When using HF3 on a SIMOTION CPU, the SCOUT engineering software should also be updated to HF4. Hotfix 1 is only relevant for SCOUT standalone (change of the DVD content in the delivered version). Firmware Installation of SIMOTION V4.1 SP2 HF3 2.1 SIMOTION C230-2, C240, C240 PN With Version V4.1 SP2 HF3 (V ), a new firmware is available for SIMOTION C which is the first to also support the SIMOTION C240 PN. Update from V4.1 SP2 to V4.1 SP2 HF3 The Device Update Tool can be used for the update from V4.1 SP2 to V4.1 SP2 HF3. Details on the use of the update tool can be found in Chapter 4. The following installation notes are then not relevant for this. Installation notes The individual firmware versions for SIMOTION C are available on the SIMOTION SCOUT V4.1 SP2 + HF4 DVD as a ZIP archive at "Firmware\3_C2xx" and are also available at the following link for download: Firmware V4.1 SP2 HF3 is included as ZIP archive for "C230-2" or "C240 / C240 PN". Proceed in the same way as for a software update. Requirements: Windows PC Card reader for MMC Firmware as ZIP archive for "C230-2" or "C240 / C240 PN" Note: The C240 and the C240 PN (6AU1240-1AB00-0AA0) use the same firmware. The C240 PN will be released for the first time with V4.1 SP2 HF3. The firmware contains the PROFINET functionality in accordance with V2.2. The update procedure is described in detail in an FAQ of the Utilities & Applications (scope of delivery of SCOUT V4.1 SP2 / DVD2 - CD_14). You start the navigation by opening "index.htm" in the Utilities & Applications directory. The FAQ can be found at "FAQs" > "Update". Alternatively you can find the FAQ on the Internet at: SIMOTION D410, D425, D435, D445 and D445-1 With Version V4.1 SP2 HF3, a new firmware is available for SIMOTION D which is the first to also support the SIMOTION D Version of the SIMOTION D firmware: V4.1 SP2 HF3 (V ) Version of the SINAMICS Integrated firmware: V2.5 (V ) This version contains all the error corrections of the SINAMICS V2.5 SP1 HF10 as well as the error corrections described in Chapter 5. Update from V4.1 SP2 to V4.1 SP2 HF3 The Device Update Tool can be used for the update from V4.1 SP2 to V4.1 SP2 HF3. Details on the use of the update tool can be found in Chapter 4. The following installation notes are then not relevant for this.

3 Installation notes The individual firmware versions for SIMOTION D are available on the SIMOTION SCOUT V4.1 SP2 + HF4 DVD as a ZIP archive at "Firmware\3_D4xx". The firmware versions incl. further update notes are also available at the following link: Requirements: Windows PC Card reader for CompactFlash card Firmware as ZIP archive for D410, D4x5 and D4xx, each in a version for PROFINET V2.1 and for PROFINET V2.2 The firmware in the D4xx archive can run on the SIMOTION D410 and SIMOTION D4x5. However, this firmware cannot be loaded via IT DIAG for previous versions older than V4.1 SP2. In this case, use the firmware in the D410 or D4x5 archive. The update procedure is described in detail in an FAQ of the Utilities & Applications (scope of delivery of SCOUT V4.1 SP2 / DVD2 - CD_14). You start the navigation by opening "index.htm" in the Utilities & Applications directory. The FAQ can be found at "FAQs" > "Update". Alternatively you can find the FAQ on the Internet at: Further information on upgrades and downgrades can be found in the SIMOTION D410 Commissioning Manual (Chapter 5) or SIMOTION D4x5 (Chapter 8). The manual can be found in the scope of delivery of SCOUT V4.1 SP2 on DVD2 - CD_12 at \Documentation\English\5_SIMOTION_D\ Delivery version of the 1 GB CF card The 1 GB CF card (6AU1400-2PA00-0AA0) will be changed to Version 4.1 SP2 HF3 and delivered with the D4xx firmware in accordance with PROFINET V2.2. If you are still using PROFINET V2.1, please load your CF card with the appropriate firmware. New D445-1 module SIMOTION D445-1 (order no. 6AU1445-0AA00-0AA1) will be released for the first time with V4.1 SP2 HF3. Compared with the SIMOTION D445 (order no. 6AU1445-0AA00-0AA0), the SIMOTION D445-1 has approx. 30% more PLC and motion control performance depending on the application. For further information see: SIMOTION D445-1 product information (see the Product_info_D445_1 directory on the SIMOTION SCOUT V4.1 SP2 HF4 DVD) SIMOTION D445-1 delivery release (probably available at the end of 1/2009)

