays. 4. Select 'I Agree' and then 'Install' to start installation. 5. Select 'Finish'. The 1-Wire USB Driver Installation is now complete. trylocks.co 6. Plug the 1-Wire USB device into the USB port on your computer 7. Check the time and date on your computer and correct if needed. Note: The time and date in your computer is used to set the clock in the locks, so any errors in the PC time will also be loaded into the locks. Installing the ikeypad Software 1. Select Eternity Software Installation. The Auto installer will guide you through the steps and it is suggested to create the shortcut ikeypad on your desktop. 2. Select 'Next' until the installation finishes. cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 26 of 58 FAX: (630)

You may then enter the new password for that operator. cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 27 of 58 FAX: (630)

Changing the System Facility Code (MANDATORY) The default system facility code is (6 Zeros). It Is MANDATORY to change and remember the facility system code entered when the user is ready to first use this software. This is NOT a user password. It allows the locks to respond only to your particular software, not someone else who might have a different copy of the same software (created for security purposes). Other copies of this program cannot access locks that have been programmed using a different facility code unless the locks have been completely reset to factory new conditions first as a security measure. (Failure to remember what the facility code becomes may make future computer 'backups' of the software not function with the locks.) The PC software facility code can also be later changed via the 'Other' menu, then 'System Configuration' menu. This is STRONGLY DISCOURAGED ONCE THE DEFAULT FACILITY CODE IS CHANGED DURING INITIAL SOFTWARE SETUP AND INITIAL NEW LOCK PROGRAMMING, as this will make the software unable to address locks that were set up using the original facility code. ssentryloc Access Control Management trylocks.co Lock Setup New Lock Set Up Overview: Initialize the lock back to the manufacture default settings. Sets the facility security code and current time and date into the lock. Set the lock clock to enable or disable the Daylight Saving time functions Set the default Lock Mode to 'Classroom' Mode (sometimes also called 'Passage' mode) or 'Storehouse' Mode. Set LED Blinking about once every 10 seconds or off for better battery life. cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 28 of 58 FAX: (630)

Steps to set up a new lock: 1. Connect the USB blue dot receptor to the computer USB port. 2. Log in to the software. 3. Snap the program key (DS1977) onto the USB blue dot receptor and Click 'Lock Management' 4. Click on 'Setup New Lock' from the drop-down menu (see below). Select the default options you want by clicking on the check boxes provided. 5. Select 'Issue Key' from the bottom of the menu and answer 'OK' to any pop-up warnings. 6. Hold the reset button on the lock until there are two beeps and a solid green light; when the LED starts blinking green, release the reset button and immediately press the # key. When the lock stops flashing and beeps 3 times, the lock has been reset to factory defaults. 7. Press the reset button once quickly and release it. The lock will light the LED green and beep twice. 8. While the LED is still lit, touch the program key to the ibutton reader on the lock. There will be two more beeps to indicate that the lock confirmed the information upload from the program key. The lock will now have been initialized and the lock will have recorded its lock identification number on the program key. ssentryloc trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 29 of 58 FAX: (630)

An Alternative way to enter existing locks to the system: Overview Selecting the 'Lock Management' icon on the main menu, then clicking on the 'Lock Setting' from the drop-down menu is an alternative way to add existing locks to the system if you already have initialized them using the same Facility Code at some point and have the lock ID number, but have a need to manually enter them again. We recommend users keep the lock ID on file after the new lock setup so that you can manually input a lock profile into the system if ever needed. Note: You cannot change the user assignments from the 'Lock Setting' screen. User assignments to a given lock are made through the 'User Code Management' screen. ssentryloc trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 31 of 58 FAX: (630)

