1 Data Sheet PSTech Cisco Jabber Integration with IBM Notes: Opening up new dimensions for productivity Product Overview PSTech Cisco Jabber Integration with IBM Notes is a plugin that allows Cisco Jabber features to be accessed from inside IBM Notes. By extending Jabber Presence, Instant Messaging and Call Escalation directly into IBM Notes, end users can leverage the power of Cisco Unified Communications technologies without having to leave their Notes client. Both voice and video calling are supported, as well as point to point and multi-party Instant Messaging. The integration fully supports IBM LiveNames and LiveText, which extend Jabber s Presence, Instant Messaging and Click to Call features throughout the Notes environment, including the Calendar and Personal Contacts. Cisco Jabber Integration with Notes combined with Jabber s existing Calendar integration provides a secure, reliable and scalable way to boost end user productivity throughout the Enterprise.

2 With PSTech Cisco Jabber Integration with IBM Notes v1.5 we have introduced two possibilities of deployment: - Deployment type A Just as in previous versions, Instant Messaging & Presence and Call related features are both escalated to Cisco Jabber client. - Deployment Type B Instant Messaging & Presence are handled by Sametime embedded plugin and Call related features are escalated to Cisco Jabber. If you wish to keep Sametime embedded - IM&P for any specific reasons, we grant you that wish with our 1.5 plugin. It is done in a way that all Click to Call actions will be escalated to Cisco Jabber, and you can use Sametime embedded for IM&P almost as you did before. We say "almost" because you can now be even more productive and start all of your Cisco calls from Sametime Chat window and Sametime embedded Contacts view. Cisco Jabber escalation to Chat from Cisco Jabber Icon in Notes Action Bar Click to Call Important information about phone numbers: To call contacts, the phone number must exist in either IBM Domino or the contact information in IBM Notes. The plugin does not populate phone numbers for contacts from Cisco Jabber. If you add phone numbers for contacts in IBM Notes, you must restart IBM Notes before the plugin can detect the phone number. 9 Click to Call via LiveText IBM Notes offers a feature called LiveText. This recognizes patterns in read-only documents, such as an , a calendar invite or a contact s information. The Cisco Jabber Integration Plugin adds phone numbers to the recognizer and allows you to click to call the phone numbers highlighted as LiveText.:

10 Deployment Type B As in deployment type A, call related features, click to call and click to conference, are escalated to Cisco Jabber client. In this type of deployment, Jabber call and Conference are also available from Sametime Contacts view and Sametime Chat window. Click to Call and Click to Conference Figure 14.
