Structure of this Owner's Manual (explanations) This Owner's Manual has been systematically designed to make it easy for you to search for and obtain the information you require. At the beginning of this manual you will find a table of contents, where all the topics are arranged sequentially. Direction indications All direction indications such as left, right, front, rear, relate to the direction of travel of the vehicle. Explanation of symbols Denotes the end of a section. Denotes the continuation of a section on the next page. Denotes a registered trademark. s WARNING The most important notes are marked with WARNING. These WARNING notes draw your attention to a serious risk of accident or injury. CAUTION A CAUTION note alerts you to the possibility of damage to your vehicle (e.g. damage to the gearbox), or points out general risks of an accident. A normal draws your attention to important information about the operation of your vehicle.

General information Important information Introductory information This Owner's Manual describes all possible equipment variants without identifying them as special equipment, model variants or market-driven equipment. Consequently, this vehicle does not need to contain all of the equipment components described in these operating instructions. The scope of equipment for your vehicle is described in the sales documentation you were given when purchasing the car. For more information, contact your local ŠKODA retailer. The illustrations in this manual can differ in minor details from your vehicle; they are only intended for general information. Device operation The device should only be used when traffic conditions permit safe use. WARNING Concentrate fully at all times on your driving! As the driver, you are fully responsible for the operation of your vehicle. Only use the device in a way that ensures that you are in full control of your vehicle in every traffic situation - there is a risk of accident! Adjust the volume to ensure that acoustic signals from outside the vehicle, e.g. sirens from vehicles to give way to, such as the police, ambulance and fire brigade, can be heard at all times. High volumes can cause hearing damage! Care of the Display CAUTION Do not use solvents such as benzine or turpentine, which may damage the display surface. Treat the display with care, as finger pressure or contact with sharp objects may cause dents and scratches on the surface. The display can be cleaned with a soft cloth and alcohol, if necessary. Anti-theft protection Anti-theft coding Your radio is equipped with a convenience coding. If the radio is being operated for the first time, the safety code is not only stored in the radio but also in the vehicle. After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, you must switch on the ignition first and only then the radio. If you want to install the radio in another vehicle, the safety code will need to be entered. In this case you will have to call on a specialist ŠKODA garage. As the unit only functions after entering the safety code, this practically excludes its use after a theft - a contribution to increased anti-theft safety. The code is stored in the instrument cluster. This ensures that it is automatically decoded (convenience coding). Manual input of the code is normally not necessary. Enter code Switch on the radio with the ignition turned on. SAFE is displayed and then Use the selection buttons 1-4 to enter the safety code. 2 General information

Confirm the safety code by pressing the 6 function button. If an incorrectly entered code is confirmed, the procedure can be repeated once again. If the code number is entered incorrectly for the second time, the unit will be blocked for approx. one hour. It is possible to enter the safety code again after one hour has expired if both the device and the ignition have stayed turned on during that time. The cycle - two attempts, blocked for an hour - will continue to apply. Select individual menu functions by pressing the rocker switch MENU or by pressing the rocker switches,. Use the adjustment knob 1 to select the desired setting. REG AUTO / REG OFF Certain programs of the broadcasting companies are divided into regional programs at specific times. That is why in individual regions the regional programs of a station can broadcast different contents. The unit attempts initially to set only alternative frequencies for the selected station. If the quality is however so low, that there is a risk of a program loss, the unit also accepts related frequencies. When opting for REG AUTO, the change to a regionally- related station can only be performed when there is a risk of losing the station. When selecting REG OFF, the receiver can access the regionally- related stations to an unlimited extent. GALA Your radio increases automatically its volume with the increasing vehicle speed. A higher setting value results in a stronger volume increase. LOUD In case of low volume level, the function reinforces the range of bass and treble frequencies. BEEP Switching on or off the tone signal when storing the radio stations. ON VOL Your radio stores the last volume set before switching off. If the value is higher, the volume is reduced to the value of the parameter ON VOL after switching on the radio again. PHONE If your vehicle is equipped with a hands-free system, the mono-phone play function of the mobile phone calls is carried out via the loudspeakers of the vehicle. PDC AT If your vehicle is equipped with a parking aid, the volume is automatically decreased to a pre-defined value, when the parking aid is active. PDC AT0 - no volume restriction; PDC AT1 - restricts the volume to a middle level; PDC AT2 - restricts the volume to a low level; PDC AT3 - Mute. AUX Setting of the input sensitivity AUX LEV: AUX LEV 1 - high level, used in particular for notebooks; AUX LEV 2 - middle level, used for cassettes or CD player; AUX LEV 3 - low level, used for MP3 player; Each setting change is stored by changing to another menu point. 4 General information

