When using DDNS domain name to access NVR, user shall confirm that the port can be normally connected to current IP on the public network and the settings for server address/host name/user/password/setting should be consistent with NVR local setting. DS C 28

29 You can apply a DDNS Account different from URMETDDNS for free at the web or or DDNS Account for payment at the web You can register on DDNS Service website and get a domain name, user name, and password. Server: select DDNS provider Host name: input the host domain name you have registered at dynamic domain name system, such as: username.changeip.com; User Name: Input a user name registered before applying for a domain name; Password: Input a password you set when registering a user name. Click [Apply] button and restart the NVR; and then enter the domain name (such as: username.no-ip.com:8080) to visit your remote NVR. Note: In the future the DDDNS Accounts creation could switch to payment service URMET DDNS ACCOUNT SETUP It is possible to reach the NVR on the Internet (with or without DDNS) only if the Internet service supplier assigns a public IP address (static or dynamic) to the router. It is therefore advisable to check this crucial detail with your Internet provider beforehand. 1. NVR network parameter setup The URMET NVR network configuration is DHCP mode by default (automatic IP address allocation): a) If the network to which NVR is connected supports DHCP, simply display the parameters that the NVR acquires automatically from the network in Menu Network. Wait for ten seconds or so for the parameters to be allocated and appear automatically in the menu: IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS (see Netowork Section). Press APPLY to save the changes. b) The NVR parameters must be allocated manually if the network does not support DHCP. Select Type = Static on the Menu Network and fill in the following fields: IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS. Press APPLY to save the changes. IMPORTANT NOTE: The DNS fields must be filled in correctly for correct operation of the DDNS system. 2. Port setup At this point the external doors of the router must be forwarded to the NVR. The function is usually called Portforwarding or Virtual Server in the router configuration menu. The ports set on the router must correspond to those of the NVR. a) Set different values on the NVR if the default ports of the NVR (80, 9000, 18600) are already in use in the port-forwarding table of the router. b) Set the ports on the NVR and port-forward of the same ports to the router. There are two different ways to do this: Automatic mode: If the UPnP function is supported and enabled on the router, simply enable the function also on the NVR on the bottom of the Menu Network page (see Network Section). Manual mode: if the UPnP function cannot be used, manually set port-forwarding on the portforwarding (or virtual server) table of the router. IMPORTANT NOTE: The firewall of some routers could block forwarding of the ports set on port-forwarding tables. Carefully check the firewall settings of your router too. DS C 29

30 3. Urmet DDNS Setup Select the DDNS submenu in the NVR network menu. A page like the following will appear: IMPORTANT NOTE: Before to get Urmet DDNS ID it is mandatory to enable the user and password (refer to Users Section). Check that the DDNS function is enabled and that the URMETDDNS server is selected. Click on the Get button and wait for ten seconds or so for the NVR ID to be generated. This is needed for remote access via the URMET web portal (see below). Take note of the ID of your NVR provided by the URMETDDNS server. IMPORTANT NOTE: A DDNS server other than URMETDDNS can be used. Select from the available options in the list. See the instructions on the user manual of the device and those of the DDNS quick guide ( DDNS Configuration Guide it_en ) which can be downloaded from the Urmet website for more information. At this point, save changes by clicking on [Apply], quit the OSD menu of the NVR and restart the device at the prompt. Wait for the device to reboot RTSP 1. Enable the Username and Password about DVR. 2. Select Network Menu and make sure that DHCP Mode is set. 3. From OSD DVR Menu in Network -> RTSP item enable the RTSP function and enable Verify function. DS C 30

31 IMPORTANT NOTE: About RTSP UserName and RTSP Password item, please insert the same Username and Password about DVR in point Save the changes clicking Apply and reboot the DVR. 5. Launch VLC Player from Media -> Open Network Stream and digit the following String: rtsp://indirizzo IP:RTSP Port/live/chA_B_C where: RTSP Port is 554 (default value) A means ch1(00), ch2(01) and so on B means the Stream Type. Main stream (00), Sub stream (01) C means audio + video stream (00), only video stream (01) or only audio stream (02) Example: rtsp:// :554/live/ch00_00_01 6. After that open VLC and insert Username and Password about DVR SWITCH It is possible to set the NVR as switch mode. If IP Camera is set in different net, this option allows to connect them, if IP Address, SubNet Mask and Gateway are set. IMPORTANT NOTE: It is possible to connect through network cable from switch PoE port to one of 8/16 PoE ports of NVR Models. It is possible to connect up to 16 PoE IP cameras for Ref. 1093/916HP and up to 32 PoE IP Cameras for Ref. 1093/932HP. DS C 31

Sub Stream Resolutions: VGA, CIF and QVGA on 1/4/8/16/32 IP Channels. IMPORTANT NOTES All Resolutions above are shown in Network -> Main/Sub Stream. They depend from IP Camera Model. Bandwidth and HDD Duration can be highly variable depending on the scene recorded. The following tables show the approximate time needed to fill the HDD when the 1/4/8/16CH NVR records video only (i.e. no Audio) at the resolution and frame rate selected. In order to estimate the HDD duration (before being overwritten) such as 2/3/7/9/15 channels, user can divide the 1 channel table s values (hours or days) by the actual number of channels that are being recorded. The larger the number of channels recorded, the smaller the time interval before the HDD starts being overwritten. 1 Record Channel in 1080P ( ) Resolution Variables to be set Bitrate (in Kbps) Frame rate (in fps) (hours) Results (in days) ,39 29, ,07 35, ,09 43,96 8 Record Channels in 1080P ( ) Resolution Variables to be set Bitrate (in Kbps) Frame rate (in fps) (hours) Results (in days) ,92 3, ,51 4, ,89 5,50 32 Record Channels in 1080P ( ) Resolution Variables to be set Bitrate (in Kbps) Frame rate (in fps) (hours) Results (in days) ,98 0, ,38 1, ,97 1,37 4 Record Channels in 960P ( ) Resolution Variables to be set Bitrate (in Kbps) Frame rate (in fps) (hours) Results (in days) ,02 8, ,77 10, ,70 14,65 16 Record Channels in 960P ( ) Resolution Variables to be set Bitrate (in Kbps) Frame rate (in fps) (hours) Results (in days) ,75 2, ,94 2, ,92 3,66 4 Record Channels in 1080P ( ) Resolution Variables to be set Bitrate (in Kbps) Frame rate (in fps) (hours) Results (in days) ,85 7, ,02 8, ,77 10,99 16 Record Channels in 1080P ( ) Resolution Variables to be set Bitrate (in Kbps) Frame rate (in fps) (hours) Results (in days) ,96 1, ,75 2, ,94 2,75 1 Record Channel in 960P (1280x960) Resolution Variables to be set Bitrate (in Kbps) Frame rate (in fps) (hours) Results (in days) ,07 35, ,09 43, ,78 58,62 8 Record Channels in 960P ( ) Resolution Variables to be set Bitrate (in Kbps) Frame rate (in fps) (hours) Results (in days) ,51 4, ,89 5, ,85 7,33 32 Record Channels in 960P ( ) Resolution Variables to be set Bitrate (in Kbps) Frame rate (in fps) (hours) Results (in days) ,38 1, ,97 1, ,96 1,83 DS C 71
