3 Reuse/Import Course Content Preserving all the hard work & effort you ve put into each course at the end of the semester so you could reuse it next time would be wonderful wouldn t it? Bb offers the ability for instructors to Export their course shells so the data can be reused in future semesters. Once the data has been exported & saved, instructors can import the data back into an empty course shell in future semesters. This process saves a lot of time & effort! START POINT: To create or post any information, you must be in a course shell with Edit Mode ON. STEP 1: Click on Packages & Utilities > Import Package/View Logs in the control panel menu to the left of the screen. STEP 2: Click the Import Package button. STEP 3: Make sure you are working in the course you wish to load the content. It is listed as the Destination Course. Click Choose File & locate the ZIP file that was created from an earlier Export or Archive. 3
4 STEP 4: Select the course areas that you d like to reuse by placing a check mark in each of the boxes. You are free to choose as many or as few as you d like. STEP 5: Click Submit. STEP 6: The next screen returns you to the Import Package/View Logs main screen, but you ll see a green ribbon above the menus. You will receive an once the export file is ready for download. You do not need to do anything with this file. STEP 8: (NEW PROCESS WITH Bb 9.1) Next you will need to link the attached files to your course. In the Packages & Utilities menu, click the Move Files to Course Files. This will add any of your attached files to the Course Files area so that they can be linked with the appropriate items in Bb. This is a new step with Bb 9.1 & is mandatory for your data to be available as it was the last time you used it. 4
5 STEP 9: You can now enter the various content areas & view the imported data. NOTE: Remember to change any adaptive release dates or due dates that may be set for the last time the course data was used. 5