User Setup Setting User Access codes and/or ibuttons Overview: Add/Edit user information Select 'User Code Management' from the main menu. Then select 'User Settings' from the drop down menu. To add an ibutton / key code user, click Add User button in the key setting menu (or 'Modify' if you wish to change an existing user) For new users, enter the name information and, if desired, the 'Title', 'Department' and 'Address'. To add ibutton user, click 'OK' and snap a user ibutton key into the USB blue dot receptor. Click on the empty field of 'Serial ID', the ibutton key ID will be detected by the system and automatically entered. To add key pad code user, check the 'Key Code User' and click 'OK'. Type in user code under Key Code field. If the either user key type or name already exists in the system, the software will pop up a warning. To enter a 'Complex' user (Requires that the user use BOTH an ibutton AND a keypad code every time for extra security) click on 'Complex User', then 'OK'. ssentryloc For any of the three user types, enter the user profile as follows: trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 33 of 58 FAX: (630)

Enter the specific user information: First name: Input the first name of the key owner. Last name: Input the last name of the key owner. Status: Active or Inactive User (reserve for future use). Title, address: Can be entered as the key owner profile. Note: Not a required data entry. ssentryloc trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 34 of 58 FAX: (630)

Assigning Users to a Single Lock Overview: This menu is used to assign ibutton keys and user codes to one lock. Select lock from lock name list Change Time Shift, Activation / Expiration, or Holiday (Exception) settings to be assigned to the lock Click on the Selected column to assign users you desire for the lock Snap in DS1977 programming key into the USB blue dot receptor Click 'Issue Key' Complete the lock programming by touching the programming key to the target lock reader until you hear a double beep. ssentryloc trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 35 of 58 FAX: (630)

Multiple Lock Assignment Overview: This process is to assign a key list to multiple locks at one time. Up to 8 locks can be assigned to each programming key, with a maximum of 114 keys total. The process is similar to single lock programming, but allows limited programming of multiple locks without returning the DS1977 program key to the USB blue dot receptor between each lock. The limited memory available in the DS1977 key means that you may have to use 'Single Lock' programming to pass the time schedules database tables to the locks if they have been changed. The data tables of all the available 'Time Shift', 'Holiday', 'Activation', and 'Expiration' are only passed to locks during 'Single Lock' programming process. As long as that data has not changed, you may assign these already existing time-group tables to locks and users using the 'Multi-Lock' programming menu as desired. ssentryloc To Use Multi-Lock Programming: trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 36 of 58 FAX: (630)

ssentryloc trylocks.co Take the DS1977 program key and touch it to the reader of each of the target locks. There is no need to return the program key to the PC in between every lock. Hold the key to each lock until the chirping noise stops and the lock beeps twice. The order in which the locks are programmed does not matter. A maximum 114 keys can be assigned (total) at one time using Multi-Lock programming. cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 37 of 58 FAX: (630)

Copy Lock Setting Overview: This is a very useful tool when multiple locks have identical setting such as key list and/or timetable. After enrolling all the locks and users into the system, assign timetables and assign user keys/codes to one lock, then use this lock as model lock. Double click on the field of Select Model Lock, and select the lock from the pop up screen. Check the Selected boxes and issue the program key using the USB blue dot receptor. Complete the process by touching the programming key to each of the selected lock readers and hear the double beep conformation from each lock. ssentryloc Advanced Access Control Management Time Schedule Settings trylocks.co Time shift, activation/expiration, and exception date settings can be applied by using the 'Time Shift', 'Holiday Schedule', and the 'Activation / Expiration' menus to set the time periods you want, then by selecting the desired timing groups during later key assignments to locks with 'Single Lock Programming' or 'Multi-Lock Programming'. Time Shift Setting This function is used to set the restricted time period(s) for user keys, which prevents unauthorized or unwanted personnel from entering the facility during off-hours. The beginning time and ending time of each days period can be added based on user group s permission. There are 16 Time Shift Groups in total and up to 7 settings in each group. This can allow for different schedules for each day if you wish. The first group is 'No Limit'. This is a default setting for each new key and this group cannot be modified. Other groups can be modified and assigned if the 'No Limit' group is not what is desired. cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 38 of 58 FAX: (630)

ssentryloc To add or modify each time period in a time group: Select the group number you want from the left side window, then click on Add, Modify, or Delete button to edit the settings in the right side window. Note: Group 1, 'No Limit' is the default and cannot itself be modified. Here is the example for Time Shift Group 2: A company wants to set the Group 2 Shift to have access from Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, and no access allowed on Saturday and Sunday. Select 'Add', then set the beginning, end, and day of week you desire. Select 'Save' after each of the groups you are entering. trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 39 of 58 FAX: (630)