4 2.3 SIMOTION P350 The release for Version V4.1 SP2 HF3 (V ) is only for the V3 Box Pentium M, 2 GHz (6AU AK4x-1BE2 and 6AU AK4x-2BE2). Before the update of the SIMOTION P350-3 SIMATIC NET V 7.0 (2007) must be installed (scope of delivery of SCOUT V4.1 SP2 / DVD2 - CD11) You should save all the commissioning data (retain data and the data in the application saved to the CF card with _save.../_exportunitdataset) of the device. Information on this can be found in the SCOUT Manual, Section 3.15 (scope of delivery of the SCOUT V4.1 SP2 / DVD2- CD_12 at \Documentation\English\1_Engineering_System_Handling\SCOUT_configuration.pdf) and in the online help at "Saving/Restoring Variables". Termination of the SIMOTION P runtime in the SIMOTION P state. Installation notes The update should be performed by means of the setup for the SIMOTION P The SETUP.EXE program can be found on the SIMOTION SCOUT V4.1 SP2 HF4 DVD at "Firmware\3_P350" as a ZIP archive. Start the SETUP.EXE by simply double-clicking it. IMPORTANT! Please also check the name of the P350 in the Station Configurator. This (e.g. PCStation) must be the same as the name in HW Config at Object properties. Only then is it possible to go online! The firmware for PROFINET V2.2 is installed automatically. If the firmware in accordance with PROFINET V2.1 is required, please get in touch with your Siemens contact person. The update procedure is described in detail in an FAQ of the Utilities & Applications (scope of delivery of SCOUT V4.1 SP2 / DVD2 - CD_14). Alternatively you can find the FAQ on the Internet at: SIMOTION P350 commissioning Please note the appropriate documentation for the P350-3 (see Commissioning and Hardware Installation Manual in the scope of delivery of the SCOUT V4.1 SP2 / DVD2 - CD_12 at \Documentation\German\5_SIMOTION_P\P350-3_commissioning.pdf). Please also note the following when switching the device on for the first time: A setup, which installs the associated software of SIMOTION P, is executed automatically when switching the SIMOTION P350-3 on for the first time. Do not switch the SIMOTION P350-3 off or terminate the setup while it is being executed! A reboot is triggered automatically when the setup is completed. Windows is booted automatically with SIMOTION P. The setup is completed with the firmware update of the IsoPROFIBUS board / MCI-PN board and the SIMOTION P350-3 now behaves as for every standard ramp-up.

5 2.3.2 Ramp-up The SIMOTION Kernel is started automatically after ramp-up of the SIMOTION P. A log-on to the system is not required. The system is provided with the AUTO-Logon function that performs an automatic log-on with the "Simotion" user. This user has administrator rights. Thus, this user can make all relevant modifications. The following users are preconfigured in the system: User Assigned groups Simotion Administrator + Users auduser Administrator 3. Installation of SIMOTION SCOUT V4.1 SP2 + HF4 The software package for SIMOTION SCOUT and SCOUT standalone is an additive setup. Prerequisite for the installation is that SCOUT or SCOUT standalone with Version 4.1 SP2 is already installed on the engineering computer. When these requirements have been satisfied, the installation of the SCOUT updates can be performed using CD_1\Setup.exe. The following versions are installed: Version of SIMOTION SCOUT: V4.1 SP2 + HF4 (V ) Version of SIMOTION motion control technology packages (Cam, Path, Cam_Ext): V4.1 SP2 HF3 (V ) The SSP_SINAMICS_G120_ _ will be installed. Further SSPs can be installed any time. You can find information about released SSPs at Produkt Support ( PROFINET V2.2 is recommended for new projects with PROFINET. If finished projects are to be converted from PROFINET V2.1 to PROFINET V2.2, a module replacement in HW Config and a firmware replacement are required. SIMOTION SCOUT V4.1 SP2 HF4 has now been released for Windows XP SP3. 4. Update via Device Update Tool The Device Update Tool can be used for the update from V4.1 SP2 to V4.1 SP2 HF3. The firmware support package V4.1 SP2 HF3 for SCOUT V4.1 SP2 is required for this. The firmware support package V4.1 SP2 HF3 is available at "FWSP_V " on the SIMOTION SCOUT V4.1 SP2 + HF4 DVD. Please note also the separate readme stored there for the firmware support package. 5. Corrected Function Restrictions with HF3/HF4 This hotfix mainly corrects the following function restrictions in the SIMOTION SCOUT engineering system, in the runtime system and in the technology packages for V4.1 SP2.

6 For SCOUT AP Save and compile - existing program could no longer be compiled under V4.1 SP2. Marshalling function cannot be used for individual bytes in combination with typecast. AP Download error when using I/O variables with marshalling functions (incomplete copying of byte arrays in the I/O area). AP AP Performance optimization of the compilation times (ST compiler) AP Consistent project from V4.1 SP1 becomes inconsistent online with V4.1 SP2. The mechanism for checking the libraries has been changed between V4.1 SP1 and V4.1 SP2. AP Current ST source files for T-CPU V4.1 are not contained in the SCOUT V4.1 SP2. AP Diagnostic message in HW Config shows different order numbers for configured and connected. The order numbers of the CU320/CU310 and CBE20 have been adjusted. For DCC AP A parameter interconnection to two different drives from one block output is not possible. For runtime system and technology packages AP Recursive TO interconnections in the project result in errors. Commands / function blocks are aborted with error 30002, reason 28, when activating/deactivating a motion or motion input. (See also AP Camming - undefined jump during synchronization If synchronization is performed immediately in the positive direction with dynamic response specification in an absolute camming and the synchronization operation takes several master cycles because of a relatively low dynamic synchronization response, there is an undefined jump on the following axis when synchronism is achieved. AP Camming - velocity jumps on the following axis after _setcammingoffset. AP Camming - cam is aborted with error as of a certain master velocity. AP Synchronous operation/camming time-out of the IPOTask when interconnections are used.

