11 4 4.1 Databases idb and cdb A new database standard was introduced with COMOS It is called "industrial DataBase" or idb for short and replaces the old database as standard in the COMOS delivery state as of The old database called "classic DataBase" or cdb for short is no longer included in the scope of delivery as of COMOS Software Features All new software functionality for COMOS version 10.2 and other software deliveries are implemented based on idb. A service pack will be provided to support existing cdb installations. This will make it possible to subsequently implement special sections of COMOS 10.2 V in the cdb. Current helps and product support for idb Due to the database replacement, COMOS as of version 10.1 uses idb in its default configuration. This means all help functions are described assuming that you are using an idb. "What's new" also looks at new developments based on the idb database. Helps and product support for cdb cdb is no longer supported in the standard scope of delivery as of COMOS The helps for COMOS using the cdb were frozen as of version If you continue to use COMOS with a cdb, we recommend that you use the help files included in your initial installation because the current help files are based on idb and describe COMOS deviating from your system. 30 4.4 Administration: Merging objects in the cdb "OPC" tab idb: Category > Subcategory >> Group: Option Automation > OPC >> OPC settings "Workflows" tab idb: Category > Subcategory >> Group: Option General settings > Standard >> Workflows 4.4 Administration: Merging objects in the cdb New standard for "Merge" The new standard for the "Merge" technology specifies that you are required to work with the "MergeMode" tab for assemblies that are copied in. When assemblies are copied in, the Merge method is called automatically. All new objects are evaluated to determine whether they have the "MergeMode" tab and, if so, whether the "MergeOnTemplateCreate" attribute has been assigned the value "1". If so, a search is conducted for the partner that is to be merged with the new object. With subobjects, the search is first carried out through the MatchKey. If this is not successful, a search is carried out for an object with an identical name. If a partner for merging is found, the Merge method is called at the existing object. The new, copied-in object is handed over as slave and the value 256 is used for the mergemode parameter. To introduce a different behavior, specify it in the "MergeMode" tabs of the assembly. When the "MergeMode" tab does not exist, the attributes are not merged but copied. This may result in duplicate tabs. The following applies to recursive merging: If there are further child objects below an object, these are also merged. My Documentation Manager allows you to edit the entire customer documentation, reorganize it and export it into a variety of formats if needed. You can assemble documentation corresponding exactly to your system or configuration from the documents that are available. The notification feature informs you by when a document in your collection has changed.