Lock Time Scheduled Operation Setting Overview: This function is used to set the lock automatically unlocked, locked, storehouse mode, or passage (also called classroom) mode at the desired time. The schedules of various automatic operations of the lock(s) are entered into groups in the 'Lock Schedule' menu, found by clicking on the 'Lock Management' menu icon and selecting 'Lock Schedule'. ssentryloc There are 16 Timed Operation Groups in total and up to 16 settings in each group. The first setting by default is No Limit Classroom Mode. In other words, the lock will stay in Classroom (Passage) mode all the time. The second setting by default is No Limit Storehouse Mode. In other words, the lock will, at all times, re-lock automatically shortly after the user unlocks the lock). Any particular lock may only have one group schedule assigned to it at a time, but conversely one group can be assigned to as many locks as you may desire. The time tables for lock schedules are set here, but not assigned to specific locks in this menu. trylocks.co There are 4 basic types of lock actions you can schedule by day and time, and by lock: Storehouse Mode: In this mode, the lock will lock back in a few seconds ( seconds). Classroom (Passage) Mode: In this mode, the lock does not lock back. The use of a valid ibutton or code simply makes the lock go from unlocked to locked or locked to unlocked. Lock Mode: In this mode, the lock will automatically lock at the setting time. Unlock Mode: In this mode, the lock will automatically unlock at the setting time. cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 42 of 58 FAX: (630)

ssentryloc trylocks.co Repeat this process until the entire schedule you want is listed for that Lock Status ID has been entered, then select the 'Quit' icon from the top of the screen. Assigning a particular Status schedule group to a particular lock Overview: The automatically timed operation settings are applied to individual locks via the 'Lock Management' 'Lock Setting' menu by first selecting the lock you wish to apply the schedule group to, using the 'Modify' icon at the top of the menu, then changing the 'Lock Status' section to match the schedule you want. cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 43 of 58 FAX: (630)

ssentryloc trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 44 of 58 FAX: (630)

Activation / Expiration Date Setting Overview: This function is used to set the activation date and expiration date of valid keys. The first group is a default setting where no time limit is applied to the user. The rest of groups can be set to an activation date and expiration date by the operator of the software. Only one group can be applied to a particular user on a particular lock. However, different locks can have different groups applied to that same user. In other words, you can control the access of a user to a particular door without restricting that same user from access to a different door. ssentryloc trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 45 of 58 FAX: (630)

Holiday / Exception Date Setting Overview: This function is used to set or restrict access during periods such as holidays, facility shutdowns, and vacation periods. The first group set as 'No Limit' default setting. The holidays can be set as a single day or multiple days. The selected user ibutton keys or codes will be restricted from access for all of the exception dates entered in this list. ssentryloc trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 47 of 58 FAX: (630)

ssentryloc Lock Management trylocks.co Overview: The lock management utilities help you manage both the locks themselves and the records the locks keep. It primarily allows you to create and issue DS1977 program keys that can, among other things, set lock details such as time and date, lock-back delay for storehouse mode, special temporary user keys and keypad codes, and get information FROM locks to compare to the data cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 48 of 58 FAX: (630)