7 AP Supplementary technology objects - variable values cannot be read for TP CamExt. AP The consistency check results in an error for TO externalencoder with analog sensor (direct value as absolute value in the I/O area) and configured monitoring of the error bit (configuration data item TypeOfAxis.Encoder_1.AnalogSensor.ErrorStateMonitoring.enable = yes). AP Sporadically there is a different ramp-up behavior and message "Operating mode transition to Defective". AP The SIMOTION controller goes into STOP mode during "Copy RAM to ROM" in RUN mode. AP HMI ProTool V6.0 SP3 - the associated TO name is not displayed in the ProTool alarm window for an axis alarm. AP There is no saving of the retain data when the SIMOTION P350 is shut down via the UPS. AP Project download D410 During general reset, the Scout is sporadically disconnected from the controller. AP PROFIBUS comunication. Under certain circumstance the D445 goes into 'Defective' mode during automatic operation. AP PROFIBUS comunication. D4xx does not ramp up (fault) when an intelligent DP slave with data exchange broadcast is simultaneously an active PROFIBUS node and there is a DP master on the other DP line. Diagnostics buffer entry: Error in the I/O controller, reason 6, note AP High-speed output cam on the D4xx onboard terminals does not switch correctly or switch at all with large clock cycles and certain velocities. For SINAMICS Integrated The SIMOTION D firmware contains all the error corrections of the SINAMICS V2.5 SP1 HF10 as well as the error corrections described in the following. AP Error 1651 for safety time-slice monitoring with SIMOTION D4x5 AP DRIVE-CLiQ hub causes error 36851: Sign-of-life missing

8 In addition, the following general conditions have been corrected for V4.1 SP2: AP Accessible nodes in SCOUT and online/offline comparison of the topology in HW Config do not function simultaneously as they access the communication resources in contention. This can result in a crash of HW Config. AP The synchronization does not function for an IRT I device with PROFINET V2.2. The controller hangs in the WAIT_FOR_DP_CLOCK state. AP With PROFINET V2.2, the P350 PN standalone cannot be loaded unless a DP board is connected. AP If both PROFINET interfaces of the D410 (PN V2.2) are used for PROFINET, an internal error occurs when station return of another PROFINET node is signaled. AP In the "Context menu of the DCC library -> Block type properties -> Additional block type properties" dialog box, not only individual languages may be completely filled out for the block comment. AP DCC on SINAMICS_Integrated: Up to five SERVO drive axes (+ 1 ALM + TB30) can be used with the V On principle, DCC may not be used with six SERVO axes. The maximum possible number of blocks for five SERVO axes (+ ALM + TB30) is limited to 120 in a download and to approx. 50 in an upload (+ same number parameters). With four axes (+ ALM + TB30) 170 blocks + parameters are possible in the DL and UL With three axes (+ ALM + TB30) 220 blocks + parameters are possible in the DL and UL With two axes (+ ALM + TB30) 270 blocks + parameters are possible in the DL and UL With one axis (+ ALM + TB30) 320 blocks + parameters are possible in the DL and UL If the permissible number of blocks is exceeded, fault F01105 "CU: Insufficient memory" occurs during a project upload or download. AP When recording a SINAMICS trace with SCOUT, F01105 "CU: Insufficient memory" can occur for large topologies with six servo axes and additional terminal modules or less than six servo axes and additional DCCs. AP It is not possible to use the TM17 High Feature terminal module with a 500 µs DRIVE-CLiQ cycle clock. AP After the speed controller optimization of the drive with automatic controller setting, the PROFIdrive message frame is automatically changed to "999". P0922 is changed and restored again, but p2079 remains at the value 999. AP If a project download is performed on a CX32 before all DRIVE-CLiQ components have been connected, the CX32 goes offline after the download and switches to the first commissioning mode. It is then possible to go online again.

New General Condition with HF3/HF4 AP Sporadic power-up problems with the CX32 on a D445-1 in connection with the extended Safety Functions Powering up the CX32 is sometimes not completed in connection with the extended Safety Functions (F-CPU and TM54F) and a D When you go online with the Scout, a COMM- INT error is displayed in the alarm window and a connection error is reported. The Rdy LED of the CX32 remains yellow, just like the power unit LEDs. After a lengthy waiting period, the Rdy LED turns red. Remedy: Switch off the D445-1 and then switch it on again. END