Changing between the audio sources Press the CD button to select the audio source: CD (internal CD drive), EXT (CD changer, if it is connected to the radio) or AUX. WARNING The CD-player is a laser product. On the manufacturing date, this unit was classified as a class 1 laser product in accordance with the national/international standards DIN EN : 2008/05 and DHHS Rules 21 CFR, Subchapter J. The laser used in this class 1 laser product is so weak that there is no risk of danger when operated correctly. This product is designed such that the laser is restricted to the inside of the unit. However, the installed laser could be classified in a higher class were the housing to be removed. For this reason, never remove the housing of the unit. CAUTION Never insert CDs with the designation into the internal drive. Do not insert in drives without a drawer or use Eco Discs. After pressing the button there is a time delay of a few seconds before the CD is ejected. During this time the lock in front of the CD slot is open. Be sure to wait until the CD has been fully ejected before you try to insert a new CD. Otherwise you can damage the drive inside the unit. A dirty, mechanically damaged, unreadable or incorrectly inserted CD can cause playback problems. For this reason, the disc may not be playable or may cause the CD to jump. Check the CD and insert it properly into the unit. Should problems persist, try using another CD and visit a ŠKODA specialist garage, if necessary. If the inside temperature of the unit is too high, no CDs will be accepted. The unit switches into the last active operating mode. Never use liquids such as gasoline, paint thinner or record cleaner to clean the surface of the CD - this may cause damage. Never expose the CD to direct sun light! Only write on the CD with appropriate writing tools. Do not affix anything to the CD! Uneven road surfaces and strong vibrations may cause the CD to jump. In cold weather or after rain showers, moisture (condensate) may deposit in the unit. This can effect the CD jump or impair the play function. In that case, wait until the moisture has dissipated. If a CD is dirty, never clean it in a circular motion, but instead work from the inside out. Use a soft, lint-free cloth. For heavy stains, we recommend that you clean the CD with a commercially available CD cleaner and allow it to dry. It is possible that CDs protected by copyright and home-made CD-R and CD-RW will not be played back at all or only in certain circumstances. 6 CD player

Please also note the additional information for MP3 mode. The national copyright laws that apply in your country must be observed. The CD-player does not contain parts that need to be serviced or repaired. In the case of a defective CD player, visit a ŠKODA specialist garage. If the ejected CD is not taken out, it will be retracted again for safety reasons. If the radio is functioning in the TP mode before changing to the CD mode, the play function of the CD is interrupted during the traffic reports and the unit switches over to the radio mode. After the traffic reports have ended, the unit switches back once again to the CD mode. Function SCAN Consecutive play back of each title for the first 10 seconds. 10 External sources Using the system Advice for dealing with external sources An external source connected to the AUX-IN input can be played in the car through the radio speakers. External audio sources cannot be controlled via the radio. When operating the radio, a different audio source can be selected at any time. As long as the external audio source is not switched off, it always remains active in the background. See the owner's manual of the specific manufacturer for operating the external audio source. Conditions for a successful connection To connect external audio sources via the AUX-IN input a 3,5 mm standard jack plug is needed. If the external audio source does not have this jack plug, you must use an adapter. Only USB devices with the specification 2.0 can be connected. The version of the file allocation table FAT (File Allocation Table) of the connected device must be FAT16 ( <2 GB) or FAT32 (> 2 GB). In order to replay from a unit with a hard disk (HDD) which includes a large data volume, it can lead to a time delay when reading in the overview of the music data. In order to replay from a unit, which includes a complicated folder structure, it can lead to a time delay when reading in the overview of the music data. The folder structure in the connected unit must not exceed a depth of 8 levels. One folder must not contain more than 1000 data. A USB extension cable or USB distributor (HUB) must not be used to connect the unit. Adapter We recommend that you purchase an adapter for connecting the USB devices, the devices with Mini USB output or an ipod, at an authorised ŠKODA Service Partner. Adjust the play function volume of the external audio source The play function volume of the external audio source can be changed via the volume control on the radio. Depending on the connected audio source, the output volume on the external audio source can be changed. You can also change the input sensitivity of the external audio source,» page 4, AUX, in order to adapt the play volume of the external audio source to that of the other audio sources or to avoid distortions. WARNING Never place external sources on the console panel. They could be thrown into the passenger compartment during sudden driving manoeuvres, thereby injuring the occupants. Never place external sources close to the airbags. These could be thrown into the passenger compartment when the airbags are deployed, injuring the occupants. Never hold external sources in your hand or on your knees while driving. They could be thrown into the passenger compartment during sudden driving manoeuvres, thereby injuring the occupants. Always route the connection cable for the external source such that it does not restrict you when driving. CAUTION The AUX-IN input must only be used for audio sources! See the owner's manual of the specific manufacturer for instructions on operating the external source. If an external audio source is connected via AUX-IN, which is equipped with an adapter for external power supply, it can occur that the audio signal is interrupted. This depends on the quality of the adapter which is used. The loudspeakers in the vehicle are matched to a power output of the radio of 4x20 W. For the equipment sound system, the loudspeakers are matched to a power output of the amplifier of 4x40 W + 6x20 W. AUX input The input for external audio sources AUX-IN is located below the armrest of the front seats and is marked with the logo. 8 External sources

The AUX IN jack is closed by pressing CD activated. Subsequent pressing of CD is selected as the source of the external AUX-IN input. The play function starts automatically after connecting the source. External audio sources connected to the AUX-IN input cannot be operated from your radio. External sources 9