in this program's database. Set Parameter Key Overview: This process can set many lock parameters, such as LED 'Blink', 'Lock Back Delay Time', Set 'PC Time' (adjust lock time to a user set future time), and enable Daylight Saving time modes. To set the lock parameters: Select the function you want to change, snap the DS1977 program key into the USB blue dot receptor, then press the Issue Key button. Take the DS1977 program key to the lock and touch it to the lock reader until it beeps twice to set the parameters into the lock. (Use 'Set Time' key menu for 'normal' lock time setting) The 'PC Time' function is sometimes used to set the time of a lock when a DS1904/1994 time set key is not available. It allows the user to program a locks' clock to a future time or date using only the regular DS1977 program key. In doing so, it is possible to allow for the natural delays in physically taking the program key to the lock you desire to set the time on. If the lock is close by the PC, you can just click on the check box and the PC's clock current time and date will be used. ssentryloc trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 49 of 58 FAX: (630)

Set Time Key Overview: This process uses a DS1977 program key and a DS1904 (or DS1994) ibutton key to set the real time and date of the lock. Follow the on screen instructions to first 'Issue' the DS1977 key to 'allow' the lock to accept a time setting, then 'Issue' the DS1904 (or 1994) time set key. Apply first the DS1977 program key to each lock, then apply the DS1904 (or 1994 time) time set key to each lock. The DS1904/1994 key has a real-time clock inside that continues to run, so that even if there is delay at getting to a lock the time will still be right when applied to the lock. ssentryloc trylocks.co Tip: Other than DS1904/1994 real time key, just the DS1977 program key can also set the time of the lock. This is just a 'snap-shot' of the time however. Using just the program key set will cause some time errors since programming the key and programming the lock will take some time, particularly if there is a long distance between the computer and the lock. We recommend using cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 50 of 58 FAX: (630)

the DS 1904/1994 real time key if the delay in applying the key to the lock is excessive. Get Information Key Get Information Key is a useful tool to retrieve the existing information from a lock, such as: user key list, lock time, lock mode, lock / user group schedules, lock ID, or battery voltage. To get the lock information, snap the DS1977 program key into the USB blue dot receptor, click the Issue Key button, and then press the program key to the lock itself. The lock will make a series of chirping sounds, and when it is finished it will beep twice. Remove the program key and snap it into the USB blue dot receptor. Press the Read Key button to read the information. Using the tabs along the top of the information screen, you can compare the information inside the lock to the information in the PC program. ssentryloc trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 51 of 58 FAX: (630)

Lockout Key Overview: Lockout forbids all assigned keys/codes from operating the lock. Apply any Lockout key to put the lock in Lockout Mode, and apply again to release the Lockout Mode. To apply the key, snap the program key into the USB blue dot receptor, select open door or close door, press the Issue Key button, and then press the program key to the lock to set the Lockout Mode. There are two types of Lockout Modes. ssentryloc trylocks.co One-Off key/one-off Code Overview: These are two types of One Time User: one time service key using the DS-1977 programming key or keypad codes (up to 10) One-Off Key Step1: Select locks from Lock List. 53 ssentryloc One-Off Code Enter up to 10 'One-Off ' codes in the list, then use the DS1977 programming key to issue programming and assign the codes to each lock. To set the codes, snap the program key into the USB blue dot receptor, press the 'Issue Key' button, and then press the program key to the lock reader until the lock beeps twice to set the codes. You may then use the keypad code(s) to open a lock(s) a single time. Enter the 'One-Off' one-time keypad codes you wish, then click on 'Save'. Click on the 'Issue Key' to apply the changes to the DS1977 program key. Press the program key to each lock you want to have these 'One- Off' keypad codes trylocks.co cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 53 of 58 FAX: (630)

Click 'Clear' to clear the entire contents of the PC audit history database only. trylocks.co Note: Using the 'Clear' function only clears the PC database Audit History records, not lock memory of audit trails. There is NO facility in this software to clear audit trail information from locks themselves except by completely re-initializing a lock with the reset button and performing a new lock setup. Locks themselves can generally hold about 3200 entries in memory per lock, after which the oldest entries are automatically deleted inside the lock to make room for new entries. This is handled internally to the lock itself and not by the PC software. cks.co Wheaton, IL Page 56 of 58 FAX: (630)
