1 Importing in CRA Wiz is completed through a wizard that takes you step by step through the process. Below is a description of those steps and what each screen means for importing. Select Type of Importing This screen allows you to choose a New Format or Saved Format. The FFIEC Standard import formats including HMDA.dat and Micro.dat files can be selected using the Saved Format. Also, any import formats that you have created in CRA Wiz in the past that have been saved are available here. If you are importing a file other than a HMDA.dat or Micro.dat and you have never imported this type of data before, you should choose New Format. Saved Format: There are a few import formats in CRA Wiz that are already created and prepared for users. Those include the standard FFIEC import formats for HMDA & CRA (Micro Data.) You can access these formats by choosing Saved Format or any formats you have saved within the Wiz system Page 1 of 7

2 Source File Selection In this area of the import wizard, you can select the file that you are attempting to import. Note: You will need to save the file that you are importing to a writable drive, for example a folder on your C:\ drive or your My Documents Folder. Source Data Type: Here you choose what data type that you are importing. Text: This includes.dat files,.txt files,.csv and.del Excel: When selecting an excel file, you will also need to choose the sheet that you are importing. To do this, use the drop down for Source Table. Source Folder: The source Folder will be where the file is located on your hard drive. To locate the file, click on the ellipses button to the right of Source Folder. The Source File will automatically populate Page 2 of 7

3 Source File Format Selection When you choose a text file, you will need to determine if it is a delimited or fixed length file. Other selections: File Type: ANSI (this is the standard, and only choice) Row Delimiter: Carriage Return or None Text Qualifier: Double Quote ( ) or Single Quote ( ) Use this if there are quotation marks around text data like Names, Addresses or other information. First Row Has Column Names: The first row of the file is a header file and has the names of the fields. Skip Rows: If the first few rows do not have data in them, you can choose to skip those rows in the import Page 3 of 7

6 Wiz Format Selection screen Import: Target: Codes: Source: Type: Nullable: Precision: Size: Scale: Data Preview: Displays a checkmark next to the fields that have a matching data source. Displays the name of the column, as it will appear in your CRA Wiz file. Displays the codes assigned to each record. Displays a list of fields that are in your source file. Displays if the target field is character, numeric, timestamp, integer, or varchar. Displays a check mark next to target fields that allow blank as a value. Displays the length of each target field. Displays the decimal value of the target field. Sets the number of values after the decimal point you would like to display. Displays a preview of the data, as it will appear after Wiz imports the loan file Page 6 of 7

7 List of field descriptions for the Wiz Format Selection screen: 1. Click on the Auto-map Remaining Source Columns link. (Result) The software matches all of the columns in your source file to columns within CRA Wiz. Note: CRA Wiz will only match columns automatically if the source column name matches the CRA Wiz target column name. 2. If all source columns were not auto mapped, the source column name does not match the target column name, click on the Source drop down. (Result) The software displays the available source file field names. 3. Select the appropriate source column name. (Result) The software fills-in the Source field with the name selected. *Tip: If a field name is not available, you may use open double quote-closed double quote ( ) in the Expression builder Page 7 of 7
